Octavia's song and speech at the end is the result of recently getting tons and tons of conflicting information. S1 E2 Loo Loo Land was Stolas trying to make a good day for his daughter meanwhile she didn't want to go and he spent most of the day flirting with Blitz. S2 E2 Seeing Stars has him break his previous promise of taking her to see Asothoths' Tears when the day comes and he instead forgets and spends more time berating Stella until she runs off on him. And in the last episode Masterminds she sees him willing to give up his life for Blitz which would leave her without a father, therefore breaking his promise that no matter where she is he will be close by. Even though we know Stolas truly loves Octavia and does want to stand by his words that he loves her, his actions have failed to show that as of recent and we are seeing Octavia reach her breaking point. She doesn't want to cut him off but she can't take any more of his empty promises. Plus I imagine being around Stella and Adrealphys all the time doesn't help her feel happy with Stolas. Granted, she is missing a LOT of context like the fact Stolas has been in love with Blitzø since childhood, Paimon was a neglectful and abusive father to Stolas, Stolas and Stella were in an arranged marriage and therefore they never loved each other, and especially she has no idea that Stella was the one who tried to get Stolas assassinated and that Andrealphys also knows. However, this is also an explanation as to why she reacts the way she does, because without that context she's forced to frame and make sense of the events with the limited information of Stolas showing time and time again he makes empty promises and seems to care more for Blitzø than he does for her even if he wants to care for both of them the same. Also should say that this is going to be resolves since there are at LEAST 2 more seasons confirmed for this show, but also someone else mentioned this is a great writing choice to give Stolas a wake up call. He already got one with being exiled and now needing to basically learn how Blitzø and the rest of the lower class of demons function and do shit, but now he also has to address how he has basically repeated the same mistakes of his father by neglecting Octavia in the moments she desperately needed him there. And yes, he didn't pay attention to her where it mattered and only showed up after she broke down and the damage was done, which basically is like putting a band-aid on a wound. It stops the bleeding but doesn't help heal it.

I'm also happy to see this because for a while the show had a habit of coddling Stolas and treating him like this poor victim (at least within the first part of this season) and many were worried, myself included, that they wouldn't address his issues after Full Moon, especially since Episode 9 and 10 were mostly focused on Blitzø working through his issues. Though I'm glad Mastermind and Sinsmas were given as mostly Stolas centered episodes delivering him a reality check of just how privileged and out of touch he is. Let's hope Season 3 keeps this momentum and at least some stuff changes, like maybe Octavia finding out just how much worse her mother is and maybe running away
