I am a new suburban chicken keeper with six chickens. I got them as poets in the beginning of September. They say the skittish behavior will improve once they start laying eggs. I guess my coop is half the size of Your coop. I’m in the NE and using the deep litter method, open, it will create some heat energy or composting. Just to let you know, like your chickens, all six of these chickens huddle up together in the corner every night when they put themselves to bed.
