I once saw a beautiful light green 3rd gen prelude with white advan 6 spoke wheels in the backyard of the local car repair shop. Didnt know what car it was back then, but i have been in love ever since. One day she will be mine.
I had a Polar White 1987 2nd Gen Prelude with the twin-carb 1.8L, factory tape deck and graphic equalizer. It cornered like it was nailed to the road, and once I figured out how to properly sync the carbs it stopped accelerating the same way. I once did 110 most of the way through Montana in it. I owned the 'Lude during the height of 80's nostalgia and spent a lot of time rocketing around the Puget Sound with friends and lovers while blasting Synthwave. The only thing it sucked at was snow. The engine sat too far forward of the front axle and that made it super prone to understeer in low traction conditions. I miss that car. It was a personal favorite and if there is any car from my past I could have back it would be my '87 Prelude
1:26 Honda actually didn't get rid of the hood mounted mirrors for the 2nd gen Prelude, for the first year of production in the home market of Japan , fender mirrors were still required to come with the Prelude however the following year they were no longer mandatory, but you could still spec them if you preferred them
You, at 90 subs, managed to entertain me to not skip a single second of this video. Great job :) keep it up with this simple style of editing and I bet you'll make great progress here on YT.
Had a 5th gen Type SH (VTI-S in Europe), and it was my favorite car ever, always told everyone how it's underrated, its sportier than the accord, and way more luxurious than the integra, it just has an aura that no other Honda has for me... Those long taillights are a sight to behold whenever you see one on the road
Del Sol brought the B16A to USA for the first time, then what one more time in the EK Si? Sad I always wanted to de stroke a B16A and rev it to 11K, put it in an EF sedan of course, maybe even carbed
When I was in highschool I had a friend who drove a turbo’d 5th gen. It was pretty fast and riding it validated hondas and japanese cars to me, as at the time it was the fastest car I had ever ridden in. Don’t remember too many specifics about the turbo setup but it was a big turbo and it made all the bov noises.
I own a 5th gen, in fact it's the first car I bought, and I love it even though it makes me tear my hair out sometimes. I got used to the weight distribution quickly though or it didn't make that much of an impression since i hadn't driven in a while before i bought the car. But anyways preludes are awesome and I hope i will be able to buy it some new wheels and an oem front lip as well as wrap or paint it white!
I am an avid Prelude fan. I grew up watching my father work on a 3rd Gen 4ws in Phoenix Red. Great car indeed ! The best looking generation is undoubtedly the 3rd gen followed by the 5th gen imo.
currently own a night hawk black pearl 01 5th gen prelude i bought it back in 2022 its not on road at the moment needs work but when i was driving it truly was a blast to take through corners handles really well and has decent power compared to my cousins 95 5th gen civic coupe which i drove alot before getting the prelude the front end is noticeably heavier than the civic when you first get in but you get used to it as you drive mostly feel it when accelerating from a stop and when coming to a stop not as noticeable through the corners i wanted one to drive to highschool got one a couple years after i graduated took alot of work to get it on the road and it still needs more work done before its back to 100%
Saw an NSX in the wild yesterday. Red, flip ups, stock wheels. The last Prelude I can remember seeing was a light blue third gen, weeks ago. I think it's the same Prelude I keep seeing. Just don't notice 5th gens in traffic.
I like these affordable, "everyday" sports cars like the Prelude, 180/240SX/Silva, Sprinter and others- they're both fun and exciting to drive, practical enough to carry 4 people and luggage and don't break the bank. I wish they were more popular these days- stuff like the MX-5, GR86, Yaris and Corolla uphold this dying spec.
I thought I was watching a channel with multiple thousand subscribers, but no you've only got 93! (Well 94 now that I subscribed :D) I hope your channel blows up soon man, keep up the content man.
Some people refer to the s1built kit when talking about AWD swapping a prelude as if that's all that you need. In reality the $4300 kit is just a fraction of what is necessary, and the real cost to AWD swap a prelude is closer to $10-12k.
I had a '99 SH before my FRS. I took the transmission and ATTS out and replaced it with a T2T4 LSD transmission out of an Accord Si-R. Same 1-4 gear ratios but 5th was a little taller which brings the RPM's down for highway cruising. Saves weight too.
Imo (and not dogging on the prelude too hard cus i do like it cus it looks cool). My primary issue is that it simply isnt that good compared to its competitors cus they offered more in factors that actually matter (like performance and handling). Sure the lude looks cool but its effectively a weighted down integra and even if it had a nice engine it still pale in comparison to performance oriented versions of existing cars in hondas lineup. Still tho it looks cool and maybe if it got the Type R treatment and got an NA unit with 250~270hp, a ludicrous redline, and was lightened significantly it would be seen as a powerhouse. It would be a hard sell but at least it would have a super dedicated fanbase.
i didnt even have to click to know it was the prelude i love my gen 4 bb4 so much that beautiful 200hp h22a with an lsd i dont understand how it go so left alone compared to the civic and integra considering it was the fastest and most luxury out of that generation
It's unpopularity makes it possible to find older low mileage models in good condition

I miss my dad's 3rd gen Prelude, was such a cool car. My dad wouldn't stop going on about how well it handled thanks to the 4 wheel steering.
Another underappreciated sporty Honda is the Accord Coupe (V6s with manual tranny), basically the spiritual successor to the Prelude.
BEFORE I EVEN WATCH I declare the honda fit the most overshadowed
It is not. It is seriously loved by lots.
The 4th Gen Prelude had one of the coolest production car interiors I have ever seen.
This is a really well done video, I was shocked when i saw you've never made car content prior
Great video how has it not gone viral 😁😁🥳

my older brother has a prelude redtop and blue top, he met somebody with a black one too ever since then hes been family too

Love me a prelude, its truly a shame more people don't talk about them. Fantastic video though, you could definitely be going somewhere with this!

H Swapped accords were around before k series even existed, which were inspired by the Japanese touring cars with reverse head h22's.

I don't think you can fit 4 people in a prelude unless you have 2 amputees

Great Video quality, keep it up man
I have subbed you when you had 76 subscribers and when this video had 2.6k views, i think you will go big
Honda should have made the Prelude RWD from the beginning.
FWD is for Civics and Golfs
Ive subbed hoping for more car videos all good if not lol
This one was good

So in other words, the forums talked you into spending a decent chunk of change.
@@MMOchAForPrez The ATTS system wouldn't handle 400hp
Great vid. love from Bohemia
Best sports car
I'd also love to see the prelude be more appreciated
Great video ❤️🔥
had a 5th gen for over a year now, bit of a project but man is that thing fun to drive
preludes aren't underrated or overshadowed, they have their place. They are good lookers but not much after that.
Great Video

Totally shoulda had a v6 option
My first car. Was okay.
Great production quality for such a low subscriber channel
Honda Quaalude
