    I'm gonna be honest, this game's system mechanics feel a lot closer to UNI than Melty, but the characters and combos are all Melty... And honestly I love that

      Universal Defense in Melty are pretty strong compare to UNI though. Shield mechanic overhaul with Moon Drive and a bunch of follow up afterward made the mind game nuts. UNI defense was very....limited.

    Great looking stuff! One thing I wanted to mention here, the Blood Heat, Shield-activated version of your Last Arc (Level 4) does more damage the more time you had left in Blood Heat on activation. If your guage was high enough when it was triggered, it'll actually do more damage than the normal version of the Last Arc!

    Though I haven't bought this game yet, I appreciate seeing this basic guide to help me understand how its general mechanics worked compared to other fighting games! Personally, I think the ability to steer in the air is cool since it's not common in most traditional fighting games (I know DBFZ lets you do that on a superjump).
    On another note! I love that the input history even counts the frames in each input! (I know Virtua Fighter's one of the few games that's done this too for its training mode!) ^^

    After seeing the universal mechanics, I want a big and slow grappler in the game even more.
    They traditionally have big, single hit normals rather than long combos, which in theory would mean they build Moon Guage quicker than the other characters. But in contrast, their normals would most likely be slower, which means they’d be the easiest to parry, which could be an interesting dynamic. And maybe they’d lack run and airdash normally, but gain it during Moon Drive state? So you’d momentarily go from slow and lumbering to an airdashing grappler!
    They’d also be the scariest character during Blood Heat, as you’d be scared too press buttons against them in case they’d parry, which then leaves you open to get grappled
    The more I think about this, the more I want it lol

    • @imafreewin4708
      @imafreewin4708 2 года назад +1

      This could be dope, but I think the air dash and mobility is a core aspect of melty blood that all characters are built around. I dont see them adding any big grapplers in this one, if they did make them super fast and crazy they would be like Android 16 during DBFZ season 1 lol aka too busted

    • @CrossfacePanda
      @CrossfacePanda 2 года назад +2

      @@imafreewin4708 That's why I'd like it if it's a grappler that's slow by default (Potemkin-esque), that then gets mobility in small burtst via Moon Drive. This way you have to switch between long to midrange footsies to build Moon Gauge, to then zooming in with an airdash and grab them. And since the mobility would be meter restricted, it'd be less likely to be busted right out of the gate.
      And it'd still be relatively on theme with the rest of the cast, as every other character gets an extra jump & airdash during Moon Drive; the grappler simply starts out with 0 airdashes, and thus only they have 1 during Moon Drive, as opposed to 2 like the rest of the cast.
      I respect that the game is built around high mobility and combos; that's clearly the type of fighting game the devs love to make. But as a grappler player, I'd want just a single character who break the norm ever so slightly, just to add some variety. But I could also understand if it's simply an element they don't want players to deal with in this game.

      Todays beatings are tomorrows lessons. Don't get discouraged on a loss and if you are having fun thats all the better yet! What you lose to today, you'll laugh at months from now

    I learn more better by connecting things to other things Im already familiar with. some stuff I learned so far:
    B+C is both a powerup and your roman cancel type of thing
    A+B+C is like the GG bust type of move and also a defensive power up
    Ciel is basically vega from sf2!
    The specials format is the same as UNI. the game is very UNI in general (idk which came first maybe it's the other way around)
    To use marvel terms:
    C versions are basically Level 1 supers
    B+C super is basically a Level 3
    The final round 4 bar super is like a level 5 super (or level 4 i guess)
    For some reason the little kid character reminds me of iron fist from umvc3. I'm gonna main her

    rooflemonger as a newcomer to melty blood type lumnia glad i only did download melty blood type lumnia but haven't actually played melty blood type lumnia. since melty blood type lumnia is my first melty blood game in the entire melty blood series. super duper godlike melty blood type lumnia beginner's guide for newcomers. 1. COMBOS 2. CHARGED NORMALS TO EXTEND COMBOS 3. EX MOVES TO EXTEND COMBOS 4. DASH MACRO 5. RAPID BEAT COMBO TO START & END COMBOS 6. STARTING & ENDING COMBOS THEN USE RAPID BEAT AS A UNIVERSAL COMBO STARTER & IN ENDER.

    I only wish for this type of gameplay, but with the servants and characters from fate grand order

    • @TheKarateeKidd
      @TheKarateeKidd 2 года назад

      That would be amazing. At least Saber is in here to give us a lil dose of what a game like would have. This is game is Delightworks too so maybe a Fate/Grand Order fighter isn't too far in the future.

    Going from mk11 to this will be a stretch, but the sheer amount of depth and potential in melty blood is insane in comparison. I feel embarrassed for NRS after MK11. Bring on the Melty Blood content ! Plz do character guides lmao

    Fate and Tsukihime are from the same universe, so Saber isn't a wired guest character.

    • @000wolf
      @000wolf 2 года назад +1

      The Nasuverse is bit more complicated than that, with Fate occupying a separate reality than Tsukihime. Summoning Servants is not possible in Tsuki, though Heroic Spirits have the potential to exist.

    • @joshy541
      @joshy541 2 года назад +1

      @@000wolf if you wanna get real wild, IIRC Fate and Tsukihime are different main branches of the "Timeline of Proper Human History" that are allowed to exist and branch off further due to the fact that they hold the most potential for the preservation of human progress. Timelines with no value cease to exist, so there actually isn't any "infinite multiverse".
