Edit: SDDM screen is half loaded. Black on the bottom, shows on top. If I click the session button on top, the whole screen loads, but moving the cursor away to click my profile makes the black part come back ToT Also can't seem to login yet... i know back with slim and xfce4, it was create ~/.xinitrc with an exec command in it, does KDE require anything like that with sddm?
@@sheridans not interested in KDE. Extremely interested in Wayfire on NVidia (gtx 750 ti) Seatd starts, dmesg shows NVidia, even some audio hdmi devices are seen. But when client asks- 0 GPUs found :( Thank you for your videos!
You can install minimal KDE Plasma, by executing pkg install plasma5-plasma
Yup, thanks for note!
Thanks for the tip about Wayland, I was about to give up on KDE/FreeBSD until I watched this.
I forget about it every time I do a new install 😀
Thank you for the videos. I was wondering how to install FREEBSD the right way, until I came across your channel
@RoboNuggie does some great FreeBSD videos
Why do we need "operator" group? Aren't "video" and "wheel" enough?
In most cases yes operator group gives read access to raw disks

Not with sddm but you could disable sddm by putting "exec ck-launch-session startplasma-x11" in .xinitrc and use "startx" to launch the session
So KDE 5 does not work with wayland,is this correct ?
I haven't tried it with wayland recently, there is a section in the manual, I'll have to take a look at it again.
@@sheridans I'm trying to do the same but with KDE 6...
@@ZioMarietto I'll have to try this, would be interested to know if you get it sorted.
