this is how I imagined Mothra in the movies... flying around like a literal glow stick blasting god rays at gidorah and rodan flattening buildings while at it.... but we got a fucking melee fighter! a freakin butterfly they turned into a melee fighter. the literal physically weakest kaijuu turned into a melee fighter! she is a special attacker and should not even be fighting up close with her enemies!
I think she could've easily chopped off all three heads of ghidorah in the Boston fight (when she silk ghidorah to the building) but she chose to silk them because she is smart. Ghidorah can regenerate heads when they are around radiation or heat (the volcano) so when godzilla would've gone thermonuclear, and he definitely would even without mothra dust, ghidorah could just harness that energy and revive themselves ghidorah is a apex predator but also a parasite (post mothra death we can see ghidorah absorbing godzillas radiation) . Also, in her sacrifice scene mothra knew she had to die because ghidorah needs to die and from one theory I read that the only reason godzilla didn't die after going thermonuclear is because of mothras dust kept him alive, so she could've blinded ghidorah and chopped off their heads but it would only be a matter of time before they come back because ghidorah is really hard to kill as proven by gvk
I have a theory why Mothra and maybe other arthopod titans like the MUTOs are so big i think Mothra and other titans like her have bones inside their bodies or an endoskeleton like we do and they probably have breathing systems like invertebrates and vertebrates like arthropods birds reptiles mammals and others
