Y’all gotta realize the algorithm is a reflection of what yall watch. If the video essays you get are trash… stop engaging with them. Every video essay channel I watch has well researched and thought out videos on interesting topics.

There are black youtubers that do mind nubbing content but there are many black youtubers that have quality content. I've seen a lot of black youtubers that are gamers, commentators(both political and nonpolitical), reviwers, video essayist, etc and that are pretty good ones as well. I personally never watched a 20v1 from a black youtuber before. You have to watch a 20v1 to get it on your algorithm.
The amount of black RUclipsrs that exist with quality content really is understated. Unfortunately black people only want to be entertained, not educated. Many of the suppressed creators are both. Myself included.

Same but I will say I hate that when I watch black creators like RDC or Sean, I always get RUclips recommending “black” creators who are super hood or sexual, which isn’t my preferred content. So RUclips’s algorithm sometimes tries to sneak them in just because they’re black. I just say I don’t like the video and they go away but it just gets annoying that RUclips seems to group all “black” creators together.

It's just oversaturation. There's alot of video essay channels making very mid plagarised or lazely written essays with lack of valuable research and filling the topic discussed with complete filler. As with everything, you just gotta find the good apples
A big problem is how people watch them more than anything. If they have good production and/or a good voice or hell even if they just confirm your biases, they can just steal or make up any bullshit and most people ain't gonna give them a second thought until they get called out. You have to watch them more than anything with a grain of salt.

I’ve never heard of any of these people because I just tailor my algorithm based on what I enjoy. RUclips does try to sneak in random black RUclipsrs that don’t match what I like just because I watch black RUclipsrs with content I DO like, but if I hide them any time they come up, I never see them.

Our guy’s literally a part of the over-saturation machine he’s supposedly railing against but isn’t very aware of it.

The creator we’re reacting to has similar racist undertones as Destiny/Ben Shapiro and is appealing to their audiences. Mr Beast does a similar ‘give away all your personal information for a giftcard’ promotion all the time on his community posts and no one says a damn thing. Truth is, younger content creators tend to be loud and annoying; that’s how they keep their very young audience of children engaged (think Jojo Siwa or Jake Paul in the 2010s). It’s also weird that he’s watching black creators in a genre he seems to dislike. Go find other people to watch like ShitsnGigs, Shansphere, Khadija Mbowe, Kevonstage, Cydnee Black, D’angelo Wallace, Kat Blaque, Kenny J.D. etc instead.

If you want a real conversation segregation never ended and never will. Segregation is more than just going to the same schools and shopping together. Most races black white Hispanic asian spend majority of their time around their own people, in their own communities, going to their own grocery stories etc. Chicago is one of the most segregated cities today. People have a misunderstanding of desegregation and the whole movement. For most of everything it's still pretty segregated just not legal to do it outwardly like it was before.

I miss the MWN era. I was looking at his old content and did he delete a lot of videos? Some of the videos I used to watch as a kid don’t seem to be up. Nonetheless, his now, TBH era is not bad. Doesn’t have that edge or fun factor as he used to but it’s enjoyable. Seems he went that more straightforward and mainstream route with what he’s doing now.

Yeah, when black YT started hitting its stride in the 2010’s it was the start of subjective, yet somewhat decent content. Especially during the skit meta. The other weird side of black YT is there specifically because of the algorithm which (yet again) influences the meta. A LOT more younger kids are on this app/website as opposed to 10-15 years ago.
You kinda need a bit of pull to get 20+ ppl in a room for your video, so you'll see just a handful of people making this content. On the other hand, these freaky ass "prank" videos really are a blight in "black youtube". Like Shawn said, it's pretty easy to avoid content like this in general, but thing is, older folks are not the target audience. The algorithm push these videos out to the younger audience since they are the ones watching them, and then after that, the algorithm gets really aggressive with it's recommendations. These prank videos can made by anyone, so there is just a shit ton of them floating on the website made by a bunch of nobodies. One night, I was in the groupchat and we were just going across youtube and sharing screenshots of the crazy ass titles of these videos, and just making fun of them in general. I swear to god it took over a month until youtube stopped recommending these videos, no matter how much i clicked "dont recommended content like this". I do think the hypersexulized content on RUclips is primarily made by black folks. Idk bro, something changed after Obama left office. There has to be a connection 🤔

There are black youtubers that do mind nubbing content but there are many black youtubers that have quality content.
I've seen a lot of black youtubers that are gamers, commentators(both political and nonpolitical), reviwers, video essayist, etc and that are pretty good ones as well.
I personally never watched a 20v1 from a black youtuber before. You have to watch a 20v1 to get it on your algorithm.

There is a niche for every type of content but no content gets people clicking and watching like smash or pass, find your match, 20v1, etc. You see who all is in these videos. Once someone thought of the idea to start adding actual celebrities it was a wrap. They are okay videos just for entertainment but the videos have devolve into asking the same sexual questions. These kids are going to eat it up. People that look like them, celebrities, girls, promise of $750.... but hey its a business at the end of the day. Young entrepreneurs.

A big problem is how people watch them more than anything. If they have good production and/or a good voice or hell even if they just confirm your biases, they can just steal or make up any bullshit and most people ain't gonna give them a second thought until they get called out. You have to watch them more than anything with a grain of salt.

If you want a real conversation segregation never ended and never will. Segregation is more than just going to the same schools and shopping together. Most races black white Hispanic asian spend majority of their time around their own people, in their own communities, going to their own grocery stories etc. Chicago is one of the most segregated cities today. People have a misunderstanding of desegregation and the whole movement. For most of everything it's still pretty segregated just not legal to do it outwardly like it was before.
this is a question that i think comes from a huge misunderstanding on your part and anyone who assumes black people are sperating themselves from anything. everything has a category, a community, etc. that comes with specific trends, tropes, and that comes with specific content. saying something is black twitter is no different from saying anime twitter or stan twitter and so on. this isnt detrimental to anything, and it narrows down the topics to something more specific that might not be analogous to everything in every category.
black people are not doing anything exclusively, especially to imply this is divisive or problematic is silly.

giving something a category creates segregation in itself, like black youtube, or even saying things like black creators, they’re all just creators and should all be referenced under the same category. Racism is an issue mostly dominant in the U.S. because we continue to talk about race and such and giving these things categories. BHM is american history, no need to segregate it into its own category.
Tell that to the people who discriminate based solely on skin color. If that issue was not present, we wouldn’t need things like Black History Month or Affirmative Action to undo the harm caused by said discrimination.

You kinda need a bit of pull to get 20+ ppl in a room for your video, so you'll see just a handful of people making this content. On the other hand, these freaky ass "prank" videos really are a blight in "black youtube". Like Shawn said, it's pretty easy to avoid content like this in general, but thing is, older folks are not the target audience. The algorithm push these videos out to the younger audience since they are the ones watching them, and then after that, the algorithm gets really aggressive with it's recommendations. These prank videos can made by anyone, so there is just a shit ton of them floating on the website made by a bunch of nobodies.
One night, I was in the groupchat and we were just going across youtube and sharing screenshots of the crazy ass titles of these videos, and just making fun of them in general. I swear to god it took over a month until youtube stopped recommending these videos, no matter how much i clicked "dont recommended content like this". I do think the hypersexulized content on RUclips is primarily made by black folks.
