She was my Dad's Cousin. I knew her all my life. She was a lovely person. She never wanted to leave Low Birk Hat. My Dad tried to persuade her to leave on many occasions but it was all she had known for all her life. I remember her Mother Lydia and her Uncle Tommy Hauxwell. They would help us at hay time and we would help them at hay time. After my Dad passed away she spent Christmas with my mother on quite a few occasions. She was always happy to see my children at Christmas or "The little folks" as she called them. She definitely had a way with Children and animals. A very gentle soul.
Her love of animals radiated in her gentle smile. From her photographs, her skin looked amazing despite her desperately hard outdoor life. Sleep well now Hannah. 🌹💞
What a beautiful video. Hannah Hauxwell was such a kind person, beaming with joy event though she had a hard life in the country; How could she cope without minimum comfort, having to endure the cold climate of North England, looking after her cattle, etc ? It is extraordinary. how is it that people found out about her as late as 1972 ?
Been watching the modern documentaries with my granddaughter about hill farmers and thought of this remarkable woman Hannah Hauxwell I’ve read her books years ago and just found the video of her funeral the amount of people leaving the church just shows how much this remarkable woman meant to so many 😢
Such a wonderful lady. I also loved watching when she or anything about her was on TV. have video and books. It makes me scorn today’s ‘must have a new kitchen etc philosophy.
Beautiful portrait of her such strength of character to endure the hardships, one of the most materially deprived person yet she seemed happy and fulfilled no quality food ,clothes, home comforts she was one in a million. If heaven does exist her soul deserves to reside there bless her.
I had the great pleasure of meeting Hannah in Leamington Spa many years ago when she appeared at the Spa Centre theatre. What a lovely lady to have met and spoken too
It’s hard to believe that there are still people living this way in this day and age with all the technology whoever didn’t someone step in and help her.
@@simonzonenblick395 yes I do my parents knew her from the tv we went to the farm and it was like a priory ruins but her home before we went to cobblestone village and she was there in her garden had photos taken which she was willing to do i must have been 10 yrs old or so but she was a lovely warm welcoming lady may she rest in peace I hope she is a millionaire up there
Aye, a bit flighty that lady All those children to look after, and then to have her head turned by one of the TV Crew. I know she has to follow her heart, but going to live in the first place with someone about 20 years older would be something to come to terms with, and it was a bit cruel to the fellow and their children. Some might say it was a bit calculating to get the cameras in so frequently, and the temptation for fresh romance was too much not to yield to. Contrast that with Hannah, a maiden who'd hardly had a kiss stolen from her.
@@noelsalisbury7448 the Yorkshire Chocolate Flake advert … no heart, no soul, no brain 🧠 Shame tho, the public just seem to believe it; mind, she seems to actually believe it when claiming the filming was real and raw 🤣😂🤣

To live such a hard, simplistic and isolated life, and to be so dedicated to her family home, land and animals. What a wonderful woman she was. R.I.P
Such a wonderful lady ♥️ RIP Hannah
I agree.

Looking at her face, there are no lines of bitterness. If there are angels on this earth, Hannah must have been one of them beautiful human ❤️

She did not want that. And she was utterly accepting and content. Not seeking help

Seek and you shall find ?
Wish I only had the time to read what you where saying in this video comments are far to fast
You didn’t leave the captions up long enough to read! Grrr……..
Who is this lady?
May the angels sing you to your rest and mankind hang your head for you are poorer now .
you have her year of birth at the beginning as 1926 and at the end if video 1924.
a mistake which I will rectify if I find it is possible to edit.
Great women. At the start she was born 1924 but at the end it reads 1926. Still great lady.
Yep,my mistake. Maybe I should split the difference and go with 1925?

Did you all notice that by the end of this video Hannah got two years older 🧐? Nice send off though.
