Apparently the title of this song is supposed to refer to Pluto's anger at losing ("relinquishing") its status as a planet. So I guess, don't mess with Pluto (= Roman god of death). Scary stuff.
Especially the streams at the end of the song. Far more evil than Fascination MAXX or even its cousin ~eternal love mix~ 2MB is well known for making dark remixes of original songs, and this is no exception.
This song is so melodically and conceptually brilliant. The original Pluto had an eerie icy chill to it but it was more subdued and varied in structure. When Pluto relinquished it's status as a planet in this song, all hell broke lose. This song takes a single portion of the piano from the original and prolonged it , but more importantly the relentless , menacing backbeat takes front and center here and never lets up. Probably one of the most well executed remixes in the entire series.
Ok, holy hell screw that last run. Anyone who's played knows which one. Bane of my existence. Really, 95% of the difficulty of Pluto Relinquish is the last run.
This is my favorite DDR song. I love all of 2MB's (U1) remixes and how they dramatically shift the tones of the main song, but this one feels especially different compared to Pluto. While the original one felt intimidating and almost evil, this one feels sympathetic - like it has lost its own identity. Fitting, since the Relinquish name comes from Pluto's "planet" status being lost in 2006. My dream is to complete this one's challenge chart one day, or at least FC its difficult or expert chart.
Why do you need KONAMI original songs? It's as ever changing as the times... The absolute darkness hangs perfectly still as I watch the expanding heavens. And it will still be hanging there even after it has faded from human memory. Outside the ring. Pluto Relinquish 2MB
it's weird that the beginner chart has probably the lowest note count of any 5, and only is one because of the BPM changes Fucking LOVE this chart/song
And frankly, it shouldn't have. I think it's Difficult chart could have justified a 9. PARANOiA ~Hades~ on the other hand had an 8 for it's difficult chart, and THAT should have been a 10.
Valkyrie Dimension has the hardest singles DDR chart in the entire series on Challenge, as a 19(Darn Tell Jumps...) but Pluto Relinquish Doubles Challenge is slightly harder than that chart, and yet it's rated only an 18... The hardest Doubles chart is Paranoia Revolution Doubles Challenge. It has streams through some of the song that are like the ending of Pluto Relinquish Doubles Challenge ,and the ending has a few taps, and it even has three 16th notes at 360 BPM...(Yea, good luck lol)
@SlickDX536 Yes, I used to be a big ITG player. I still play and can do 13 and some 14 footers but back when I played a lot I could do 14s pretty easily and 15s were the fun ones :D
Sorry, but you won't find Valkyrie Dimension in the PS2 version of DDR X2.(You'll find Pluto The First instead, which has the WORST CHART EVER.) But... You can find Valkyrie Dimension in DDR II, which is for Wii. Paranoia Revolution hasn't made an appearance in a console game yet(Right now it's only in DDRX3, which is in Japan,) and I hope that song makes it into a console game, because I want to play it.
Yea, but do you know how tough Pluto Relinquish Doubles Expert is? It's rated an 18 on the X-Scale in fact. (Yes, same rating as Singles Challenge.) Doubles Challenge is rated an 18, but in reality it should be a 19 because of the ending, which believe or not, makes it harder than Valkyrie Dimension Challenge O_O
It's a shame that the Doubles chart is practically impossible(Especially since I like Doubles more.) 400 BPM is way too fast to have spins, crossovers, and runs across the two pads on Doubles Challenge. As for Doubles Expert, if you want prove of how hard that chart is, nobody ever passed it as Encore Extra Stage back then.
reply to description: or you're skillful enough that you played other songs harder than this and you passed this. I survived it the first time in stepmania, let's see how it goes in the arcade. I guess i have good stamina.

I honestly never thought about it that way. Interesting.
So... should we picture Neil deGrasse Tyson playing DDR?
wow interesting!
this is the most evil sounding ddr song ever
I think Nephilim Delta, EGOISM 440 and PARANOiA ~Hades~ more evil
Add Valkyrie dimension.
And Orion.78 (civilization mix)
John Nino Pluto the first
Especially the streams at the end of the song. Far more evil than Fascination MAXX or even its cousin ~eternal love mix~

Agreed, those first 45 seconds are so spectacularly ominous. Into quite the payoff of murdered feet worldwide.
I think you eloquently explained why I like this song so much
You explained why im so scared of it
"Max 300 is the most difficult song in DDR history."
Pluto: "Hold the bar."

wait till he hears about Valkyrie Dimension, Max 360, Paranoia Revolution, Endymion, and Egoism 440
Paranoia Revolution: "That's cute."

え、最近知ったんだけどこんなカッコイイ曲が9年前からあるのか…凄過ぎない?
There's Infinity Black Hole - Pluto
It's a song that has a touch of class and don't mess with me vibe. I love it especially the end reminds me you're getting close to danger.

Pluto Relinquish
2MB
@PumpFan both are made by 2MB (aka Yuichi Asami) after all..
Uploder's comment means 'EVERYONE on earth must fail to complete this song at least one time'.
Survived it with a C. Don't ask how.
on a pad: MAJOR difficulty
on a normal controller: still a problem
Nearly broke my DualShock 2 trying... maybe even my thumbs too.
it's weird that the beginner chart has probably the lowest note count of any 5, and only is one because of the BPM changes
Fucking LOVE this chart/song
Some years ago I tried this one on expert...now I'm scared...
buy your t-shirt: I SURVIVE DDR!
I damn near did die on basic, collapsed on the pad having an asthmatic attack haha
All hell breaks loose at 1:07.
The speed change.
This might be the national anthem for people in 2950 who lives in Pluto
I bet terraforming may be possible in the 22nd century
I tried this on Challenge, then collapsed after 30 seconds, with an asthma attack, and a seizure that lasted 5 minutes.
+Miles Prower (Tails) It's actually not that bad in the first 30 seconds... the ending is killer though.
Man, are you okay now?
1:07 I like how there's a foghorn that starts playing here to signal your imminent death
The only song I remember having a 10 on Difficult with the pre-X rating scale.
And frankly, it shouldn't have. I think it's Difficult chart could have justified a 9.
PARANOiA ~Hades~ on the other hand had an 8 for it's difficult chart, and THAT should have been a 10.
After playing this song on the story mode my brain melts a bit
Reminds me of Vanquish (PS3 game) with a DDR theme song.
@VictorWinstrate There is another Pluto song remix. It's called "Pluto The First" by White Wall.
Are you ready... F A I L E D
"Perfection is in the mind that makes mistakes."
Yuichi Asami aka 2MB is who compose Fascination eternal love mix
woo amazing song! I MEAN SERIOUSLY, 800 BPM?! IVE SEEN A SONG THAT HIGH!!

Ratio’d by Endymion
I remember one time I wanted to pick this song, but I didn't feel like playing a ten or 9 footer, so I had to pick light, lol
@SlickDX536 Yes, I used to be a big ITG player. I still play and can do 13 and some 14 footers but back when I played a lot I could do 14s pretty easily and 15s were the fun ones :D
de todas las canciones de la saga ddr pluto relinquish es la que mas respeto le tengo ademas de temerle.
@VictorWinstrate
none, its a fan made remix like many of the max's, paranoia's, fascination's out there.
This song has something to do with space.
2MB solo le hacía remixes a Naoki MAEDA. Canciones como La Señorita, Healing Vision y Paranoia
beginner and light are easy but standard and heavy are maniac
how people do it this on heavy/expert is just amazing

Zone of the Enders is also a Konami game. Perhaps its soundtrack was also composed by the same ones who worked on DDR.
... I'm sticking to controller for now.
@VictorWinstrate I have discovered a new Pluto remix song called Pluto Eclipse.
You should check it out.
it kind of sounds like telephone on dance dance supernova on dance master mode it took a long long time to beat it
The vibe to this remix is so cool. It's like you made a huge mistake picking it xp

lol got A on difficult and almost cleared in expert.
Beginner is overrated.
Only *47* notes in a 5?!?? ALL other charts have more notes than this Beginner (except Lesson by DJ) and bag
Taylor Mary Miller Mark Robinson Richard
Thomas Patricia Taylor Susan Taylor Steven
It's funny because americans are actually better than asians at DDR.
its not that hard,...on beginner..
its not that hard.
Song is garbage. But hey, if you need to work up a sweat, here's one place to go.
