“Chaos Rings III” for the PlayStation Vita is a game that has garnered a variety of opinions. Here’s a comprehensive review based on various sources:
Gameplay and Graphics: The game is a turn-based Japanese role-playing video game, keeping consistent with previous titles in the series. The visuals are gorgeous, especially considering the hardware it runs on. Despite the presence of low-res textures, the art style is solid, and since it’s displayed on a small screen, even when it’s on the Vita, low-res textures aren’t a bother.
Battle System and Story: The battle system is great, and the story is quite fulfilling, with the climax treading crazy territory in all the right ways. The game takes place in a world where adventurers arrive at the coastal city of “Neo Paleo” to become “Explorers” in order to travel to the heavens: the planet called "Marble Blue".
Characters: Chaos Rings III has five playable characters. Unlike previous games in the series, parties are now composed of up to three characters, and the two inactive characters are also able to receive experience, albeit less than those in the active party.
Critiques: Some players have criticized the game for its convoluted design choices and the presence of numerous game mechanics from other games. However, others have found it to be a fun game with an interesting story, well worth the price.
In conclusion, “Chaos Rings III” offers a rich RPG experience with its engaging story, solid art style, and great battle system. While it has its share of critiques, it still stands as a game worth trying for any JRPG enthusiast.
