Hi! Right now, the producers' meetups are on hold, but we’re planning to bring them back soon! Keep an eye on our social media for updates - we’ll announce everything there. Stay tuned!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! While Delano Smith is primarily known for his contributions to house and deep house, his role in shaping Detroit’s underground electronic scene - and its crossover with early techno - makes him an influential figure in the story of techno’s rise. Paired with Juan Atkins, their legacy is undeniable in shaping the sound we celebrate at VANTEK!
@@vantekgroup Sorry, but not agree. Delano Smith has nothing to do with the First Wave of Detroit techno musicians. There are only ones Pioneers of Techno - the Great First Wave. Names like Atkins, May, Saunderson, to a lesser extent Fowlkess, Hood, Pullen, Larkin, AUX88. As for Delano Smith - is the new school of Detroit (with Scott, Huckaby etc). He started in 2003, what about "techno pioneers" we may talking.
@@panicattack_ Thank you for your comment and for highlighting this important distinction! You’re absolutely correct that the First Wave of Detroit techno pioneers includes legends like Atkins, May, and Saunderson. Delano Smith’s contributions, while not part of that initial wave, are deeply rooted in Detroit's underground scene, blending house and techno influences. His legacy lies more in his role within the city’s second wave and beyond, preserving Detroit’s electronic sound and inspiring countless artists. While he may not be a "techno pioneer" in the strict sense, his influence is still an important piece of the puzzle. We appreciate the discussion and love for Detroit’s rich musical heritage! 😊
