Hello! An attic should be vented in most cases when insulating the attic floor (with cellulose for example), but sometimes it is not possible. If ventilation does not exist when I insulate an attic, I try to pay attention to how things look. If it looks okay (no moisture or signs of mold) I inform the homeowner and tell them to periodically take a look once the insulation has been installed.
@Trome1200 could you describe what asbestos smells like? Sorry I'm having a major issue with a smell in my house and I think the culprit is the attic insulation.
Hello, this system uses the type that begins at the hose. There is a little sprayer that hits the cellulose as it passes through. It is super nice and makes the job less messy.
A mess of warm or cold heat not lost. Blown in insulation is not a fun job but is the cheaper solution vs spray 3x as much or usually more when your already spending 1200 and your not getting the same r value yes spray seals better but if you take your time you can achieve close to same results for much less and spend that money on things that need attention else where.
Indeed my friend - I always encourage people to choose the least costly insulation solution. Why take the toll roads with traffic into the city if you know the less traveled route that is free? In some cases, however, spray foam is the better option to get the desired result.
i love doing this stuff. not so much animal barns though
so are you saying that you are doing insulation for cows, pigs and chickens? 😉
Question 🙋♀️ when I buy the cellulose insulation it offers a suggested material- vents … do I need those?

does this have a smell to it?
For the most part no. Perhaps initially when blown, but no residual smell 👃
Yes it has a great asbestos-type smell to it ;)

@@marimar6771 Asbestos does not really have an odor I don’t believe based on my research.
it does. its a faint cat urine smell.
Do you put the water in the hopper or do you have a wetting system at beginning of the hose?

You shouldn't be cupping, turn the hopper down
Thanks for watching!
How come almost no dust kick back
H2O 😊
What a mess
