    I remember watching this the Sunday night it debuted on Fox...at my grandparents house. We were HOWLING watching this. Some shows, it doesn't take long. In Living Color and Chappelle's Show were immediate hits.

      If Jim Carrey was turned down for a Chris Rock or a Phil Hartman or a Chris Farley on SNL, then it would have been a wash and everybody wins, but if he was turned down for someone no one remembers, it's a different story. . . .

      According to "Homey Don't Play That! The Story of In Living Color and the Black Comedy Revolution" by David Peisner, Damon Wayans was a cast member on SNL. He was fired after less than one season after upsetting Lorne Michaels.

    The crowd was rocking and that was what made these sketches stay on the show according to Keenen who said it took for the network to hear the reaction from the live audience to keep the show the way it was.

    Oh my gosh, it's been almost 30 years since I have seen this and I still remember the opening theme song word-for-word. My sister wanted to be a Fly Girl so freaking bad. I remember her practicing the routines in our bedroom, lmfao!

    Looking back now it’s amazing how revolutionary this show was. Back then this was just way way off the chart and unheard of, and almost didn’t even get a chance. Yet it launched the careers of so many people. I was only a teenager at the time. I recently shared this with a much younger friend of mine who wasn’t even born when this debuted and she was shocked to learn about this show. Push it forward people.

    Fox was the best channel during this era. They had this, Married with Children, the early Simpsons. A few years after this Martin was started. I was a kid, but never missed any of these shows.

    After In Living Color they showed Tales From the Crypt which was also new that year if I remember correctly.

We all thought In Living Color was hilarious. I'm not sure, looking back, why she was not best pleased... She seems to be okay with stuff like that now. I guess being in your sixties can mellow you sometimes?

      I was watching something not too long ago and the character was "transitioning" and the scene that was the craziest was when the trans character went missing and the police show up and they were trying to describe the character and they spent 20 minutes on pronouns for someone that was supposed to missing. When I tell you this generation is wild😮

    I'm still watching In Living Color ! All these years later, I still laugh so damn hard, I wake up the house ! I feel privileged to have grown up with this show as a major highlight of my childhood. I think it played a role in broadening the perspectives of the minds of my generation. Amazing cast, brilliant show.. thank you In Living Color !

      Rudolph Manor Rudolph Please don't make me cry :"") this was such a happier time back then in that year than now. This aired just 5 days after I was born in 1990. This premiered April 15th of 1990 & i was born April 10th of 1990. Those were happier times back then. I'm saddened that so much time has passed since then, you know?

    The blooper reel of the show is hilarious. A lot of the ones from comedy GOD Jim Carrey would have me almost borderline crying just from laughing so hard, hahaha !!!!

    Just wanted to see how it held up. Love Connection was strong. Jim had a small bit but killed it. Men on Film was iconic. The black history skit was kinda wack to me. But what a classic. Even crazier watching now knowing that many of them didn't think the show would get picked up. The odds were stacked against them.
