Alvarez 12 are so OP, but Laxus is still Laxus so he would still clap any of the weaker members. I think August was lowkey saying Ajeel would have been KO’d by that attack lmao.

Spriggan 12 were all insanely powerful, but they got crazy nerfed during the war.

Brandish wasn’t actually trying to beat anyone
August never lost, he killed himself
Irene didn’t lose, she also killed herself
Invel lost to Demon Slayer Gray who is OP
Wall lost to Laxus, who is OP
Ajeel lost to Erza who is OP with backup from Bisca
Larcade lost to Kagura, Sting, and Rogue. Sting is also his direct counter.
Jacob Lessio lost to Natsu + Lucy and he had the weakness of being a pervert. He was not gonna beat Natsu anyway though, Natsu was way stronger than him.
God Serena lost to Acnologia 😅
Bloodman lost to Gajeel who is OP and his direct counter
Neinhart was not even that strong (prob weakest member) cause he was limited by who he could summon, and he lost to Erza/Jellal/Kagura who are all very strong.
So Spriggan 12 are OP and have lots of hax, but they go up against other hax, OP characters, or they purposefully lose. The only reason good guys won is because both Irene and August killed themselves, cause otherwise they were way too powerful for anyone to defeat. They proved that. Dimaria probably has the most crazy hax to compete with those two, but Ultear is the queen of hax so 🤷. It all checks out, really. Hiro Mashima said he wanted all Spriggan 12 to use magic that was so OP that it was like cheating, and that’s what he did. He did a very good job coming up with how they could lose realistically in the narrative.
@ because the Fairy Tail members got a lot of plot armor (more than usual) or had Acnologia interfere in the fight.
And it’s strange that not a single member on Magnolia’s side got lost during the war despite the clear difference in abilities and power.
Of course they never defeated the true powerhouses like August or Irine.
@ Ok, but who had plot armor and when? If a character survives an encounter vs a strong opponent, it’s not automatically plot armor. Plot armor is if they survive an encounter where they should have died realistically, but there are good reasons that they all survived.
Makarov is the only one who kind of got plot armor, but he wasn’t even fighting Spriggan when that happened. Plus, why do you need people from the good guilds to die? That doesn’t fit Fairytail’s themes or
Mashima’s writing.
Also what fight did Acnologia ever interfere in during Alvarez arc?

Ajeel was so powerful that he took on everyone with no problem. It’s still saddening that he also got insanely nerfed during the war!
They were not fighting close to their full potential and light August said he would definitely have lost to laxus with ease

Laxus wasnt going for a retreat attack but was going for an kill shot
would have better if this look was maintained for August. He would have been more terrifying. The problem with Spriggan 12 (including God Serena) was that their entry and powers were amazing, specially Irene. Having the title Magic King, it felt pretty lame of August to have copying magic and getting beat by Gildarts/Cana. Him committing suicide doesn't mean he was unbeatable. He definitely needed a better showing of magic knowledge and power. Brandish entry was also equally awesome. In the end, i feel they could have shown that Spriggan 12 were beaten utilizing fundamental magic with the help of Mavis. Could have made for a more interesting story line while keeping the power levels at a limit.

Ajeel only survived because AUGUST, of all people, negated Laxus's attack. Otherwise, Ajeel would have definitely died.

The problem with this anime is , although Natsu is the main protagonist, he ain't the strongest.
END was over hyped, in the end we didn't even get to see END revival or it's true power.
Plus Acnologia ( The strongest character) gets beaten down by one humongous friendship punch😂. That's totally hilarious.
Zeref( after absorbing lumen historie) gets burned down by Natsu's fire.

In short " Everyone goes out from guild to do their job, get's attacked by enemies, they fight , " some friendship dialogue" and everyone wants to go to home (guild)😂😂.
