Haha hear it is! I've been learning this song in lessons for about a month and almost have it down... It would be interesting to try playing it with your version. (They are actually quite different)
Now you have a couple options. :)

And I think you are one of the nicest people in the world. :) Thanks so much!
Hi Fiddlerman, are you still taking, at your discretion, requests for "A Tune a Week?" 😊 🎻♫
I am. What tune would you like me to do?
That's great Fiddlerman! The tune I have in mind is the song "Smile," music composed by Charlie Chaplin for the 1936 movie "Modern Times." It’s a tune I think you’ll agree that sounds amazing with any musical instrument especially with our favorite - the violin. Just imagine what you can do with this mellow and melodious tune when you - the Fiddlerman - bring feeling, phrasing, vibrato, and all that wonderful good stuff in your own inimitable style to the violin. But it's up to you. If you do, we'll all keep smiling! 😊 🎻♫
Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
You are the best teacher, thank you so much for your help.
I really appreciate that John. :)

+Fiddlerman
your welcome☺☺
Im a beginner!! but Im attempting to shitft to 2nd to 3rd positions (sometimes up to 4th) when I practice a song. Is that advisable to do? (I do that because I cannot do vibrato on an open string and I also cannot do a portamento from a string to a diffetrent string)
i think it is fine as long as the shifts are clean , your posture is fine , your comfortable ,and your intonation is good
btw i dont know if you know this already but to vibrate the open string (this is waht i do) let say 7 wanna vibrate the open "D" then I will place my 3rd finger on the "A" then vibrate it there which gives the open D a littoe bit of vibrato effect, though I am not sure how to do it on the open "E"
Absolutely. If I was performing this rather than teaching it, I would use a lot more positions but I try to stay in the same position as much as possible to simplify the tutorial for less experienced players. You seem to understand the importance of positions. :)
oh, is that a "silent vibrato"(that's what I heard)? anyway, as a beginner, my intonation is far from perfection. but I can know when Im playing w/bad intonation. then im gonna start over. and then shifting thing, I don't know, but it just comes naturally, when I shift, most of the time, I hit the right notes, and i get the fingering right. thanks for your tips. =)
Fiddlerman, yes, because im my opinion, it's more convenient to shift than to cross the next string (just my thought, I could be wrong) and then, the portamento thingy.. especially when the piece asks for it.
but when i try to sight read a piece, I try to stay in the first position as much as possible, then if i memorized it, I try to play it on a different position. is that a good practice? thanks anyway
I love your playing very, very much. I wish you always recorded videos like this video, Sir Fideler Man You are really creative
All love and respect for you
Many more to come. Thanks for your support. :)

Another beautiful tune, by the master
Thank you for your kind words!
Man these tones are just incredibly perfect
More coming soon. :)
@@1stfiddlerman can i ask you something
Do you have a perfect pitch?
@@1stfiddlerman when you put you fingers down on the violin it just like very very precise and in tune and i can't describe it more they're just perfect
@@1stfiddlerman I've been playing for couple of years and you know these tapes that put on fingers places i got rid of them and my entire practice is just to play in tune before i even start practicing it just really frustrating
@@melad3511 You know how most people know where to press the keyboard keys without looking? It's the same with the violin fingering. You need to memorize the distance on every note using finger patterns. Then obviously you adjust your intonation as you go along until the landing fingering is way closer. :)
It's a process but once you get those patterns everything gets easier. It's actually a huge reason for practicing scales, just to get the patterns down. :) Cheers!!!
Thanks a million
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful... thank you !
... I started to learn to play the violin thanks to you, and i hope one day I can play as well as you

❤❤❤
Is it just me or is he adding those quick little notes to the verse after the one that actually has them on his own? And added an up note at the end of second to last verse?
Variations. Sorry. :)
I try to write things that are simple enough for beginners but then I show that you can add trills and such.
That’s really in tune!!! Do you have any lessons or suggestions on how to play so in tune like you do?
That's a great idea for a video, Thanks for the suggestion. 😁
Thank you so much for your lessons. Do you remember what the strings you use in that time on this violin?. It has very beautiful sound!
Thanks. I am not sure but they might have been the Fiddlerman Strings. Thanks for watching.
do On The Nature Of Daylight pls
I added it to my list. Thanks for the suggestion.
Roger that!
Can we do “a tune a week Adgio from secret garden” 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I can't promise, I've been crazy busy, but I added it to my to do list.
Thank you so much for this, sir! I can play the entire song based on this video alone :)
That is great news. Thanks for watching. Have you checked out any other "Tune a Week" tunes?
Yup. Currently fixed my eyes on Love Story :)@@1stfiddlerman
@@amirahnadzir7761 - Cool. Good luck with it.
Thank you so much Fiddlerman. Is that ok to vibrate each note you play? Because when I do the same, my teacher finds it a bit of exaggeration.
It's a personal taste thing. :) Sometimes I like to do that and sometimes I like to do more with the bow and dynamics instead. Your teacher has his opinion, I have mine, and ultimately you must make your own. :)
Try it both ways, record it, and see if that makes it easier to make that decision.
One thing to keep in mind is that you can raise the intensity of a piece or phrase by waiting and growing vibrato with dynamics too.
do you have minus?
where i can find notes for it?Thank you
Check under the video. I have links. :)
Partitura por favor 🙏
Links to the sheet music under the video. :) Gracias
where I can get the sheet
Look under the video. Maybe choose "SHOW MORE". Cheers!!!

A tuna week haha
I never thought I’d wish I had Parkinson’s
I don't understand.
Fiddlerman
If I had Parkinson’s I would be good at vibrato
@@Fordhorsepower1 Hopefully you'll be better without it. :) Thanks for watching and good luck with your vibrato progress.
Fiddlerman lol, Thanks
