    I was utterly convinced when I first heard this on Radio 3 in the 1970s when GW was in her 30s. Had no idea who GW was or even who wrote this astonishing virtuoso organ music. Will go to my grave in awe.

    Think the piece only comes alive at this tempo. Was never really convinced by this piece, but GW makes an excellent case for it

    It feels too fast to me. It sounds best played a little more slowly in a big cathedral, for which this Romantic piece was probably composed.

      Audience don't agree - neither do I. Gillian Weir - I have a recording of her playing this at Hexham Abbey - is brilliant.
