🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses - even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds - just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos - but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.

I think it depends on what their saying but if it's just idle chat like "im gonna cut this" like talking out loud as if they were a patient, I completely understand the compulsion to do that even if it is a little strange. That's why I said it "Makes sense".

Am I the only one that feels like this is oddly intimate? I feel like being a mortician makes you closer to humanity as a whole because you literally see every aspect of the deceased- from gruesome murders, to less traumatic "natural" deaths.
As long as it doesn’t delve into THAT kind of intimate then sure

I liked the detail of him looking around after he did the first two cuts, since (and I might be wrong) blood doesn’t tend to gush out of a dead body due to the lack of a pulse. He’s probably thinking he’s just killed someone-

Maybe pressure in that part of the body? Like the gasses (i don't really know exactly either)
Sometimes the embalming fluid gets out of the body, but only if the mortician did a crappy job, and it's after the procedure is done or in the middle
Yeah blood does not gush after death because the blood flow just stops when you die, therefore there is nothing to make the blood gush out of the wound (it may ooze out though but not a spray like that). The blood with also make it's way to wherever gravity pulls it, though if I remember correctly it takes about 6 hours to do so. Also if I remember correctly they tend to drain the bodies of all it's blood before they start embalming it so by the time a mortician gets a corpse there's pretty much nothing *to* bleed (could be wrong on that part though).

I don't think you are going to enjoy the smell of cadavers in your nose for long... even the fresh ones that just started decomposing and are perfectly preserved in a cold enviroment will take your hunger away and probably your will to live in the long term.

@@TheUnMaka so sorry for the late reply! i barely check youtube! If you like math and science classes its the major for you. My program is only 3 years, but alot can range from 2-4 or 5 if youre going for more then just embalming and funeral services (ex. Criminal justice/coroner types). But i love it so far! Got two years left in mine!

My great grandpa was a mortician. From the stories I heard from my family. He said he heard a lot of dead people fart, gasp, burp, groan, and he even saw them sit up. I just wish I could've met him before he passed away.

The little pantomime bits are a big trigger for me. And honestly, I like the traffic and seagulls. They make me feel like I’m SOMEWHERE, rather than just I’m an isolated box. I do feel like I need some Bauhaus playing in the background though.

Interesting! I used to work at a funeral home, assisting the funeral director with preparation, embalming, cosmetics, dressing, etc. It was a neat job, but the schedule was horrendous and the industry in the States is too religiously stuffy for my liking, so I wound up deciding it wasn't for me. But I think this fella would be a fun mortician to shadow!
I'm begging you to bring this character back, i listen to this at least 2-3 times a week and its so ridiculously good it blows my mind. please please please consider one day giving us another like this, thank you so much for making it in the first place! 💕

I don't know if he’s based on a manga or he’s one of your imaginative creations my friend, but like many other commenters I too was thoroughly delighted by his ability to convey a plethora of expressions and emotions without a single word. As always, a highly entertaining performance SJ. I particularly liked the overall effect the lighting and filters created. The white against the shadows remind me strongly of one of my favourite watercolour artists Cate Parr, you know you’re really tempting me to draw you again right? 😊🤗

I love how he puts the needle in his mouth right after he stabbed it through us and was like "oh no, wait. What do you tasite like?" and then proceeds to tasite us again. Love it.
With the blood squirting in the beginning makes me think that he’s not an actual mortician. He’s more like some college guy who’s taken an interest to dead bodies, but can’t find dead bodies so he has to make one of his own. You know, experimenting on a living subject and exploring their body as they slowly die on the table for his own. Though with the intensity of the blood squirting I’d say lovely subject/viewer/listener would be dead from the artery being severed MULTIPLE times!

I'm a mortician and love my job, though the hours can be a bit daunting. Also, I use a scalpel, not a big-ass knife! 🤣
I do, however, use syringes like those, but to inject tissue builder, not remove anything. We use a trocar to remove fluids from the lungs, stomach, intestines and bladder.
What do you mean hours? Is it like long or do you work overnight and it just sucks.
@Xx_Enmu_xX we work long days and are on call most nights. I wish people didn't die after midnight or on holidays, but they do, and we have to pick them up and prepare them.

I've always wanted to pursue a career in mortuary science aside of that I'm a graduate student in criminology. This is quietly and comforting to watch in a dark and therapeutic way to cleanse and put the dead to rest... in... peace.

The shadows in this video are the MVP. Near the end I was really fascinated by how they landed on the character's face. So much good contrast going on!

I am someone who does taxidermy with my best friend (only on roadkill or animals that passed without being claimed such as a rabbit or squirrel). We don't desecrate the corpse as much as we can help it. Usually we collect the feet for religious offerings or for personal decoration. We usually end up rotting the carcasses and collecting the bones to clean if they have decayed or bloated too much.
I dunno thought i might share. Its an interesting process.
The lighting is perfect as always, you always find a way to make these so immersive, even if you are stitching us up! Excellent work!
