      6:45 yeah but not really, sometimes it's just for a visual experience as in a recent movie F1 and more of cinematic ,visuals,direction and story all of these are checkpoints before booking a ticket.

    I hope film comes back soon to India both in theatrical experiences and shooting movies, recently Jugnuma was shot on 16mm, and with the boom of large film formats like 70mm IMAX, film def should come back to India

    I am still a fan of celluloid films and it's in demand, only big production houses like yours can fill that gap. I would be happy to see if you come up with something on celluloid films in India as well at least as an experiment.
    Film is film always.

    Just in this clip alone film has overshadowed digital. Can’t fathom how much better dangal and lapatta would’ve looked. Raw and gritty. Even if they’re projected on digitial, just like this video, the medium on which the content is shot speaks for itself.

    Digital is just tv on a big screen. Its called film for a reason.

  • @SumanSagarwala
    @SumanSagarwala 2 months ago +2

    It matters to shoot on film simply not only because of its technical superiority over digital but its immersive quality that touches your heart, which digital can so far not replicate. Yes, people buy tickets for the story but how do you elevate a story to the next level using the many aspects of cinema and one of the most important foundation of filmmaking is FILM.

  • @nri6878
    @nri6878 2 months ago +4

    I still feel digital has not been able to replicate the depth and feel of a film. Christopher Nolan is few of the directors who refuses to go digital be it while filming or when projecting in theatres (IMAX theatres in USA and few other countries have still retained both film and digital projection system).

  • @hiteshdhawan1

    It’s actually not unlimited takes …. You need big hard drives which fill very fast while shooting and are very costly as well.
    I shoot in RED for example and the footage is heavy … and if you’re on a budget your limited by the digital storage as well

      Actually both mediums have their pros and cons. But quality wise, I don't think it holds enough ground. Because after post production, the final results matter. And in today's world where exhibition is totally digital, the film label doesn't make any sense. But of course the only Winner is the story. If that's good, you're set.

    A heartfelt and grateful thanks to you and your team, Aamir, for deciding to take up the topic of choosing films VS digital, a perennial confusion for a student of filmmaking. 🥰
    Being extremely passionate about this field and trying to do every bit and piece devoutly that I can (considering my academic commitments which are not forced, of course) - including reading a lot of books on filmmaking (including 'The Art Of Dramatic Writing' which you often recommend and which is just amazing), studying the works of the stellar artists, including Ray, closely, and penning stuffs and ideas on a regular basis to creatively fueled - this video has truly helped me a lot and enriched me deeply, instilling the belief to just believe in your vocation and go ahead, once again. ✨
    Once again, thanks a lot for this wonderful initiative. ❤

With each project his importance for choosing scripts that celebrate humanity and connection to the heart ❤️
    His perception n cinematic journey continues to remind audiences that authenticity and quality never goes out of style. Loads of appreciation for shedding light ❤

    Digital ho ya film, agar studio light and structured pehle hi ho movie to achha rehta hai. Vo texture and crispy film ka digital mai bhi dikh sakta hai. But studio haina raat hai par din kar dete.

    if the film is preserved well then its timeless. unlike digital. films from 70s 80s 90s hell even 50s have the potential to look better than most of the films from 2000s shot on digital. film doesnt have resolution. it has soul

    MOVIES ARE FAILING BECAUSE 1) NEARLY 90% OF SCREEN IN MODERN MOVIES LOOKS BLUR...
    2) DARKNESS OR VERY DIM LIGHTS IN MOST SCENES.
    3) HYPERFAST SCENE CUTS...
    4) OBNOXIOUS COLOUR GRADING...
