Thank you Mama and Papa Mercury for giving us the worlds greatest singer.... we will always miss him

Mr and Mrs Bulsara actually: according to the footages, the artistic leaning was from her mum's side: she was a very good pianist and loved art so he was surrounded with that atmosphere even before he was born.
His Mum probably deserves more credit --- she supported Freddie's musical dreams whereas his father disappoved of it and thought it was childish

I agree. She did. And seeing how proud she was of him is so sweet. I've seen many videos of her. She seemed like she was the sweet little old lady that you couldnt help but love to pieces.
He had a great Mum --- the movie seems to indicate she supported his musical aspirations from the beginning but his father didnt --- not sure if this actually true or not ??
Freddie had really a great mum but when she past away??? Which year, thank you when someone can answer my question ;-)

I remember having a conversation with a Scottish friend abot music, and I happened to mention that, as Indians we were super proud of Freddie Mercury. Confused, she was like "What's he got to do with India?!". No matter how much I insisted she just couldn't believe Freddie started life as an Indian. A Wikipedia search later she was like, "Oh my god! He WAS freakin Indian!". The smirk on my face was strong af lol. But having said that, thanks to Britain and their amazing platform for rock n roll, Freddie was able to find his space to become one of the greatest frontmen in rock history. Thank you Britain and thank you Freddie. Your voice still resonates everywhere.
I hope it's because everyone has already seen it? It was incredible to see him, and Queen, come to life again!
The theatre was full when I was there
@Yelizaveta Ursuliak Parsis are more Indian than Iranians. They have been here since like the BCEs.
Other famous Parsi Indians are like Jamshetji Tata, Dadabhai Naoroji etc.
And who said he knew Arabic? He didn't. He spoke Gujarati at home. An Indian language, just like all Parsis do.
And even then, Iranians don't speak Arabic. They speak Farsi.
@Yelizaveta Ursuliak- no, his mother tongue was Gujarati - an Indian language. HIs parents were Parsi-Gujaratis. Meaning, his parents spoke Gujarati at home. Plus, Old Persia AND (NEW) IRAN have nothing to do with Arabic LOL. Please, study some geography LOL.
@@methmemelab8819 Which theatre are you referring to and in which place ? i saw the movie last December in Colombo, Sri Lanka at 1/30 in the afternoon and there was a substantial crowd for an afternoon movie, in a country that does not speak much English !

Interviewer: "Your birthplace was... Zanzibar?"
Freddie: Yes, that's right.
Interviewer: What were your parents doing there?
Freddie: They were freakin' out... hahaha!
I really love his gentle speaking voice and clear, posh accent (sounds posh to me anyway).
After watching this, I feel like there should be a whole Netflix series on his life, from the very beginning, starting in Zanzibar and India.
Happiest n sweetest person of the world who had all his good relationships until last breath.May God always give him lot of happiness wherever he is now.
Dr. Beast omg here we go again. The movie is a biopic it was meant to be dramatic even in the end of the credits it says that the scenes are dramatized and fictional. I do agree there should be a movie only about Freddie’s life though but then again he was a very private man so I think bohrap is okay.
Thank you and I thing Malek is not the best choice, he is too puny and doesn’t resemble him
Well, he learned the "proper academic" English in school in India and other Queen members said how it was ironic that he spoke it better than themselves, who were born and raised and never left England. haha And he had quite an old-fashioned accent, and they joked no one in England except him and Queen Elizabeth II spoke it.
YES MRS.BULSARA FREDDIE LOVED LONDON,THAT IS WHY HE BOUGHT GARDEN LODGE 🙏💖💖💖💖😭😭😭🇬🇬🇬🇬🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🎵🎵🎵🔥🔥👑
I wonder why there’s still no museum for Freddie? I’m sure millions of fans all over the world would love to see his early paintings, concert costumes, photographs, favorite books and other memorable relics. Mary should have opened one in garden lodge, imho.

Apparently his family was wealthy according to Mrs Bulsara’s words about having servants working at their home back in Zanzibar. That’s new for me, now I see the roots of Freddie’s classiness and aristocratic character.
Mild middle class income can afford your servants back then. In England they couldn't afford.
Ofcourse they very Rich less than elite but upper middle class but they had to leave it all behind.
Will never see a showman like him again. God bless you Freddie.

Happy birthday prince of Persia. ... We will love you forever 💗🎂🔱😙😍💗
He wasn't really Persian, but okay.
@Hissam Ullah - she is right. Indian Parsis are ETHNICALLY Persian, "ethnically" being the operative word. But in reality, after a 1000 years, few Parsis are completely PURE Persian. There has been intermarriage with both Hindus AND Muslims. Research it. In fact, Freddie/Farrokh was probably LESS of pure a "Persian" than I am a Bengali, especially because of the subcaste I come from which up until this century had strict in-caste marriage laws. It's nothing to be concerned about. Freddie's family -- exactly like the movie described -- is Indian Parsi, not "Persian."
@@indranidasgupta8982 Well I dont like to get into this sort of thing, but Ill bite. You kidding me with those purity laws & in marriage laws within your subcaste ? Probably no other ethnicity in the world has stricter purity laws & in marriage laws than parsis. Its come to a point where thier extinction lies ahead. From genetic standpoint Parsis of India are more closer to Pre-Islamic Iranians that is i.e. The Sassanians, than modern ones who have received an admixture from the near east. Modern Iranians have mixed extensively with Turks, Arabs etc. While Parsis have minimal South asian admixture which is also suspected to be present before their arrival in India due to ancient Elamite admixture with the persians. The Elamites being a dravidian civilization in Iran. And again Parsis arent hindus or muslims they are Zoroastrians. Most of them are Indian nationals too, no second doubts about that.
@@mator2339 -- sorry to burst your bubble there but there are very few cultures outside of India who have stricter marriage and purity laws than the Brahmins and their subcastes of India. I'm living proof of that fact, lol. Oh, and I know what I'm talking about lol. I know many Parsis who have married outside, both Muslims and Hindus. India has already had a half-Parsi/half Hindu prime minister! Please pull the other one.
@@indranidasgupta8982 First off I wasnt even talking about Brahmins, they are clearly mixed. I know that.
And Parsis who have married outside arent considered parsis by their own terms of self-identification. So half parsis arent parsis.
Source-- I have met many parsis who have told me explicitly that children from mixed marriages arent considered parsi and they are not allowed to enter their fire temples. But they also told me this is just "their" that is i.e. the parsi traditionalist way of Zoroastrianism, the Iranian Zoroastrians and Parsis outside of India and Pakistan allow children of mixed marriages and conversions too. So the technicality still remains valid. You are only parsi if you are born to both parsi parents who were themselves born to both parsi parents. This is the definition of being a parsi. All others stand null and void. Anyone who wants to follow the Zoroastrian faith can do as they wish but not through the parsi traditionalist manner. They can either have self belief or through the Iranian Zoroastrian manner or the Zoroastrianism that is practiced outside of India and Pakistan.
And I don't know about your clan so I apologise, it might be as strict in intermarriage and conversions as well.
Жаль, скучаю... Ты был, есть и будешь всегда!!!!!
We never forget Freddie!
What an absolutely gorgeous baby he was too.
I will always love you KIZZ
I can watch and listen to Freddie all day!! He was such an amazing soul.
Merry Christmas Freddie Mercury!
He was originally an indian. He went in his own country for education. As his parents were originally from india. He was just regretting his roots.
Huh? He is Indian Parsi because of his parents not just Indian and he was born in Zanzibar. He loved London. His parents were traditional Parsi. Your comment is ignorant because Freddie didn’t regret his roots, if he had love for London maybe it was because he had very good memories there
@@elliehernandez9069 Freddie never called himself a parsi. Nor did he ever reveal that his parents were from gujarat. He even went to say he's persian. He only called India as a place of his education. I don't know why Freddie lied about his identity. But he was truly hiding his roots from the public. He never revealed his parents in the public and told to change the topic when asked about his family, saying its boring, during his interviews. No one ever knewed where he came from. And the video you see him talking about zanzibar and India was not revealed by the media late until his death. He kept too many secrets and lies to cover up his background.
@@dcfancomics1314 He kept it under cover because of racism he would face and he wanted to be mysterious. I am from Zanzibar and it always amazes me when peopñe say hes Indian, he said he is not and his sister until today says she and her brother are not Indians and it makes sense, the guy's ancestory is Persian and he was born and grew up mostly in East Africa(Zanzibar), except from 8 yrs til 14 yrs(which even at that, he use to go back to Zanzibar every time school closed), so i really do not understand what makes him Indian?
@@islandmussa6291 In modern day the word persian refers to ethnic group of iran and its relative countries. Freddie was a parsi of Persian ancestry. But the roots goes back to 1000 years ago. And parsis are not pure persians. They have mixed with Indian haplogroups when they first arrived as due to which they lost their persian mt dna and then they went for anatomy. His mother never identified as a Persian for sure. What his mother said in the movie is a fact. In the poonawala book her mother identifies her family as Indian parsi. And calls herself gujarati. Even rami malek called Freddie a gujarati. You cannot identify a person by his 1000 year old ancestry. That is why the movie makers never used that to identify him. Parsi is an ethnic group of india. They have Indian history and culture. He only identifies with the parsi community. People of ethnic groups in iran are wrongly equating him with their pride by calling him a Persian which is very wrong. How can a person equate with the people with whom he doesn't have any history. It's like calling myself an African. Cause we originate from Africa centuries ago.
@@dcfancomics1314 listen, Persians did not call him Persian, he Freddie called himself A Persian Poppinjay, when people asked him what he was, he said Persian, his sister calls herself Persian, they get annoyed being called Indian, so who cares what Rami Malek an actor who never meet Freddie has to say(i loved Ramis portrayal of Freddie, he did a good job). After all Freddie looks Persian and not Indian, go to his school days pictures, look at one pic where freddie and 4 other fellow students where standing sideways and close to eachother, those 4 other students are Indian and look Indian, but Freddie distinctly looks white and Persian. As a matter of fact Parsis did not mix with Indians as much as you might like to think, i saw a report 2 or 3 years ago that Indian government was encouraging Parsis to mix with Indians because Parsis were starting to face extinction due to inbreeding(first time i heard humans facing extinction in modern times) and Freddies parents are cousins. I am from Zanzibar and we get blamed because we dont accept Freddie and people think we dont because of his sexuality but not really! It is because he never claimed us or displayed pride in Zanzibar soo why should we go around claiming him and calling him one of us? We have more pride than that and not that desperate to get approval from the West. And as a Zanzibari, i can tell you he has alot of our mannerisms, he is definitely Zanzibari breed. Persians are not claiming him either, it is just they see someone who looks exactly like them and he(Freddie) use to go around saying he is them. This desperacy of claiming him only comes from Indians, which is ironic because he rejected that emphatically and his sister continues to do so until today, you have to have more pride than that as Indian or maybe you are trying to gain credit from the western world? You should not care about that crap and have more pride as an Indian, it is a beautiful culture.
Happy birthday to a true legend
I love you Forever Freddie
