    An alternative to biscuits and gravy, is to break up Ramen into tiny pieces. Don't use seasoning packet. Instead, use 1/2 pack Pioneer Country Gravy (the pack makes 2 cups gravy). Use only 1 cup boiling water. Ramen is flour and tiny pieces makes it easy to eat with a spoon. Can add bacon pieces if you have it.

    Love this video! Thank you for taking the time to lay everything out & explaining what everything is . So many people on RUclips don’t take the time to explain everything this well!

    Can i ask why you removed the Mountain House meals from the original packaging? Those mylar bags are considerably stronger then the ziplock bags with less chance of breaking or puncture.

    That was great! You answered questions I didn’t know I had. Where do you carry your food bag? Do you stuff it in with the rest of your gear or attach somewhere else?

    Might be too late to comment on this vid, but why would you take a recipe on the trail that you haven't tried at home first?? "It MIGHT taste like pad Thai..." LOL!! You're gonna be SOL if it tastes like crap! Good luck!

      @@HikingwithBraidsif you liked tha you should try beef Ramen, 1 to 2 packs of peanut butter, a 'slice of Lime' pack and some crushed up Chilli lime roasted cashews. Absolutely fantastic on trail lol. Leave a little bit of broth it keeps the peanut butter more creamy I think.

      Kootenai Lake - Fire activity Here is a a link to the page where I found the closure. home.nps.gov/applications/glac/infobull/closures.cfm I called the backcountry office and they said it might be open by the time I get there. If it isn't, they would reroute my trip.

    great ideas. just HATE all the ziplock bags. We go to enjoy nature but pack in the one of the biggest pollutants (single use plastics) to nature. you took things out of bags made for hot water in bags and wasted that packaging to put it in ziplock bags which gets used once, thrown away and will never decompose. There has to be a better way

    • @BushcraftNFun
      @BushcraftNFun 2 года назад +1

      I use a single silicone baggie to "cook" my food and just reuse the dry bags for each trip. So less waste.

    • @lw2968
      @lw2968 2 года назад

      @@BushcraftNFun Love that idea. All my food is places in a scent proof bag. I take only things i can heat/reheat in original package and maybe 2 large ziplock bags. one bag ends up used as my trash bag and the other snacks i am not eating that day. It may be a few extra oz in my pack but a lot less plastic bags and cook pot use since i am usually only heating water.

    Do not believe this woman. She does not have braids. She must be an impostor.
    Pumpkin spice latte? Seriously? Guess you wouldn't care for my $1.99 store brand instant. Would you happen to have room for one more person? Jealousy is rearing its' ugly head...
    Will you guys be using bear bags, or canisters? An AMC buddy uses a soft bag, with an odorproof liner.
