You hear a lot of people complain about Japanese xenophobia, but that is always from the tourists who visit Tokyo or Osaka or the like. The parts of Japan that are not tourists traps are nothing like that. I live in southern Kumamoto, and I have never once encountered racism here. Everyone is glad to meet me, never been rude or unfriendly to my "half" (now aka "double") kids. I don't have any plans to ever leave Japan, nor do I miss life in America. I miss some of the food, but that's all. America means too many police, too much conflict, not enough civility, and too many stupid people who flaunt their stupidity. Japan, REAL Japan, paradise. If you don't agree, get away from Tokyo. Save yourself.
