i test with multimeter the power switch of toshiba l300 both two terminal it buzz mean shot to ground but indicate power lights would not turn on shoud i fix it

Deci, acea placa de baza are o problemă cu alimentarea ei de la încărcător( posibil sa fie un scurt de la un tranzistor MOSFET sau de la o dioda sau cel mai probabil de la un condesator) , ori poate fi de la încărcătorul care nu furnizeaza amperi necesari( sau defect?), ori partea de alimentare a procesorului este scurt cirucuita. În nici într-un caz chipurile Northbrige si SouthBridge nu cauzează laptopul sa nu pornească (adica mort de tot), sugerarea mea este: înainte de a umbla la placa de bază, verifica daca are scurt la mufa de încărcare( daca are, asta este) încearcă să conectezi un alt încărcător care are tensiunea și amperajul necesar pentru a porni.
@@UltimateDIY The bios is untouched. I only modified the boot order to install XP and put the SATA Controller mode to Compatibility so it won’t bluescreen when trying to install.
Like I said before, you obviously know what you're doing (but you can't win them all as we say/100% success rate is never guaranteed in these situations), but two things surprise me: 1) I never see you wearing an anti-static wristband. Surely when working at MB level this is an absolute necessity? 2) You turn the laptop over and rest it on your hard workbench without a towel or soft material underneath it. The chances of scratching lid/cracking the screen are extremely high with all the tools and screws and components floating around. To any novices trying to follow in his footsteps when repairing computers, I would highly recommend both of the aforementioned precautions.
You are right on both things. But in my defense, in about 20 years of working on computers I never had an antistatic wrist strap and never killed hardware. Probably it's just luck, but it's good enough for me. About the protection on the desk, most laptops that I get my hands on are already in a really rough shape, so it's just not worth it for me. But again, you are right and anybody working on a laptop should do what you said. I am a bad example in this case :)

At least I would check power supplies and voltages. It's easy to find power supplies, just look for the coils :)

Common problem for Toshiba L300 is NEC TOken capacitor failure behind CPU socket other side of board.

Really hard to guess if it's a modified bios, or just a bios setting that is preventing the display of the logo.
