I love how the shaky cam shows when Jason is not 100% in control of the fight but actually fighting for his life against an equal opponent. When he fights against random goons the cam is stable.
@@georgecchouchlias2965 OK... then try to attack a well-trained martial artist with a knife and give him a pen, magazine and towel and see who wins. You'll end up like the assassins.
Marie witnessed a killing and goes into shock. Nikki who is an agent witnesses a killing but remains okay. Great touches by the writers. And Desh was my favorite baddy. That back handflip was awesome.
He was supposed to have a broken leg and arm He probably thought to try escaping through that window and climb down off the facade, but he forgot he couldn’t command half his limbs and….of course. How he managed to get up is what’s open to question, plot twist?
Really REALLY, that start of cinematic brutal hand- to- hand & anything that comes to hand fighting! I personally love the lack of atmosphere inducing music during the fight scenes. And, now as we all know the Bourne franchise was the first to show how it really is in personal combat. It ain't glamorous; it ain't slick or cool, especially when it's do or die!!!
So none of those dudes Matt Damon was shooting during his role as Jason Bourne died or were sent to ER? How disappointing to know they didn’t go all the way in Method acting like Ben Affleck when playing with his best amigo
The second scene at the farmhouse has way too variable light. It was obviously filmed over hours or days because the lighting from one moment to the next does not match.
Little thing but I love his almost absent-minded “yup” here 4:12, a cool response to what is, in his mind, irrelevant information gathered by an untrained, scared and normal person - really great way of signaling how near-robotically programmed for covert combat Bourne must be lol. Already thinking about critical events 5-7min from now while an ordinary person is still processing what he understands with full operational certainty
Oh my God, Hollywood directors are either fools or they are really trying to catch the people. The guy is all beaten up, falls unconscious, falls to the ground and throws himself out of the window so that the protagonist remains in his own way. Minute 2:26. Look again.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Even as a guy myself, I don't like that Hollywood back then used to illustrate women exaggerated useless. What kind of women in the world would just keep watching, only with some scream, an invader fighting with his guy
I always thought the guy he killed at the training center was a guy who didn’t make it through the program, and that was their way of getting rid of him to keep the program secret. And if Bourne didn’t take that step, he would’ve joined him.
After the assassin goes out the window, why does Bourne make such a point of looking at his watch? It’s so deliberate it must mean something, but what?
I believe he was timing himself on how quickly he had to make it out of there before the authorities got there. Remember he tells Marie, they have to go and tries to shake her out of her shock. He had it timed to be out of there within a certain time.
What the other person said, hes figuring out how much time he has before authorities arrive. Hes a man on the move. every second matters, timing is everything.
He knows Paris. He looks at his watch because the time of day tells him what the traffic will be like and which roads will be most passable. I don’t even drive to the store without checking the time and factoring if I will be caught in traffic on the way there or the way back, or how long i can spend at the store and still get back before the roads choke up.
It also demonstrates to the viewer how calculating he is. Something shocking just happened, and he's checking minor technical details like it's an ordinary chore.
it's to know the time of death. Others do it in the movie as well, even when no need to know when the cops will arrive. It's probably a spy thing, and actually makes a lot of sense.
Did anyone else see the title of the video and think "Fuck Yes! I'm totally watching this clip!" because their wife/gf was away for the evening and you can get away with it quietly without getting asked "Why do you like this crap??"
ok... are the bourne movies NOT some of the best filmed car and gun play scenes ever? or is it just me? i swear i see one scene (if not more) at least once a year and i always compare it to bourne... its 2024 btw
i think the why is because trilogy all of bourne the car and gun scenes is more close of real than others and there is a story very more interesting, if a movie there are scenes good fight but the story is a trash, ruining all movie
yeah, if you think about it, it's the most ridiculous story ever. and amnesiac super assassin spy? lol it's prime example that even the most banal idea can rock, if properly implemented
Why "the shacky cam” technique detracts from a fight scene quality of filming and gets old really quick producing no excitement reaction to cause on the spectator other than confusion and revulsion at some point. For all you care, you could be as well watching Tyler Darden implanted subliminal or melee snippets from an amusement park speed ride. Just to prove it, imagine Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris well choreographed hand fight in the Roman Coliseum downplayed under such cheating low quality camera "work” and editing to trigger vomiting, and how many times you rather watch on replay same fight over and over again in endless delight. Rather get pulled off a tooth than going for a replay of a Jason Bourne close up blown fight botched even worse by the photographer and director while high and drunken editing
My wife Sue and I loved the Bourne movies. R.I.P. my beloved Sue.
may you find comfort
@@stephenziwada Thank you @stephenzow!!!
My favorite part of the Bourne fights is that any inanimate object becomes a game changer for Bourne. The pen is mightier than the knife. 😂
The best packed action movie that I had ever seen.....

I never thought of that, nice observation. I think it leverages the feeling of anxiety
Dude with his hands cuffed gave old Jason the best run for his money out of all of them. He must be #2.
he was one of the seniors, but i think Bourne's toughest fight was against Desh, if it wasn't for NIcky he almost got hold of Bourne.
It’s amazing how many punches these agents can take without swelling up like a balloon.
movie 1: knife vs pen
movie 2: knife vs magazine
movie 3: knife vs hand towel
moral of the story: don't bring a knife to a Bourne fight
Yes but it's only a movie!😂😂

First scene, I love how the attacker just keeps on coming, total determination to complete his mission, without regard to the cost.

More gritty and a better storyline than John Wick, shame he didn't want to do anymore films.
