Sparkle (also a total cult classic) was also remade in 2012 staring Jordin Sparks, Whitney Houston, Tika Sumpter, Carmen Ejogo, Tamela Mann, Mike Epps, Derek Luke, etc. Both Sparkle films are inspired by the Supremes and that era of amazing, glamourous girl groups.
