However, icons like Michael Jackson made Spats very popular in his Smooth Criminal video and his Moonwalker film in 1988. I actually own a pair of pure white spats with Paisley teardrop etchings that were made in France and I snap them on to a pair of shiny, plain jet black patent leather shoes and I’ve always said that the 11s gave off the vibe of the Spats, especially the Concords. So there’s no surprise that they went for a formal look, especially considering Michael Jordan and Michael Jackson were legit friends. They even did a music video together called “Jam” and they both killed it. Cheers.. 🥂
