I am surprised at the fact that Harumasa is the most interesting character to me RN story wise, and I can not WAIT to see his agent mission when 1.4 drops. Loved this demo and hope to still see a teaser soon as well.

My current theory is that Harumasa and perhaps other kids were experimented on, with Harumasa been one of the few successful ones, but he lives on the edge afraid he might turn at any moment.

Reason he is always napping in S6 office is coz he feels safe with the rest of S6 around him, alone in his room at night his trauma takes over and he cant get restful sleep.
Nagi says "no" to his sick leave so he isn't stuck alone in his hospital room
but she lets him nap as much as he needs to there...
What if harumasa actually tries to get out of work sick partially because he feels like he's dragging down S6? It could be a mix...

but i really do think haru partially wants to get out of work because he's depressed and can't bother, but also partially because he feels like he's being a pain to the others there
which might also explain why he's so over-cheerful/plays comic relief while he's with them, because he's made things super sour/awkward in the past.
At the very least the way nagi in her demo treats him contrasts quite a bit with how she shits on his attempts to get sick leave, she doesn't wake him up she just spins him around so his sleeping posture is better.

0:34 and 0:47 he has injection scars that are slightly noticeble 3 minor dots and 1 major injection punction, thats why he wears a chocker to hide it, hoyo really out here making things relating to chockers to a dark past
2:05 another major injection is seen and it proabbaly meant that Harumasa was experimented since young and caused a certain illness to him, afraid to become an Ethereal, it seems that as a child he did became one and was somehow turned back, maybe his ether corruption was just enough to cause significant changes but not enough to cause a full change

3:15 possiblily Harumasa as a child and the reliving of what happened to him, Or the longer he stays in the Hollow, the longer his apperance seems to change but have the mental state to be alive

I just found that Harumasa has the exact same eye colors as Sunbringer. So is there any possibility that there are actually many people were transformed just to fight Hollows? Like creating a perfect soldier? And Sunbringer might be the first successful subject?

I think Harumasa originally had blue eyes. The liquid he was injected with was yellow, and he has one blue eye and one golden one after the injection
The doctor in the shot where Harumasa is young/in the hospital bed is wearing the yellow headband just like older Harumasa does.

That or vice versa, where the thanatos was used as a template for him
Rather than being tested on, how about Asaba was being treated? Could he have been found in a hollow and he almost turned and was found and was being treated to suppress or even cure the corruption?
And part of his past was he half transformed and killed someone on accident which basically gave him his trauma.
That could absolutely be the case as well, but knowing how the ZZZ world is Lore wise I would not be surprised if it being tested on for the darker tone. Or maybe a mix of both, they tested on him to create new cures for Ether corruption

I really loved this demo, it gave such evangelion vibes, i'm really happy that they are going to give 1 copy for free, i mean, he does seem really relevant to the story and this next patch.
I can't stop wondering about how are they going to do new versions for previous characters (like S-Rank Billy), how will it work in game... it is just crazy.
Harumasa is amazing, and him being a key factor in the story is so interesting.
What if the H meant Helios Academy. What if Wise and Belle don't know what messed up things went on there, but everybody else does?

Isn't it possible that the agents of H.A.N.D. are experimental test subjects? Even if not all the sections but some of them as pilot groups. They might be taking many people from many age groups that show potential for these test and Harumasa might have been taken in in a very young age. Section six does look like it with every member of it when taking the previous "Unknown Area, Signal Disconnected" teaser. Also, the trust event with Yanagi having a temporary blindness in scott outpost can be taken as example to this. That issue may be not caused by the oni blood as people suggested previously (at least completely), but about the "modifications" she mentioned that she went through, which I think are experiments done by H.A.N.D. on their agents. H.A.N.D. was the first to get interested and analyze the Sacrifice in detail too. I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow connected to the original experiment with Sacrifice if not they were involved first hand.

I'm wondering if that kid in the "I'll get you home" scene was his younger self. The hair matches, and the kid's eyes range from blue to yellow as "Harumasa" approaches.

One thing I’m wondering: Considering there’s a potential he can transform into an Etherial (uncontrollably?), could he have been deliberately put into Section 6’s best team right next to Miyabi at all times as a failsafe?
As a renoun voidhunter, Miyabi could potentially subdue him if he ever transforms uncontrollably…
Maybe it’s all for a reason he’s there and that he’s not very interested in the work; he doesn’t have a choice.

ZZZ turned me into a fiend. All this lore and movie scenes make this game feel like mote than just a game....but as in you are taking part in a movie about times to come. I dont mean to sound pretentious, but these guys are the goats for this and i hope they dont take this hard work and dedication away and zzz just become another pointless/ purposless roaming fightimg game.
As a certified waifu enjoyer, ZZZ has been making me really care about the husbandos. I'm genuinely interested in Harumasa more than Miyabi story wise, just seems more interesting.

In Act 1 (Prologue), we fought Dullahan (not Thanatos), who was transformed from Miguel Silver. Dullahan is armed with a sword and shield. (Miguel Silver had a sword but no shield, iirc.)
This hints that other Dullahans existed before Miguel Silver turned into one. (Plus Anby knew its name, rather than being surprised that it was a new type of Ethereal.
