all these comments are from a different time in the world! I'm 20 and heard this for the first time an hour ago, cycling through a street in East London as the sun was setting. The bike became an extension of the music, I became an extension of the music. The bike flowed through traffic and everything was wrapped in this surreal track. I'll remember where I first heard this track forever.
Loved your comment so much (youngster). The same happened to me back in 1999, driving through the streets of Frankfurt and Underworlds Jumbo was playing on the radio. First Underworld tune I ever heard and that day I became a great Fan of this Band. Since then... I listen constantly to their tracks and this tune, from Second toughest of the Infants is my alltime favorite next to Juanita/Kiteless. A dream of mine came true when i saw them live back in 2016. Please don't ever stop listen to Underworld. 🖤 Love from (an old bag 😉)
@@solasistim336 Dear Old Bag, I loved your comment too. It just goes to show how uniting and compelling Underworlds sound is, and the fact that two people from completely different times have such a good memory of the time they fell in love with them is amazing. I’ll keep listening to Underworld for as long as I live, and hopefully one day I’d be as lucky to see them live. 💙 from the new era
Welcome to the wonderfulness that is Underworld. I remember when I discovered them, what a great feeling! It’s a journey that has served well for over 25 years. Good taste, Sam.
The running theme of using their music as a driving soundtrack is telling. They really do create a fast, rolling journey, their music elevates any road trip, in fact making the reminiscing feel almost as good. If I could have a torrid affair w/any sound, its theirs, lol. No other lyrics will ever sound as sensual, as special to me🌬️
Perhaps my favourite Underworld piece of all. The subtlety, the intricacy, the atmosphere... everything is just impeccable. And then that final climax of "Sappy's Curry" - that's some of the most imaginative and innovative electronica ever produced. I feel like every time I listen to this epic I hear some new element. What a perfect album this was (and still is)!
You cannot describe this song....only that it is the most epic, timeless, magic and brilliant one ever created. You will never hear anything like that...again. Underworlds Masterpiece! I wanna die with this song in my head.
this song when you died keeps you in another plane, an interestalar place where you will see the truth of this life , of the world , of everithing .. but you just will not be able to do anything anymore . then you will fall asleep crying and thats the end. we never really existed. never. never.
Dark delirium? Love that, lol How can this music evoke such diverse incredible reactions obviously born from passionate reverance & gratitude. I hope new listeners read the comments & can better grasp the enormity of influence these guys had on people. I always wanted to have a club hold a tribute night & play full albums, guaranteed max capacity!😌👌
I'm listening to this when I'm sad, when I'm happy, when I'm high, when I'm falling asleep, during rainy days, during sunny days i.. I'm listening to this all the time, always bring me a different feeling - and that my friend.. Is art
I bought and played this new in the mid 90's. I. My mid 20's then. Fell in love with it. Went without it for years then came across it again on RUclips a few years ago. Every now and then I pull it up on a long trip to reminisce. I hope to live will past my 90's. I can see. Myself in my old outdated car at a stop light rocking this with the volume all the way up with teens pulling up next to me laughing at the old man next to them. But they'll one day look back in there old age and figure out just what that good feeling means in there own lives to I hope. A time when things where firing in order in your life in your youth. And the music you listened to when it was.
They just don't do this type of music the way it happened in the 90s. Keep making music underworld. Glad we ran across ya in 8th grade on The Saint soundtrack
Icey coolness, audio infamy, enigmatic , glorious buildup.....major league feedback like that could only come from people in love w/the Underworld magic. No other group gives u such a personal, sensual experience. U have to listen all the way thru their traks or u miss the best part. Sometimes the parts are greater than the overall essence of a song....but these guys find a way to fill the space around u w/distiled magic u cant feel anywhere else....cant gush hard enough💕
One of my all time favorite songs. This is such an amazing soundtrack to any experience, but watching a thunderstorm at the beach with this playing will change your life, hehe.
Every time I listen to this it takes me straight back to driving on the M3 out of London at night, hardly any other cars on the road, nice steady 80mph (I mean er 70 officer...) windows slightly open and cool summer night air as I head back down to the South West.
for me, this song is all about driving alone on a country road on a dark, moonless night. Your headlights are the only light, the glow of the dashboard lighting the interior dimly, this song on, wrapping you in a warm blanket of solitude.
You might have summed up the ideal use of both 'dubnobass...' and 'Second Toughest...' there. Both whole albums feel to me like watching terrain, people, technological advancements and/or moments/eras go by. Maybe that's why on Everything Everything they use video shot in a moving train so much.........
While it may not initially seem like these tracks have that much in common, the transition between them is godlike. The altering, two synth-chords of Banstyle suddenly getting a harmony that brings a more sombre mood, still neatly harmonizing with the two chords until they fade out, like the sun slowly setting, leaving the rather melancholic setpiece, until it's broken by the kickdrum. Just brilliant.
This is the song that got me into music. As in: there's more to life than the radio I was in the back of a car in downtown LA. Watching the city move about through the window. I had to hound for this track after (1990s, no phones, some internet) but I found it
what to say....creative geniuses...musicians from the underground scene that blew peoples minds...they were then..they are still now... ahead of so many of today...never believed in popularity...but their creative work...who says they are underrated...they were the pillars..the tip of the iceberg...chemical brothers, moby, prodigy, leftfield, josh wink, boards of canada, daft punk, amon tobin, talvin singh....GODs gift to us
Thank you FIFA 2004 for introducing me to Underworld. Otherwise would have never known about this band here in India. Big big fan of Underworld since then. Massively underrated band.
I was smoking iced bong loads of Cali Skywalker kush in 1996-7 in a dirty Hollywood apartment while playing racing games on the PS2 with this album on, , the sonics seriously BLEW MY MIND, this is a tune that will go down in audio infamy as a masterpiece
have spent nine years writing a novel, a hypnotic hyperactive Scottish mis-fable of self-help cut open on the thistle of self-hate and this band was the main driving force behind the pace of every scene, and all the jogs and night drives to stay sane in between. Thanks for the post. I had this on cassette during many lost moments in the reeperbahn, then on cd, now mp3 and here on youtube. Through all the technology, this band and this album continue to soar.
I have never had a piece of music do such an incredible job of surpassing what any drug can do for me. It's incredible to think about.. sonic waves alone are capable of utmost euphoria. It blows me away.
i love the comment of sola saying she couldnt stop listening for 15 years.....i been like this for over 7 months everyday listening....as far as the song it changes towards the middle. i supose thats why its called bannstyle/sappys curry

The most liquid liquid drum n bass track of all time from the gods of techno

beautifully put - couldn't agree more
Use to play this first on my 4 am train journey to work many moons ago. Ideal for watching the world go by when you're half asleep.
I also associate this whole Underworld album with memories of late night drives in lonely landscapes.

Climb to the top of a tree at my beach and explored time through harmony o/
Great finale. The tempo becomes mysterious at 13.06 then speeds up at 13.29. And all that background, like improvisation feeding a cruising machine.
This song makes everything ok again
Play this at my funeral, that's it...:)
This is my favorite Underworld track of all time

Greatest EDM track of all time.
@d R yeah. Umbrella terms often miss the specifics. I get you. Though I'm not that concerned with labels, it's still one of the greatest tracks ever.
The 1990s, how many racing games soundtracked by this masterpiece?
Shame they didn't make a video for this, the bit in the middle with the ravey thumps demands the capture of motion trails
Magnificent!
