Now I love Grotesco, they're brilliant. What's lovely is the screen at the end. "SVT = Sveriges Television" Basically the Swedish version of the BBC. And then it says: "Godkänd av staten" which means "Approved by the government". Cheers man!
It should be noted that none of this was ever "approved by the government" because none of it has to be. SVT is independent and required to be independent and unbiased. By law. So this isn't the state television you think of when it comes to Russia, in fact there is another independent structure that will look at what they publish to determine if that is indeed unbiased and independently reported. This is humour though, anything goes when it comes to Swedish and British humour.
@@SithMystic I have no idea what you are on about. It absolutely has nothing what so ever to do with anything that I said, that is for sure. Maybe more or less drugs would help?
4:30 it didnt have a translastion but the text on screen says SVT (swedens public servis chanel) aproved by the state. this was made funded and aproved by the goverment
I think few countries have come as far as Sweden. I mean; the majority understand the implication. Broadcast on national TV with a twinkle in the (national) eye
This would never be allowed to air today. Don't worry, the leftists have taken over almost everywhere so we're just as woke and ruined as the rest of the West these days.
Yep. This is satire, making fun of religion in general and Christianity in particular - not the gays. For context: Sweden is a very secular society that prides itself on its egalitarianism. Religious freedom does not mean impunity, and if you say something judgemental or discriminating in the name of your God, you are not exempt from criticism just because you're pious.
it’s like a satire/criticism on christianity ps some of the lyrics are wrongly translated but the point is the same so it doesn’t really matter….(just so you know)
It's making fun of religion primarily, there's no such thing as homophobia. It's a made up word since I would claim no one is phobic towards gays and if you don't trust me read up on the definition of "Phobia".

@@eddiewinehosen6665 what is hydrophobic? a material capable of fear - or a material that repels water? Just because you know what phobia CAN mean, does not mean you know its every meaning apparently - Happy to be of assistance to my fellow Scandie ;-)
@TainDK A molecule or material that repels water is a hydrophobe. Hydrophobia is an irrational fear of water. These terms should not be confused. I happen to be a chemist.
This just goes to show that you can have fun in a satirical video. In some other countries that haven't come that far with humor, poor them... They get shot just because they open their mouths and mind ... such a shame because you only live once... Don't let others decide what you should do live... Point end....
You know its a "western" reaction when they have to have a double take at that exact spot due to the cringe. Spot on from the very beginning about the satire as well. I love the song more and more =)
In year 2024 we in Sweden we can't make this kind of comedy anymore since we have light offended people in power. Alot, ALOT of snowflakes so this clip is a blast from the past. We have got really boring.
There is no "message". Its a comedy bit, nothing is to be taken seriously. If there is anything to be considered a message its how faked up "this message" is.
If you failed to see the message that is truly concerning... It is clear they are making fun of and pointing out the hypocrisy, insanity and the level of mental gymnastics these of religious groups are capabale of in order to make things fit their narrative. All satire has a poignant message, especially this one. That is why it is so funny and brilliant at the same time.
The priest say its all due to gay people - he dont really know where to find it in the book (meaning he has not read the bible closely enough or with the mindset of it being translated or the contexts) but he knows it is in there - int the skit he sang that between the first and the second time that he "blames the gays". So in the very beginning we know we have to do with a man of blind faith spewing hate - then we just have to enjoy it all unravel to see how much hypocrisy (or blatant homophobia) this skit will show us from the "people of faith".
This song was performed at the QX Gala, which is the Swedish LGBTQIA+ gala, and got a roaring standing ovation 😜

This is something that us Swedes do. We mostly don't take anything too serious and we are pretty hard to offend usually.
In the end in the video, it's say approved by the Swedish government...
