Hopefully the Grammy nomination will give Haywyre the attention to really make it big. Watching his musical releases all these years I really feel the pain of how under the radar he is despite his huge talent :(
Not to sound negative but there are far more both technically and melodically talented artists/producers which are actually under the radar with a hundred times less views or recognition. I even think all these grammies, trophies and the like are more of an identity phenomenon rather than an actual artist/producer contest. Everyone wants his favourite artist to win, except with modern technics, what people prefer, a.k.a. the top of the cream producers, are followed for what they offer best : subjectivity and in-group belonging. In that case, it means winners are producers which regroup the most common concepts in our society. But to win you have to cut everything that is too subjective, like neurofunk basslines, fast tempos (except for Rock, Swing and a very few genre umbrellas), too complex breaks, etc. It also means you'll have to add vocals because it's the most understood instrument for most people, and synths because people are already used to them for decades already, etc. You end up with tracks like Wisdom. It's a very good track, well produced and designed, but a lot of its concepts are common and that's what I call a good "commercial" music. It's well above average, and it even brings new concepts on the table, but not nearly as much as his older stuff. You have to check when Haywyre started producing. It was much much more "fresh" or innovative, because at this time, his scene was much smaller and with higher standards. Listen to Dichotomy (Soft Mix) and you'll see how crazy intricate and musical it was. None of the artists that stayed in the Glitch-hop / Neuro-hop community ever reached millions of views. I think even both the top 3 artists that stayed don't even reach Haywyre's popularity and success, yet they are far more talented (not to be insulting to Haywyre, he's also crazy talented). Listen to Culprate - Deliverance, KOAN Sound - Polychrome or Tipper - Insolito. Sorry for the wall of text.

I watched his livestream in 2017 when this song was just a concept and something he was just messing around with. I was waiting so patiently for him to release this song. Four years was totally worth the wait. Amazing job as always Haywyre!!

Gave me "a little perspective" on how special each Haywyre release is. Sometimes it can take a bit for one of your tracks to grow on me, but this is amazing straight out the gate so "I wonder" what I'll think of it in the future.
