Senior here, if your school has a theatre, you will gain a lot from trying out because it will help you develop the confidence to speak in front of groups, something a LOT of people are sorely lacking.
this is facts though.
I second this!! I'm just a sophomore, but at the beginning of the school year last year, I told myself that I wouldn't try for theatre until I was a junior or senior. I'm so glad a bunch of opportunities showed themselves and that I gained the courage to take them. Now, I am significantly more confident, and honestly, I'm a lot happier, too. It also made me realize how much I loved theatre and film and that I would love to be a scriptwriter when I'm older :)
We did but unfortunately it was never used. For some fucking reason. Other than, like, sticking the kids there before classes start and certain announcements

Luckily I switched of my horrible school to a much better one at the start of the 2nd semester and only had 2 online classes, no zoom calls required. I definitely had the most fun in sophomore and junior years tho

*Participate in something that interests you or brings you joy (extracurriculars/clubs/electives). Being in Choir was something that helped me.
*Make friends if you can
*Don't try to overwork yourself
*If you have questions or need help, don't hesitate to ask. Someone will always point you in the right direction.

today I found my depression state is unbearable, but I also found a youtube video about how to survive in highschool. made by ShivVZG, it confirms the many gut feeling I have. My school starts at 6.20 and ends at 3.45 so imma take a different school

How's it going in the new school?
Can confirm my Senior year was my best year. 6 classes with one of them being a fitness class, always got out early, got senior privileges along with final year parties, and no one bothered you since it’s the final year and everyone’s over it at that point.

Yeah, heavy on the AP classes one. I go to a very academically inclined high school which unfortunately encouraged me into some AP classes I wasn't prepared for. (Don't take AP history classes unless you have a good memory/are a history fanatic, a handy tip) But the good thing about AP classes is that they prepare you for college classes if you plan on going! I definitely feel more prepared for college after having some exposure to the rigor of it.

Marching band, jazz band, jazz choir, speech, and theater are gonna make me miss high school so much when I graduate this year
My number 1 advice for people that are about to get into high school is to make sure you make a good impression on your first day because if you just stay quiet and avoid people chances are you'll end up with a bad reputation and will probably get bullied
(Don't rely on teachers they don't do anything and will most likely make the situation worse)

As a freshman, joining theatre did me a LOTTT of justice, I made so many friends there and have a lot of “big siblings” to guide me throughout my journey in high school :)

1. You usually want to eat to prevent yourself from starving
2. Water intake is recommended
3. Breathing air can help you stay alive for more than 5 minutes
4. Try to get as much sleep as you can (preferably in class)
5. Avoid killing yourself because it can have a really negative effect on your health

I was a depressed perfectionist in HS, here's more tips:
-Don't stress too much about grades, most state colleges have like a 2.5+ gpa requirement
-Don't overdo homework for an under-appreciative teacher
-Forget about what others think of you, it literally doesn't matter
-Be kind to your teachers, they're underpaid
-Don't stress if you're not a Straight A student
-Even the funnest class can suck with a bad teacher
-The most boring class can be fun with a good teacher
-Cliques and labels like "popular/unpopular" are stupid, just talk to who you vibe with
-Don't spend time with friends who drain your energy
-Don't stress if you're not a Straight A student
-It's okay if you don't know what you want to be
-Adopt an introvert (edit for clarification: _befriend_ an introvert, they have trouble actively searching friends)

-Experiment, get in a little trouble
-Asking questions won't make you look dumb I promise
-Don't pop or scratch your acne. Acne doesn't last forever but acne _scars_ stay for a long time
-Don't try to be cooler or edgier than you are

-There's a 99% Chance that you won't meet the love of your life in highschool

Lmao I feel bad for the janitors at my high school. Kids flushing toilets with socks to clog it and overflow the bathroom and spray painting penises on the wall and they probably changed the mirrors 3 times last year because people smashed them oh and the soap dispensers would get damaged too and they would stab the bag holding all the soap and drip it all over the floor.

“Don’t take ap chemistry”
Me, taking honors chemistry in 9th grade: well shit
1st year Honors Chemistry was a breeze. The content is extremely rigorous and accumulative and you don’t want to fall behind. It sounds scary, but it helps prepare you for any AP/college class. I’d definitely recommend for anybody who is not majoring in a science.

AP chemistry is not the same as honors chemistry. Honors chemistry SUCKS, but honors don't compare to AP classes. AP is so much worse.
