I can feel I’ve been called since last week. It’s fresh, it’s raw, it’s even feel like something actually calling! That’s why I’m listening to all these wonderful speeches. And, I’m gonna say Wholeheartedly YES. I’m quitting before my next birthday on March and will start the journey if Allah permits. The family pressure and financial issues are true, just to test if I’m true to my Yes. I’ll keep you updated on this, probably after years!
I took the same path as him, studied at Georgia Tech, studied abroad in Metz, realized my love for travelling while interning in Singapore. I am working now and digging at my dream of getting into Mountaineering. Going to climb Kilimanjaro in November this year. Looking forward to leaving this "job world" and living a life that gives me happiness and not worrying about the things that give me no satisfaction.

It is not about a holiday, it is about crossing borders, life, and how it evolves when trust and faith comes into play. Your awareness brought meaning and value to every experience. Thanks Matthew Trinetti, one of the best talks I've ever seen, I guess because it hit on my face, I've allowed fear to drive my bus in this regard. The message was very clear, very good delivery and engaging. Somehow I landed on your website today and immediately connected with it, I love traveling and I wish I could find the way to do it for longer and live in different places. I think for some people, life is not meant to be lived in one place. Thanks again, your words have really moved me (on my work lunch break)
Congrats on being invited to do a TedTalk. We can't really know if your journey is over, and that you're doing what you were made to do. Maybe your purpose it to touch many people so that they feel that swift kick in the ass as you did when Shannon died. I know that she is proud of you, as are we.
When you say Yes to one thing, you are saying no to many other things...a paycheck, a promise of a job, a place to live...don't get me wrong, travel when you can but realize that a man without a home is usually called homeless.

I completely agree. I envy his position a little. I own my own business now but when working in a "regular" job, if I had ever asked for a sabattical I would have been laughed out of the office.
National parks hire. When you start, you have a job, an income, food and meals, and a place to live, usually dorm style. It's an awesome almost free (you just have to show up to work -and work- usually concessions) way to travel, see the country, and meet new people. No experience necessary. I went to Yellowstone for 8 months; driving across the country by myself when I was 17-turned 18 on the road, Just in time to start my new job. All the hiking, waterfalls, and hot potting I wanted! There also outposts of all kinds that hire for the season,, across the country. From tourist areas, like beaches and mountain towns, to white water raft guides, zip line companies, rock climbing, and even restaurants....I've been told I should write a book about my life. But who reads anymore? Life is good, it's what you make of it. But remember, don't worship the creation. Thank The Creator for for this beautiful world!
