We had supplied his northern alliance nearly 50 battle tanks in presence of Mr. Burhanuddin Rabbani, a greatly respected leader of anti Taliban forces. R. I. P. Ahmed shah masood.
He contacted indian embassy in Tajikistan for India's assistance.... Indian intelligence provided him with enough of arms and ammunition against Taliban's regime.... Alas indian youth doesn't even know about this man.
The thing about the great commander is that he was a human before anything else and truly fought for freedom and the rights of people , he got offered great wealth by the soviets , he they even offered him the entire north but he replied “ I am a simple man and a servant to the people “ ! A Fantastic Man even 18 years after his tradgic Passing he is still well thought of here in Australia and not just in the Afghan and Islamic Community. Yes we saw his courageous deeds against the USSR in the 1980's and the Taliban in the 1990's even thou he is portrayed as a man who is in his element during Wartime all he wanted was a fair go and peace in his homeland of the Panjair Valley the North East pan handle of Afghanistan it is a province that is an example to all of Afghanistan i also believe even thou he was against the Opuim trade that he would of grown it in capped Quantities and exported it for legitimate use in the legal pharmaceutical industry as well as other crops for his people.
