Surprised that this hit #1 on the Beatport main chart when tech house and deep house have dominated the charts for so long. Even though there are many many more drum and bass songs deserving of this top spot, i'm happy that DnB have topped the chart for once.

Wow. I've never seen a drum & bass hit number 1 on all genre chart. Typically a track that is #1 for d&b might only be 50 or so on the all chart. Agree with what you say; there are a lot of great d&b tracks that get relatively little attention, but I'm def happy to see one get up there.
The Beatport charts are mostly meaningless, honestly, compared to other chart sites. They're solely based on popularity and recency; basically top40 style but geared towards electronic music.
