Nice plot!! It’s best to not let young apples fruit until year 4 or 5. It will set back their structure growth several years. I’ve tested this in my orchards. The trees without fruit the first 4 years always produce more long term.
Thanks, I pick the flowers off as well until the tree gets established.
how bad is soil PH there??
The starting pH was 5.3. I have added lime and will retest it next spring.
