Excellent. It just shows that the UK can produce great drama with top actors. In many cases, like this, streets ahead of what comes from across the Atlantic
I don't understand why when you compliment the Brits fantastic ability for storytelling and acting that you then have to smear the US. Many great series and actors are American produced.
Great thriller 2 part series. Watched it a couple of times. British thriller are very well scripted and acted. Always like John Hannah. Trivia: John Hannah was training to be an electrician when he decided to attend acting classes in Glasgow. Aren't we glad he changed careers?😊 ❤ 1:11:29
What a great follow up to the first episode, Wow, just Wow, what talent there is in the UK. If Oscars were given out, the whole cast would qualify. The storyline, writing, and acting were superb. Thank you for streaming this series, just fantastic.
I dpn't get to see much UK TV, so like to watch the drama programmes on RUclips, but that has nothing to do with it, as a professional actress, I appreciate good productions on TV or theatre.@@riturajborah1481
An excellent program from start to finish. Everything about the show was amazing. The acting the writing all superb. It is unfortunate that shows like this in North America cannot compare to British talent.
king Charles and already not minding his own business and just being a ceremonial king. How long will they realise they're only puppets and they'll need to give everyone back to the people!!!!
I had to Google it bc I thought the same. He was high born but no mention of relationship to the Royal Family. The resemblance is uncanny. He died in 2022.
Certainly very good. Thank you. But are we really expected to believe that the criminal, in the sea with neither life-jacket nor underwater breathing apparatus, survived undetected, for the hour or more that the police launch would stay there searching for him? The weather conditions were all in favour of the searchers. There was no reason for immediate return to port: the woman didn't need any urgent medical attention, they have in a police launch all that was needed for brief immersion in a summer sea and a bit of shock.
There were a whole pile of life jackets floating not far away - he had thrown them into the sea minutes before the police boat arrived. ))) The weather did seem to be fine enough to make hiding rather difficult))))
And what was Mac dreaming occurred in the park with Luce? I get that the bad guy fiddled the bank records somehow, but why was there no trace of the two calls from Luce, or the ticket she bought to France in her name? Also not especially material to the story, but it bothers me that in that fine weather and wind they were motoring instead of using the sails.
A terrific thriller ! The British always turn out a great crime story, had me enthralled from start to end. Only thing that had me surprised, why did not the police act on the fact that the ' creep ' had no memory loss !! Also the ending was a shock, this monster is still at large and doing it again, he was a great swimmer !! Is there a third episode ? Regards from Melbourne. 😎🦘❓
The doctor professor, in order to protect his professional reputation, decided not to tell the police that fact [that there was no evidence of memory loss], when they interviewed him. He told the couple about it in his final meeting with them.
Highly implausible plot there is a certain similarity with Prey (John Simm, Rosie Cavaliero) this was an excellent mini series, plot and performance by all actors involved were soo good
Although I enjoyed watching, because the actors are so good, it left me with a few questions. Why did John Hannah keep having dreams that he killed his wife, who actually sent the letters? When Brendan Coyle admitted having an affair with his colleague and friends wife, why didn't Patrick Malahide start to investigate him? As he could have killed her. When Anthony Calf jumped overboard, how the hell did he manage to survive, he was in the middle of the sea. Who hacked Hannah's account? Who broke into his house?
All good points. We could assume that psychological stress and temporarily-poor lifestyle, with too much alcohol, made him confused, unable to sort out real memories from illogical dreams; also I think he only began the actual-murder dreams after hints in that direction by his colleague. The letters could have been sent by Calf, who was a hacking expert, which also, however implausibly, made him able to put false accounts into the bank and phone records. Hannah offers this theory, I think when in prison. Calf also probably had learned many details of his private life when breaking into Hannah's house [the reality of which break-in, Hannah tells Malahide [again during the prison yard interview], he'd been too unsure of to report]. But your other two points - I'm afraid we have to be polite and say, artistic licence!
@@christinepage181 No, don't - analyzing is good! Exercise for the little grey cells - or at least, reassuring proof that there are still some functional ones left... But yes, you're right, there is a balance. :) All the best.
I like the way that both of you are thinking! I have questions as well, my biggest being, why did Calf pretend to have amnesia in the first place? If, as we find out, this isn't his first go round at changing identities, wouldn't he want to stay as inconspicuous as possible? While that aspect didn't quite make sense to me, I still really enjoyed the series!
What a great story with a superb cast. I wish we had been given all the answers but it was very entertaining loose threads notwithstanding! Thank you.😊
Enjoyed this drama. When at end, keep in mind the detective saying, "Never say never," in answer to the wife's question. Dont want to spoil. Many comments shiw confusion. Also , lots of boats in the sea....think super swimmer and rescue?
So many unsavory characters: the cheating partner; the unscrupulous boss allowing his detective to be betrayed; the fake anmesia; the 'loving wife' aborting her child because she's just so busy...The only one that I have compassion for is the haunted detective looking for his wife. Perhaps, he should give up drinking...
If I were their boss, I'd transfer the officer who was sleeping with his colleague's wife, immediately, and forbid any contact between the two of them for six months.
“ it’s gonna be such a busy year. The timing is really bad.” Bet the writers thought this was a normal thing to say, because this actually is the world we live in.
After watching British shows, can never go back to American TV. ♥ from N.Y. .....
Me too!
@pattydwyer1234
Then you must try Russian TV shows!
True. The British mind is so much more perverted and preserved!!!
So very true. British crime and comedy are simply a league apart.
true!

That's not fair. The Brits were staging Shakespeare before the USA was a thought.
@g.immanuel3151 the previous comment was a compliment

Born raised USA, no shows like Brit shows😅
Marvellous. The twists and turns had me on edge - probably shouldn't have watched it at bedtime. The Brits sure know how to tell a tale.

They were fine but oscar-worthy? Hmm it takes more than that to win it. 🙂 But you are right about the British talent in acting. They are So good.
Either you don't get to see much TV or paid to comment.

Ikr, uncannily so. Perhaps has also played a part as his double sometime.

John Hannah is a terrific actor I love him in "Sliding Doors" (free on You Tube at the moment).
Unless he had a submarine parked or he can hold his breath for 30 minutes, there is no way that guy survives. Other than that, it was pretty good.
Agreed. Why not eliminate that last minute?
Thank You! 👍 Great show.🌻& I think Jeremy Child looks like King Charles III 🙃 ✌️☮️🌸
