- Battle of Khambula (29 March 1879), part of Anglo-Zulu war.
British forces: 2154 men
1 x General (Cavalry)
11 x 13th (Semersetshire) Light Infantry
1 x Natal Native Contingent (180 African auxiliaries)
1 x Frontier Light Horse
6 cannon
Zulu forces: 9810 men
9 x inDlondlo
4 x inGobamakhosi
4 x uMbonambi Amabutho
5 x Udhloko
5 x UThulwana
3 x Zulu Snipers
The real forces was as follow:
British forces: 2,000 British troops and native levies
Zulu forces: 20,000 Zulus (estimated)
In the historical battle of Khambula not all the zulu forces were engaged. To simplify zulu army and because of the given reason, I used 10000 men. I used the submod British Units of the Second Invasion for Khartoum-Zulu mod for Napoleon Total War.
This battle was the turning point of the war
In reality the volley fire from that many troops would have prevented the natives from getting anywhere near their ranks.
Friendly fire cringe
Good channel, you have my sub :).
How did you place those wood car cover ?
Before you press start battle you can put your troops where do you like to be .Some units have have special defenses like this one
It must be on the right side of the screen
RIP aux 800 morts inutiles mdr
Прикольно и достоверно!
I hade a distant relative who was with Kitchener at Khartoum. I still have his bugle.
Where did the extra units come from? I can only access the 24th and the Warwickshire regiment.
I believe its from a submod (2nd invasion or something)
@@sebastiangebala9958 i think your right boi
Jorge el 90% de tus bajas fueron por fuego amigo!!! Aprende a posicionar mejor tus tropas. 😅
Lol no
Also its a good position
Oh nvm yep its true
Fun video.
I adjust my troops into 4 ranks. A tighter defense.
And It looks cooler to have more rows kneeling for the next to fire
This is a historical recreation. What Mr Martin is doing is controlled by historical events.
@@oliverjonesmilitaryhistory He was firing into the back of his own men, though. TW mechanics are pretty unforgiving in that regard.
@@lawrence142002 I do this sort of thing on my own channel. Admittedly, it was an awful recreation, however, he attempted to keep it as close to accurate as possible, meaning he would not be able to adjust his troops, on the threat it may be innacurate.
There were no wagon defences...
Yes there were.
The defences on Kambula consisted of a hexagonal laager formed with wagons that were tightly locked together, and a separate kraal for the cattle, constructed on the edge of the southern face of the ridge. Trenches and earth parapets surrounded both sections and a stone redoubt had been built on a rise just north of the kraal. A palisade blocked the 100 yd (91 m) between the kraal and redoubt, while four 7-pounder guns were positioned between the redoubt and the laager to cover the northern approaches. Two more guns in the redoubt covered the north-east. Two companies were placed in the redoubt; another company occupied the cattle kraal and the remaining infantry manned the laager.
@@lawrence142002 I'm glad you're saying that it was just to protect the cattle and not the whole damn battle field. So no there were not.
What map, good sir?
90% of your losses were friendly fire...
Shut the fuck up.
Booster_Stranger hahahaha or what?? Fucking dipshit.
1: When you say that someone was abused as a child is very offensive and could get depressed over it. 2: You tell people if they are mental could make them hostile, aggressive, and hurt by that word. 3: Fairies don't exist. You probably watch the Winx Club too much.
1: If I was being hostile, I would use excessive capital letters and exclamation marks. 2: If I did have mental issues I would have been in a mental hospital by now.
"Shut the fuck up." - booster_stranger this isn't a hostile comment? haha
not necessarily, there are plenty of people with mental issues that aren't in hospital. A tip for when your on youtube, try not to be offended by comments you see.
Every one of these I've seen the British lose is it racist to achieve victory what are you afraid of.
@Andrew Schneider Rorkes Drift was a British victory. They also defeated the Zulu at Eshowe, Gingindlovu and then finally destroyed the Zulu empire at Ulundi.
@Andrew Schneider The Zulus won at Isandlwana, Inyezane, Intombe, and Hlobane. The British won at Sihayo's Kraal, Rorke's Drift, Kambula, Gingindlovu, Eshowe, and Ulundi. There were a couple of inconclusive mountain skirmishes as well at Zungwini and Zungeni.
