Looks like Ginger was leading you astray 😂. Nice CG, love all the old structures and the lake looked like it was pretty full. We sure miss the old cafeteria style restaurants. Our favorite was Furrs. Take care y’all!

Hey, Bill. BWD State Park is my stomping ground. I have lived in the county 50 years. I love our little state park! The structures you were wondering about are remnants of picnic tables and bbq pits made by the CCC in the ‘20s. The fire pit and benches you saw on your hike is an old site but has been used as the old amphitheater before the newer one was constructed.
You’re correct about the trash! BWD Lake has been incredibly low for many years and will fill up super quick with a proper weeks worth of rain. Last summer the same spot you were in you could have walked out 100 ft on dry ground! We are very grateful for the rain. I will say I know our park usually does a far better job at cleaning up and managing those trails. Thanks for the video and hope when you come back it looks a bit more managed.

Hey Faith, thanks for watching. Thanks for filling me in on the park information. We really enjoyed the park. Our campsite was great and the trails were a lot of fun. Yes the lake was full and very pretty. Also enjoyed the area for riding the motorcycle around. You live in a great place. We actually looked at some lakefront properties. We just didn't find one that checked all of our boxes. Thanks for your comment, it was very helpful.

Hey Barry, thanks for watching. We really enjoyed our stay there. We liked the trails, and found it a pretty convenient place to get reacquainted with some old friends that live near there and it was fun to ride with you while in the area. They have cabins for rent there. Would be a pretty good place to stay while riding around the area. You don't need a license to fish here from the shore as long as you're staying in the park. Thanks for your comment.

Hey J's, thanks for watching. Yea Ginger leads the pack around here. They said the lake was running 2' over the spillway. It had just flooded there a short while before we got there. We enjoyed it. We appreciate that you left a comment. I know we're going to catch up with yall one of these days.

Hey Jack, thanks for watching. We had a really good meal in there. Like going back to 1970. The locals dont really care for it because they say there are better options. I just kinda liked the nostalgic experience. We appreciate the comment. We will be at Midway COE park today. We will be there for 9 days. We did not bring the bike for this trip.

I have lived within 125 miles of Lake Brownwood for over fifty years and have never gone there.
