Kaiba didn't survive darkness. They cut away before his name fades away like the others, but a few episodes later darkness all but explicitly states that everyone else on earth is "dead" by the time he duels jaden. So yeah, no. Yugi, kaiba, joey, etc etc all lost to darkness (offscreen).

The Satellite District was original Domino City while Neo Domino city tops ares is land and cities that was absorbed in Domino city because of Kaiba Corps. Hence the expansion of the city and brining in people across the world for work or try to become pro duelist. Which would explain why we seem to have more people of different ethnic backgrounds and non traditional Japanese games. Kaiba Corp more then likely funded the Dr.Fudos project and when it failed Kaiba corps tool the hit financial and reputation wise. If the Kaiba bros still lived then they probably lost some control in their own company or Iilaster started hunting them down are on the run.

Reiji vs Kaiba would be awesome. Yuya vs Kaiba would be great but not as good and Kaiba would squash tomato boy into ketchup. But out of all the legacy characters that were in Arc V, none of them are as popular as Kaiba. He would've overshadowed not only Yuya but Reiji, the new rival, as well. Similar to how bringing in Yugi, Judai, Yusei and Yuma would if they were in it. But there are those fantasy duel videos on this website and that's as close as we will get sadly.
Remember the timeline split for Arc V, and the dimensional counterpart legacy characters aren’t their original selves. DM through 5Ds definitely had Kaiba Corp, but Arc-V didn’t necessarily have one.
Kaiba Corp is still in business during 5D's. It's the tallest building in the city. It even says Kaiba Corporation on the screen during the opening of first episode as it zooms over to the stadium to show Jack making his appearance.

Honestly I always thought that stadium was the same one that everyone went to in Duel Monsters for the Battlecity Finals, right before Kaiba got everyone on the blimp. That was always my thought.

Thank you :) Even though it's not mentioned as the Kaiba dome in the sub, it actually does look like Kaiba's stadium from DSoD and that exact stadium is seen under construction during Battle City (the battleship from Battle City takes off at the same stadium where DSoD events take place). It could actually be the same or another dome that was built after Zero Reverse at the exact same place. It would actually make a lot of sense since 5D's timeline is not so long after DM.
You figure when Yugi was bullied by Tetsu, they were in high school, 15-18ish years old, and if 5ds takes place 20yrs after DM, that’d put Tetsu as late 30s-early 40s, prime age for someone who appears to be part of the police force at a relatively high rank.

I really loved that duel and I feel people don't talk about fusion in 5ds much as it does exist as jack and yusie use it sometimes and it's great to see some small kick backs on old shows. Definitely a great kaiba dome.
I know Multiple Piece Golem existed. Draco Equiste was interpreted as referencing Bonds Beyond Time. Synchro kinda checked Fusion out of the center frame during 5DS. It wasn’t till Arc-V that Fusion finally got the respect it deserved.

Gx to arc v with fusion being a major play plus the main character becoming the most dangerous enemy as everyone (except yusie) becomes evil and 5ds to vrains as the references and cast are similar but vrains had a worst cast overall. Arc v really went down hill after season 2 as things were either rushed or not done well. Just a few people like yugo and Yuri in the later part were amazing. Yuri especially was a dangerous fusion of Aki with plants and Jaden with talent to fusion but other than that not really

Characters I consistently liked in Arc-V played fusions including Sora, Yuri, Dennis, Yuzu, and Serena. Meaning I'm totally on team Fusion. Yami Yugi is never really evil either (excluding Season Zero), only Rafael thinks he might be evil. Yuma never totally goes dark either. There is one moment darkness gets the better of him when he plays the Barian card, and part of him did want to make friends with some of them, even being on the opposite side. I think it's exclusive to Jaden and Yuya, both in a Supreme King manner.
Talking about misconceptions - we often hear about centuries between Aporia's time and present time but, I might be mistaking but, I watched the arc three times in subs and I don't remember the characters talking about the actual time gap between the two

Uhh Dude, Rex actually talks about how he is in business with Kaiba corp while talking to Bommer in the sub. Kaiba corp did survive zero reverse. Also Seto Kaiba is very unlikely to have died in such a lame way. He's literally the most popular character.
When it's about Yu-Gi-Oh, watching only the dub is like not watching Yu-Gi-Oh at all since the dub changed too many things in each series, including story lines. You should watch the sub version of all the series if you don't want to end up with a plot that is not what the original creators meant it to be
Watching the finale of 5DS in sub is what I did too, liked it a lot better than GX’s undubbed part. I think you do get the gist of what each show is focused around even in a dub, and the sub is there to fill in holes. It’s gonna be there for my next look at the series, and I think it’ll be fun to check out.
Ah, so these videos are like that one episode of GX Where Chumley's dad was in charge of a hot sauce factory in the dub, whereas the original had it be sake. Admittedly, it makes it *_WAY_* less uncomfortable in the dub, and probably made kids with alcoholic fathers feel less threatened, what with the card "Flipping the Table" but still… That was uh… That was a weird thing to change it to.

So I have a theory we know that Goodwin owns the kaiba Corp in 5ds right what if kaiba and Mokuba died in the zero reverse thing and later goodwin took over the kaiba Corp and as a memorial to kaiba bros and all the other people he builded the memorial circuit and maybe someone on 4kids also though that the kaiba bros died in the zero reverse thing and he decided to change the memorial circuit to kaiba dome?
Another dub-ism: that's "Godwin"; "Goodwin" was applied via 4Kids, in what I can only assume to be an effort to excise even the _tiniest_ possible references to religion as possible with editing out "God".

Off topic: Someone may have confirmed this but I think Anzu (Tea Gardner) survived during 5D’s Timeline. She moves to America to pursue her dancing career after the events of Duel Monsters. Unless Zero Reverse was a world wide catastrophe.
Another interesting change the dub did, in episode 7, it was said the Crimson Dragon had ties to the Shadow Realm. Part me wonders if that may have served for the evil version of the Crimson Dragon in the 5D's manga.
Something weird that I notice is that Zero Reverse might be referencing the Light of Destruction from GX. I mean the light emitted after the NRD reactor melts down pretty much disintegrates everything in its path so it could be plausible for the reference. I haven't watched much of GX at all to confirm this but it's an idea I'd like to entertain whilst over-analyzing things.

I mean we do see the insignia of Earthbound Immortal Uru in the reactor. Come to think of it I think NRD is powered by some type of Neo-spacian energy since it appears as a mix of colors that cover the entire UV spectrum.

I kind of hate how the subs past GX have little to no reference regarding the other animes. Only DM and GX have ties. I like how the dub adds referencing and makes ties between them. They actually care about the timeline.

I don't get why you are making them all individual videos instead of just one big video for X amount of differences between the dub and sub. I'm still loving them and I appreciate the regular schedule. Did you do a video discussing the list of opponents Hunter Pace (dub names are easier for me to recall) beat before his match with Jack in the first episode? It was only shown in the original probably because translating the names to each dub equivalent was too much work than cutting it out.

off topic but did you ever wonder why Kaiba goal was always Atem? i think that Atem is Kaiba last piece of the puzzle, that one time during the manga Kaiba lost to Atem in the Death T games which resulted in his mind being broken by Atem and was left to collect the pieces to remind him what was important to him which was Mokuba but what if Kaiba never fully finished the puzzle and the last piece was having fun when playing games with the other kids and Mokuba at the orphanage, maybe kaiba was having fun when dueling Atem, something he never felt in years and Atem is the only person who can make Kaiba feel that way, thats why never let go of Atem in DSOD to the point of breaking space and time just to duel him again. He could have dueled yugi or anyone else or just go pro but he wasnt even pleased with the closet recreation possible of Atem in DSOD. sorry for bad english
Well biggest clue that 5D´s and the both before are connectet is the fact that there are duelists that use the duel disk introduced in Battle City wich wasn´t no longer in zexal.

From the last movie we can take Kaiba was more time in space/land of spirits than on Earth so it is hard to imagine he would have died in the Zero Reverse.
Dub really likes to add callbacks to other series, which is cool, but creates bunch of misconceptions. Funny enough, they completely deleted scene where Judai says he wishes to become King of Duelists and admires Yugi during his duel with Gravekeeper's Chief.

Honestly the timeline between GX and 5Ds is a bit ambiguous (some say it’s about 20 years later some say it’s more) but if we tried to pretend for a moment in GX, Kaiba would be around his late 20-early 30’s cause GX does state it’s ten years after the end of the original show and if the movie BBT was canon, it could imply that DM was quite some time ago when they looked at the Yugi article. That would mean Kaiba is like in his late 80’s to early 100’s if he were alive and honestly at that point I think he’s dead.

Personally I think Seto Kaiba long disappeared before 5Ds and probably wasn't around for Zero Reverse which is why it all went so horribly wrong. It would be nice to know what happened to him, but aside from a quick GX cameo he seemed to be off limits for future series to bring up.

Characters I consistently liked in Arc-V played fusions including Sora, Yuri, Dennis, Yuzu, and Serena. Meaning I'm totally on team Fusion. Yami Yugi is never really evil either (excluding Season Zero), only Rafael thinks he might be evil. Yuma never totally goes dark either. There is one moment darkness gets the better of him when he plays the Barian card, and part of him did want to make friends with some of them, even being on the opposite side. I think it's exclusive to Jaden and Yuya, both in a Supreme King manner.
Talking about misconceptions - we often hear about centuries between Aporia's time and present time but, I might be mistaking but, I watched the arc three times in subs and I don't remember the characters talking about the actual time gap between the two

Uhh Dude, Rex actually talks about how he is in business with Kaiba corp while talking to Bommer in the sub. Kaiba corp did survive zero reverse. Also Seto Kaiba is very unlikely to have died in such a lame way. He's literally the most popular character.

When it's about Yu-Gi-Oh, watching only the dub is like not watching Yu-Gi-Oh at all since the dub changed too many things in each series, including story lines. You should watch the sub version of all the series if you don't want to end up with a plot that is not what the original creators meant it to be
Watching the finale of 5DS in sub is what I did too, liked it a lot better than GX’s undubbed part. I think you do get the gist of what each show is focused around even in a dub, and the sub is there to fill in holes. It’s gonna be there for my next look at the series, and I think it’ll be fun to check out.
Ah, so these videos are like that one episode of GX Where Chumley's dad was in charge of a hot sauce factory in the dub, whereas the original had it be sake.

Makes sense, GX has a Kaiba Dome where Kaiser (Zane) duels Edo (Aster) and it looks completely different from what it does in 5D’s. It goes with proof that the English dub was built on lies. Also, giving the context for Memorial Circuit just sounds chilling.
So I have a theory we know that Goodwin owns the kaiba Corp in 5ds right what if kaiba and Mokuba died in the zero reverse thing and later goodwin took over the kaiba Corp and as a memorial to kaiba bros and all the other people he builded the memorial circuit and maybe someone on 4kids also though that the kaiba bros died in the zero reverse thing and he decided to change the memorial circuit to kaiba dome?
Another dub-ism: that's "Godwin"; "Goodwin" was applied via 4Kids, in what I can only assume to be an effort to excise even the _tiniest_ possible references to religion as possible with editing out "God".

Another interesting change the dub did, in episode 7, it was said the Crimson Dragon had ties to the Shadow Realm. Part me wonders if that may have served for the evil version of the Crimson Dragon in the 5D's manga.
Something weird that I notice is that Zero Reverse might be referencing the Light of Destruction from GX. I mean the light emitted after the NRD reactor melts down pretty much disintegrates everything in its path so it could be plausible for the reference. I haven't watched much of GX at all to confirm this but it's an idea I'd like to entertain whilst over-analyzing things.
Light of Destruction in GX is more of an extraterrestrial entity. So it could be called a reference, but it’s probably not correct

I mean we do see the insignia of Earthbound Immortal Uru in the reactor. Come to think of it I think NRD is powered by some type of Neo-spacian energy since it appears as a mix of colors that cover the entire UV spectrum.

Did you do a video discussing the list of opponents Hunter Pace (dub names are easier for me to recall) beat before his match with Jack in the first episode? It was only shown in the original probably because translating the names to each dub equivalent was too much work than cutting it out.

off topic but did you ever wonder why Kaiba goal was always Atem? i think that Atem is Kaiba last piece of the puzzle, that one time during the manga Kaiba lost to Atem in the Death T games which resulted in his mind being broken by Atem and was left to collect the pieces to remind him what was important to him which was Mokuba but what if Kaiba never fully finished the puzzle and the last piece was having fun when playing games with the other kids and Mokuba at the orphanage, maybe kaiba was having fun when dueling Atem, something he never felt in years and Atem is the only person who can make Kaiba feel that way, thats why never let go of Atem in DSOD to the point of breaking space and time just to duel him again. He could have dueled yugi or anyone else or just go pro but he wasnt even pleased with the closet recreation possible of Atem in DSOD.

From the last movie we can take Kaiba was more time in space/land of spirits than on Earth so it is hard to imagine he would have died in the Zero Reverse.
Dub really likes to add callbacks to other series, which is cool, but creates bunch of misconceptions. Funny enough, they completely deleted scene where Judai says he wishes to become King of Duelists and admires Yugi during his duel with Gravekeeper's Chief.
Kinda wish they did that more often in the original... it's like a little reward for those that saw past series.

If kaiba was alive since 5ds takes place over 50+ after GX that's 10 years after the original if kaiba was alive he was at least 80 years old

Honestly the timeline between GX and 5Ds is a bit ambiguous (some say it’s about 20 years later some say it’s more) but if we tried to pretend for a moment in GX, Kaiba would be around his late 20-early 30’s cause GX does state it’s ten years after the end of the original show and if the movie BBT was canon, it could imply that DM was quite some time ago when they looked at the Yugi article. That would mean Kaiba is like in his late 80’s to early 100’s if he were alive and honestly at that point I think he’s dead.
Ushio is still alive tho. and he's the same guy as that bully from the start of the series.
So if that's the case "Zero reverse" and if "Dsod is Chronology with the story then he did make it out of Egypt.

Personally I think Seto Kaiba long disappeared before 5Ds and probably wasn't around for Zero Reverse which is why it all went so horribly wrong. It would be nice to know what happened to him, but aside from a quick GX cameo he seemed to be off limits for future series to bring up.
