I'm just going through all your old vlogs while waiting for the new ones...and I gotta say: I love you guys. :') You always make me laugh. Thank you for sharing all this with us!!
Loved hearing about the lenses you use Luke, being a photographer myself it's always interesting to hear what other people use and why they like them. Especially when it's from a Vlogger that you trust on the reviews.
@KBphat the tamron lens, you can find from amazon. as for the 50 mm, it depends on the on you want. the f/1.8 is about $126, but the f/1.4 is probably $500 at the most.
I think that was the greatest outfit of the day I have ever seen in my LIFE. I always wondered where you got that sweatshit and what that thing in the back was for. Now I know!
Before anyone buys a DSLR for vlogging, there are caveats: 1/ Usually there is no autofocus (as seen in some of Luke's videos). 2/ Only some camera have a flip-out reversible viewscreen so you can video yourself and can spot-check the focusing. Luke's 7D doesn't have this. 3/ With DSLR, the quality and features are mostly in the lens. Unlike the one-stop-shop of compacts, you may not find a single lens that offers stabilization, auto-focus, zoom, macro, etc. So you buy several and a big bag.
@frecklemonster20 The 5D, 7D, 60D, t2i, and t3i ALL shoot at the same video quality. They all differ in features and photo resolution however. I recommend the t3i (that is the one Ingrid uses)
@alg2391 His red vlogging camera is the Canon PowerShot ELPH 300HS, which has a nice 24mm wide-angle 5X lens. The aperture is only F2.7 so not great for low-light but better than some. The wide-angle lens is great for arm-length self-vlogging. The newer 310HS is not a replacement since it went to a 28mm 8x F3.0 lens.
this was awesome to watch and to see the differences in the lenses. i've always been interested in photography but i've always been quite confused about, your explained it very well and i liked that you showed the different things the lenses can do!
I really appreciate it when you make videos like this. Very informative and helpful, it really helps when you give demonstrations of what you mean as well. Thank you. Your work is always I would say professional. You deserve all the success you get :)
This video reminded me of my days working at the portable electronics department at Best Buy. Now I wasn't actually a really techy girl so I REALLY WISH I HAD SEEN ONE OF THESE VIDEOS WHEN I WAS STILL WORKING THERE!
I was thinking about getting the Canon T2i but now I'm not sure wether I should get the T3i instead... I would pay more for the flip screen, right? 'Cause in the end, it's all about the lenses...all Canon DSLRs are pretty good cameras! And I'm not a pro, I don't need a 7D or 5D I think,,, hmm...
@Fel726 I used to sell cameras and if I was going to say one thing its that Cannon is the type of Camera creator that made it for professionals and then made the product able to be used by inexperienced people they have a lot of automatic settings. I really like cannon because they were high end first as opposed to say Sony who were lower end before they attempted to create a good high end SLR
thanks Luke for showing those different lenses and actually shooting with them so you could see what they can actually do!! and of course the vlog itself was funny as usual :D
thanks for the tips on the lenses - i've been trying to figure out what lenses youtubers use for different purposes but nobody ever explains it! so thank you, Luke :)
I'm very curious about your opinions on cameras. I'm in the market. My digital camera (Canon SD500) is about 5 years old now. It seemed great when I first got it, but now video quality is the pits (not sure how it was OK 5 years ago, now sucks, oh well)...so many brands to choose from and so many opinions out there. I'm reluctant to buy something to fancy, scared I won't know how to use it! Thoughts??
i really liked the tutorial thing about the cameras and camera lenses... i didn't know anything before! and it was a bit informative :) which is nice. thanks luke!
Luke what camera could you suggest for someone that wants to be able to take photos for blogs and film good hd videos w/ auto focus as well. (if it exists) hehe :D thanks!
I have the t2i. I bought it, and then after a short while the t3i came on the market. I was so angry because I couldn't return the camera (It was 30 days return policy, and after 31 days the t3i came out). Oh well, i'm still sad, but I need to be happy for what I have! :) I was just wondering, wich lens did you use when you zoomed in on the bird? Because when I zoom in with my camera when I'm filming, it makes a ''zoom noise'', and then when I watch the video I hear the noise is so loudly! :(
Have you ever had a Nikon camera ? And if you had which brand do you prefer Cannon or Nikon ? I'm about to buy a camera so I would like to know what brand is better
luke, please do a little bit more indepth about your knowledge of canon eos cameras !!! i'm wanting to purchase one when i go to hk next week. mostly want to shoot pretty pictures instead of vids THANKYOU!!!!!!!
I felt like Harry Potter with the time travel clock that Hermione had while watching you vlog Ingrid and then hear the same thing again from different point of view in her vlog :P
I love canon so much :) but mine EOS 1000d is kind of sick at the moment :( software errors and problems with focusing and something like that... I guess I have to buy a new one...
Hahahahaha thanks for all the lens info one day I'm actually thinking of getting the t3i someday I don't have bulky cameras like those kinds but I kinda want t3i like so bad now
I actually have a Canon 500D and a 17 - 25 lens but I have no idea how to use it :') Do you have a few tips that could help me? I've had it for a while now, but I've just been taking amateur shots :P
question; we're going to get my dad a camera for christmas cos Im getting married (the day after xmas) and taking my big nikon camera with me, so my question is what small camera thats easy to use, takes good pictures and doesn't cost much would you recommend? thanks :)
@kimicantdance Ohh thanks for the explanation! :) I thought that all there is snow on Xmas USA, where I live here unless there is snow on Christmas, South America, at the end of the American continent!
I'm just going through all your old vlogs while waiting for the new ones...and I gotta say: I love you guys. :') You always make me laugh. Thank you for sharing all this with us!!
I love the intro and that I get to hear it in Ingrids vlog as well haha. I have it stuck in my head everyday and I love it!
Loved hearing about the lenses you use Luke, being a photographer myself it's always interesting to hear what other people use and why they like them. Especially when it's from a Vlogger that you trust on the reviews.
love you and ingrid! you guys make my day! was looking forward to this video the whole night.. just to let you know! stay gorgeous you guys xxx
i love watching both of their vlogs and then catching which parts are the same moments!!!!!! :D
I always sing along to the intro! Its absolutely AMAZING :) I love both your videos, I look forward to them every day :)

That first lense is AMAZING, I want it so badly.
I just bought a camera from canon yesterday! It's a canon PowerShot SX230 HS, so I'm pretty exciteddddd.
Each lens you put on makes Ingrid look prettier and prettier! :D
this was awesome to watch and to see the differences in the lenses. i've always been interested in photography but i've always been quite confused about, your explained it very well and i liked that you showed the different things the lenses can do!

@GlamPrincess03 Ingird uses iMovie on her Mac. Luke has mentioned using Sony Vegas and that's on PC.
At 8:25 "LOOOVE ME.." Haha I replayed that so many times! So funny.
The most helpful video ever when it comes to lenses, thank you! Just when I was thinking about the 50mm, now I'm decided.
you seriously are the most helpful person to watch when im looking to buy a new camera :) even though i cant afford any of this, it really helps :)
Remember when Luke didn't even know what foundation was, and now doing OOTD. Ingrid has done you well. :)
"That's something I really love about Target hoodies...is that they have hoods". Luke I adore you!
I accidentally paused it @ 5:10, left the room, came back and saw his face.......OMG!! LOL!!! you're my fav LUKE!!

@YeahRyo doesn't really snow in Southern California, or most of California for that matter (except maybe for the mountains, in winter).
Awww, why is scary ending back?? It's vlogmas and it should be full of joy!!!
SCARY ENDING ARE BACK! hell yes!
@davidjacoff yeah, it's the canon ELPH 300 HS (or something like that)
this has put me in such a good mood, mr looook!
thanks Luke for showing those different lenses and actually shooting with them so you could see what they can actually do!! and of course the vlog itself was funny as usual :D
I'm actually buying an SLR for christmas and it might be a Canon, thanks for lens info!
Ingrid looks soooooooo pretty!!

love how you gave us a little lesson on your camera lens i have a professional camera but i wanna learn more about it you should do more
I have always wondered whether the camera is a cannon 70 or cannon 7D. I can never tell!
I love the later and earlier. It reminds me of "on the next arrested development"
I love my Canon T3i! I've also heard that it's very similar to the 7D.
its so cute how they have the same intro!
i really love that you took the time to talk about the LENS and the camera!!! b/c I'm looking to invest in a really nice camera :)
I really want to know what that bird is!!! Super excited for new MoM stuff btw!

Luke i learn so much with your videos, and you´re making me be even more interested in cameras and digital stuff! Love this vid, really useful :)
I'm very curious about your opinions on cameras. I'm in the market. My digital camera (Canon SD500) is about 5 years old now. I almost have the same exact lenses you have. Except i don't have a fish eye and I have a 18-50mm Sigma lens instead of a tamron 17-50mm.
That bird is so cute. Love your ootd :D
Thank you so much for going over some lenses, I've been interested into looking into some for my canon. This was very helpful.
Luke what camera could you suggest for someone that wants to be able to take photos for blogs and film good hd videos w/ auto focus as well. (if it exists) hehe :D thanks!
I want your whole camera set up.. oh my!!
P.S. I was dying laughing at the last few things that happened in this video!
I wish I lived in LA instead of the UK - for you it's sunny and probably quite warm. For us here, it's 30mph winds and heavy rain, and it's awful!
going through theese vlogmas videos :) i love them!
dying for that 24mm macro, so cool!!!
Love your outfit of the day Luke! I *love* hoodies too (if you couldn't tell from my vlogs).
One of the most useful videos!!
Where do you find good cameras like that for really cheap? I have looked on amazon an ebay but it still seems pretty expensive :(
I have the t2i. I bought it, and then after a short while the t3i came on the market. I was so angry because I couldn't return the camera (It was 30 days return policy, and after 31 days the t3i came out). Oh well, i'm still sad, but I need to be happy for what I have! :)

I guess I have to buy a new one...
Are the Tamron and Sigma lens just as good as the Canon lens?
"When you get cold you can put the hood up, and if it's not cold then you can put the hood down." LOL! This made me CRACK UPP!
That was really interesting. Thanks for explaining the lenses, Luke!
Hahahahaha thanks for all the lens info one day I'm actually thinking of getting the t3i someday I don't have bulky cameras like those kinds but I kinda want t3i like so bad now
