Great to hear about Tom Dorrance. I've only become aware of him recently via an excellent horse trainer in GB - Steve Young - who has spent a lot of time in the USA learning about the methods you discuss in this video.
It's fantastic to hear about wonderful horsemanship.🐎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I'm jealous, you have a pool table! I had a horse that learned to spell. Was giving youngsters years ago riding lessons on my QH gelding. Tried to mix up the commands so I told a six year old to stop 3 times around and I he didn't sit back or move his hand. When I asked him , he said " I thought him to stop" he turned out to be a good horseman.

Actually, Tom Didnt do Clinics untill his later life. Outside Certain Circles Tom was not well known until Ray Hunt brought him and his name to the General Public. Though Tom Was Rays Mentor, it was Ray, who brought awareness of the Methods and mindset of Tom to the Public through Clinics.

I enjoyed your video. You should go see Harry Whitney. He was a friend of Tom's. Harry focuses on getting the horse's thought with you. He does amazing things with horses.

I have to disagree with you friend. I believe Tom, Ray, many of the very great horseman would not apply pressure and release it when the horse performed. They would allow the horse to feel that they moved into pressure. Not that it comes from the human ., but that it come from themselves.

No offense but you need to dig deeper with your research. Ray Hunt forged the way of the modern clinic concept, bringing Tom’s unique approach horses to the world. (A horse trainer named Monte Foreman conducted clinics before Ray but he was a more traditional type of trainer.) Tom’s brothers were Bill, Fred, and Jim.
You pick great subjects but take the time to get all the information that’s out there.
