Thanks Ian. A former work colleague said the I look like an American Cop in that thumbnail. As you can see the sun was in my face therefore I was videoing directly into bright light. I should have turned the car round so the sun was behind me. Can't beat playing radio in Gods own County. 73 Chris M0RSF
Good operating there Chris. You have a very similar vocal tone and accent to a guy I used to work with about 10 years ago, it was like listening to my old mate Andy Mac. Subbed your channel but I wont be joining you on SOTA any time soon, as I'm more of a valley dweller these days, due to my ankles being wrecked. 73 G1AW
Thanks Andy, I never thought that I had a strong accent but it has been mentioned before. Sorry to hear about the ankles not been good. Give me a call if you hear me on the bands. All the best. 73 Chris M0RSF
Thanks Tim. Something different from what I normally do but very enjoyable. Nobody has mentioned my little mascot on the dashboard next to my radio yet. 73 Chris M0RSF
Thanks Adam. There are plenty of interesting local high spots around to play radio from in the car. I should make the effort to do more because it's not weather dependant due to the comfort of the car. 73 Chris M0RSF
Nice video Chris... but where's the hat... lol...didn't recognise you on the 1st picture...so used to seeing you in these videos with ya hat on... 73's
Thanks Nick, it was an enjoyable hour or so. I did have QSO's with people who called rather than 'your 59, 73 QRZ? though I edited quite a lot out of the video. 73 Chris M0RSF
Hello Dave. Otley Chevin doesn't count as a SOTA summit but it is a HEMA summit G/HNP-027 The Chevin. Operating from a vehicle doesn't count but as it's only about half hour drive from my QTH I will be up there again no doubt. 73 Chris M0RSF
Great video Chris, so many times I say to do well on vhf & uhf to go mobile. Same situation for me home qth is useless for radio . Unfortunately I have to travel a fair way to get any hight with the car in the south, just over a hour drive but is a popular spot so often already taken . Same options of mobile and portable. 73 Matt 2E0FGX
Hello Matt, I often hear people complain about the lack of hearing any activity on VHF/UHF as they aren't in a decent location. I don't often operate /M even from high ground. Perhaps I should do more as the comfort and shelter of the car is useful. Better than getting battered by the wind and rain doing mountains. The Surprise View car park on Otley Chevin is very popular. Of course it's for everybody though I try and avoid it as not to get pestered. 73 Chris M0RSF
Good one Chris! By the thumbnail I was expecting more sun and blue skies :-)
