And how can we know, moment by moment, whether we are being efficient and effective? Very simple: examining, at every moment, the feedback we receive. Our intelligence, as individuals and as a species, is directly proportional to our ability to be efficient and effective in solving the problems that afflict us. Dictatorial and autocratic governments not only ignore feedback but prohibit citizens from providing it, punishing those who dare to do so. Therefore, they are dumb systems, causing serious problems, as history has shown. And precisely because they are dumb systems that impose themselves on citizens to exploit these citizens, autocracies and dictatorships have no legitimacy. One of the reasons, weaponry potentially still in storage, was one of the reasons for deep concern as to the Russian resolve to take the salt mines at what seemed near to any cost. The possibility of something having been left there prior to Ukraine independence and not recovered by the Russians being a real possibility.
