- An early start on theses two fine Munros in the Cairngorms started with a bike ride to the old lodge ruins then from there it was on to tackle the Munros. The weather was decent for walking in and no rain but was a bit blustery at the top.
Brilliant video yet again Ally. Nice one buddy.
Hi John thanks again had a great wee day out on these a long route but the bike helps reduce the walk in and out fantastic area the cairngorms. Atb Ally 👍
Wow they look big plateaus nice video
Thanks Andrew, cracking place love the cairngorms the plateaus on the second one is a long one from one end to the other hopefully head back up there soon. Atb Ally👍
Quality stuff Ally mate , that's quite a trek mate , great video , some scenery and they rocks were impressive on Ben Avon 👌
Thanks Mate always a great day out in the cairngorms this one is a long route but the bike helps in and out the tors at the top are something else nearly lost the drone with the wind nearly took it in to the tors . Atb Ally 👍
Nice video mate. Id have drama'd up the bloody knee lol. cheers mate
Thanks Donny superb mountains these ones a long route but very enjoyable i tripped over my own feet then done a roll over thankfully nobody was there 😂Atb Ally 👍
Great wee vlog Ally, decent conditions considering the way the weather has been lately, cracking drone footage in and around the ruins, it's a big day that you'll be glad to have gotten out of the way mate, Paul will need to add running 🏃 into the Bangers description 😂 hiking 🥾 biking 🚴♀️ camping 🏕️ and running 🏃 brilliant mate atb Brian 👍
🤣he sure will the list is expanding soon be doing loch swimming 🤣but the weather stayed kind for a change a tad windy up top but didn't spoil the day . i put the drone up at the tors and the wind was blowing all over the place struggled to get it to land thought it was going to crash in to the tors but glad at the ruins it was a bit more sheltered so managed to get it up foe some shots. fare enjoyed this one was dreading it as a long route but the bike sure helped. Atb Ally 👍
Good stuff Ally. Looks like good fast terrain. The tors are nice features.
Andy this was a take a chance on the weather day as the night before was torrential rain up but it worked out apart from the strong winds it's a long route buy the bike sure helped out really enjoyed it. Atb Ally 👍
Nice one Ally, I enjoyed these 2 and defo need the bike, I went up the lower path with bike and came down the higher path, what a bloody palaver that was. Better leaving the bike at junction where path splits. I nearly crashed my drone at Tors as well with the wind😂😂
Great edit and another 2 in the bag.🏔🏔👍
ATB
Franko
A great walk this one Frank really enjoyed it and the weather was pretty decent for a change. Definitely using the bike took a few hours of the walk but should have left the bike at the junction as ended up pushing up to the ruins. Another 2 done Frank but would have loved to have a few more done by now but this weather has been rotten fingers crossed for the weekend 😀. Atb Ally 👍
Great video Ally. That looked a good day out. I know you said a windy but couldn't really hear it on the video. Some great views up there, and you managed to get the drone up 😁. ATB Andy
Its a great route Andy and great paths well on the way back down not the best through a lot of heather that's over grown, definitely one foe the bike to shorten it down as is a long route. manged to get the drone up at the ruins as it was a bit sheltered there. Atb Ally 👍
Cracking Ally! 4 am start! 😀😀. you fair blasted around that. Big hills these and some big views. Those TORS on Ben Avon are amazing. Still not sure if I actually stood on the top bit???
Big Bobby! lol.....Quality mate and another two in the bag! Paulo.
Thanks Mate sure is a long route but the ebike comes in hand and a wee jog as well helped to do it in good time minus the sore knee 🤣. i really liked the newly named tor lol but was great to get these 2 done been on the to do list for a long time. just new the weather to sort its self out for the weekend now. Atb Ally 👍
Nice vid Ally. 2 big, fine, broad moontains. And a fine day anaw. 😎Bike is defo way to go. We biked in and camped on Avon, we were gonnae explore the Tors but clag came in. Wid like tae go back tho.
Kev cracking mountains these 2 a long route but using the bike defo helps get the time down, the tors are cracking still strange how there just randomly doted around. got caught out with the river crossing as it was really heavy rain the night before but managed it with out falling in. Atb Ally 👍

A big day out Ally, cracking video. Missed you by a week! Was up last weekend, camped at the Sneck as to windy to do my planned camp on Ben Avon. Not had best of luck with biking to these hills, was ok this weekend but previously came of on narrow path above ruins, just a few scratches, ended up with my backside in the water when crossing one of the burns and time before last had a puncher on way out, must save at least a couple of hours on the day though.Cheers Paul
Hi Paul thanks again that's a bummer would have been nice to have bumped in to you. there was a guy camping just down from the sneck when i was there was chatting to him , the bike sure takes a good bit of which is great as is a long route . I just had the one injury tripping over my own feet lol and thought i was going to end up in the river as was high with all the rain fall from the night before. Atb Ally👍
Hi Paul, I’m planning to do these two this coming Thursday, was there much in the way of camping pitches at the Sneck? I’m planning an overnight and trying to decide where to pitch.
Glad you got to do them this time.
Cheers
Tim
@@timothyewart8160 Hi Tim, as you climb up to the Sneck there are some reasonable pitches on the left. I camped on Ben Avon before a little beyond the summit and there looks to plenty of pitches on Ben a’Bhuird on the east side of the plateau. There’s water sources quite close to all mentioned.
Great video, Ally over these big remote hills. That's some stream rock hopping skills you have there, I'd have been in 😅. Enjoyed tagging along as always. Take care. Mick
Thanks Mick brilliant mountains the cairngorms are superb. That river caught me out thought i was going straight in 🤣 looking forward to getting back up there the weather has been terrible this year fingers crossed for this weekend. Atb Ally 👍
@Allysmountainwalks6462 I'm up Scotland at the minute. Had a great week last week taking my youngest lad up An Teallach and The Beinn Dearg 4 group but this week not great up to now. Atb. Mick.
@blamhof last week was great I was work then the weather turned on Friday I had planned liathach at the weekend but end up not going as want a good day for the ridge, this wee not looking great all week but hopefully the weekend will be OK as got the braeriach traverse with camp if weather doesn't hamper it . that's great getting them 2 walks in as there superb really enjoyed them. ATB ALLY 👍
@Allysmountainwalks6462 Look forward to the videos, Ally 👍
As always a cracking vid. A great day too. I’m going up with a mate to do these two on Thursday/Fri. Planning a wild camp and was hoping to pitch at the ruins but your( very useful) drone footage would indicate that there’s not much put put a tent on. I may keep going up to the waterfall.
Impressive walk/ bike/run time also.
Cheers
Tim
