I have Loved Lisa Coleman since I saw the video 1999 with her and JJ intertwined on the keyboard. I think Wendy and Lisa are extrodinary musicians and I love their work....I hope Prince and the both of them get back together.
They are all beautiful. What a great song. I remember having the biggest crush on Wendy when i was 8. Everytime they would show her in Purple Rain i would blush like crazy. I love her smile. She shows it off alot in the Prince Kiss video. Keep doin' you're thing girls! You sound great!
i just don't give a fuck wheather w&l had an impact on prince or not! just this recording is heaven for me. seeing them play their wonderful music - whoa!
Joooe, casi no me acordaba ya de este pedaso de grupo, Wendy & Lisa. Y que nadie se equivoque, a Prince hace mucho tiempo que no lo aguanto, al igual que a Madonna.
How did Prince let these 2 get away? OMG, they clearly were the driving force behind the Revolution and that sound of Prince recordings in the early - mid 80's.
Saw them in 86' Prince & The Revolution - Amazingly talented... & then saw them 2gether at 'Town & Contry Club' 89' My Favourite Album of there's is naturaly their first one, unique!
Hey does anyone out there know where I can find this song to download? Couldn't find it on iTunes. I assume the name is "Strung out on Love" . I totally love it...Awesome song!
Lemme get the album... yup, I stand corrected. On the back, it says: "Produced, Arranged, Composed and Performed by Prince and the Revolution". The inlay says: "All words & music by Prince except 'Computer Blue' written by John L. Nelson, Lisa, Wendy and Prince". I must have gotten that impression from the movie, somehow...
@kalimaganeshshivan they were bossy to Prince ? wow, that's a missing link i never heard of. man, why don't they do a full biography of what went down during studio session and rehearsals and stuff. they need to clear these things up for people. thanx for giving me that tip bro.
I believe that the backup singer in the red dress is Sussanah Melvoin, the beautiful sister of the beautiful Wendy Melvoin. Prince dated Susannah for quite a long time in the 80's but was unwilling to tie the knot with her.
Prince didn't let them get away, if you notices everytime he want to change his sound he changes his members. He gears his member to the sounds that he want.
The 1st album (not sure about the name) featured "Waterfalls" & "Sideshow". The 2nd - "Fruit at the Bottom", featured the hits "Lolly", "Are You My Baby?" and "Satisfaction". The 3rd album was indeed, "Eroica". They may be influenced by either Prince or a broader, Minneapolis sound but these two wrote some kickass songs together. Didn't Wendy write Purple Rain, by the way? Prince should have 'em over on a regular basis... you wanna keep this much talent close to you.
Prince's sound didn't depend on these 2, remember the majority of his music were songs already written from his earlier years. lis and wendy wrote some songs with him. BUT, he played everything. therefore his sound was purely him. he changed what he wanted to change.
@ms042364 The New Power Generation just didn't fit Prince's music. It had a "rapper who couldn't rap" (in the words of one music writer), and Rosie Gaines was more concerned with showing off shouter vocals than being sexy. She tried to upstage Prince rather than support him. As a singer Lisa Coleman didn't have Gaines' belt, but she was VERY erotic.
@kalimaganeshshivan they were never fired, on the last night of the Parade tour, everyone in the Revolution were in a dressing room and stared at each other and said "where do we go from here?" and Prince said "i geuss we've done it all" so all the members said " then it's time to go" and they ended the revolution. THESE WERE LISA COLEMAN'S WORDS EXACTLY!
The is so weak, they have not wrote anything good being on there own. And being the driving force OMG get real its prince he played a lot of the track on the album before windy and lisa was in the band. If you get so free time check out (prince: the glory year: unauthorized DVD)

God Bless Wendy & Lisa & thankyou for your beautifull contribution to music.
I wish I wasn't so busy popping out babies in the 80's and early 90's to miss these amazing musicians.
I love this so much - beautiful song and harmonies.. WISH I could see them live
Their contribution to Prince's sound is unmeasurable!

Just the most beautiful innocent recording. Love it :-)
Always loved this song. Glad they are still working. Their music for the TV show 'Heroes' is great.

I enjoy both versions. However, this version gives a different feeling. Wow, just brilliant.
I'm strung out on this song.....TOTALLY LOVE IT. :)
i just don't give a fuck wheather w&l had an impact on prince or not!
just this recording is heaven for me. seeing them play their wonderful music - whoa!
Thanks. I'll look for the scene here. I mean IF they already haven't pulled the audio out...
.

Thanks for uploading ; great piece.
One of my favorite songs by Wendy & Lisa.
How did Prince let these 2 get away? OMG, they clearly were the driving force behind the Revolution and that sound of Prince recordings in the early - mid 80's.
Beautiful song!!
Gorgeous tune!
Saw them in 86' Prince & The Revolution -
Amazingly talented... & then saw them 2gether at 'Town & Contry Club' 89'
My Favourite Album of there's is naturaly their first one, unique!
I just watched this. Never saw it before. I can understand where someone like Prince thought there was some talent here.
Cool dream sequence.
I love this version of strung out
The intro made me think of Sometimes It Snows In April, anyways it's great,I wish the girls would release another pop album and do a world tour.

Awesome - where did this come from?
@kalimaganeshshivan they were bossy to Prince ? wow, that's a missing link i never heard of. man, why don't they do a full biography of what went down during studio session and rehearsals and stuff. they need to clear these things up for people. thanx for giving me that tip bro.
Do you realy need to go there? They are loved by their fans for their talent.

This is from the Eroica sessions!
Very nice!!
Thanks 4 W&L -where can I find this? Thank you for a bit of class on the tube-waves.
*in a stalker voice* Wendy and Susannahhhhh....
Where was this? Fantastic!
Oh yeah ! " Your songs doesn't interest anybody but you" - Purple Rain - Prophetic !
hell yeah you are right on point
This acoustic version is sooooooo much better than the guitar-based up-tempo version that ended up on the album.
oh my god!!! this is as rare as seeing Jesus walk on water!!!
The amazing Skeleton Key is on EROICA.
💗💗💗
Prince didn't let them get away, if you notices everytime he want to change his sound he changes his members. He gears his member to the sounds that he want.
What is this from? I know it's from the Eroica sessions, but... Was this released? Is this on a specific bootleg? What were they taping for?
The 1st album (not sure about the name) featured "Waterfalls" & "Sideshow".
The 2nd - "Fruit at the Bottom", featured the hits "Lolly", "Are You My Baby?" and "Satisfaction".

wendy's hair.....!!!
wHAT'S THE TITTLE OF THIS BEAUTIFUL SONG?
Prince's sound didn't depend on these 2, remember the majority of his music were songs already written from his earlier years. lis and wendy wrote some songs with him. BUT, he played everything. therefore his sound was purely him. he changed what he wanted to change.
This version is way better than the single.
Does anybody know when this was recorded?
Thanks, but is it this same studio version?
The one released on the CD is completely
different....faster tempo, not as cool nor as
passionate!
The worst thing Prince ever did (apart from changing his name to an unpronounceable squiggle) was to let these two go
Neither do the people who call these two "the Prince girls". As if they had nothing else to offer...
what's the name of the song ?
@rspexperiment
Thank u
if someone writes or even think of sheryl crow he will be accursed 'til the 7th generation... hey wait a minute... not me !
someone who knows the chords for this ?
damn...i wish Prince would get the Revolutions back together any1? any1?
I would have thought Wendy was happy Susannah was in the band?
@ms042364

@GeorgeJansen they would've but wendy and lisa rejected. why they did? i don't know. prince and everyone else were up for it but these two.
@kalimaganeshshivan they were fired u can bet on that
