Thatcher never really got a chance to be a father. Ellis ran away to Boston with her and never let thatcher see her. Doesn't make thatcher innocent in all of Meredith neglects but he wasn't the main factir
@@lukewhite9237 I agree. He definitely didn't cause the issue. Ellis did. Buy it didn't help that he was a weak man and coward. He should've fought harder for Meredith. Fought to at least be a part of her life. Even if Ellis stopped him when she was younger, he could've sent correspondences or even reached out to her when she was 18. At that point the choice would've been entirely up to her. But he took the easy way out, because it was easier to blame Ellis and roll over to her dominance than to actually fight against her
@@genicard6198 Nope, she was talking about Maggie, it was confirmed on their character pages, and she's thinking about the time they were together, not after she gave her up.
Webber: I know that the relationship between you and your mother is-
Mer: (thinking) *toxic*
Webber: Complicated
Mer: (thinking) that too
Webber : l liked that the
Chief is more of a father to Mer than her own father.

When she said she has to raise her daughter alone, she meant Maggie not Meredith
@2:29 talking about Maggie
That was my thought too
She’s talking about Meredith who she actually raised she gave Maggie away

It's Maggie the writers created Maggie in the original of Grey's. She just wasn't introduced until late
