agree about the history aspect of it, but the condition of most of the stadium is awful. Even on the "exective lounges" at Sir.Alex Stand, walking from that shabby smoked out lounge through the jail-like hallways into the stadium is not the standard our club should have after all this success in the past. The cost of 100% refurbish would probably be same price and not as good result. I not saying I wanna get rid of all Trafford as it is the most amazing stadium, but its gonna be a hard choice to make. At some point we need renewal, like Real Madrid are doing :) The new Bernabeu will be crazy, and option to to close the roof.. think of that insane atmosphere..
#GlazersOut - No One owns the fans, they need sponsors, Elliot Management has socials and a Media Enquiry page, and Poliety tell them GlazersOut no matter what. The Fans will not accept any Glazer involvement going forward. The Fans would rather lose top 4 than carry on with the Glazers. There will be Game disruptions and Sponsors will be informed about how they feel.
Option A. Mirror the North Stand on the south side Option B: Replace the current roof with the new Bernebeu roof Option C: Build the Bernebeu with red seats.
C won't be like the Bernabeu. That would be option B. Option C would be better than the Bernabeu which is nothing more than a 90 year old stadium with a facelift. The model should be something like the new Spurs stadium but bigger .......
@@panchopuskas1 The Bernabéu will have a retractable roof, retractable grass, folding stands, 360° video scoreboard, images will be projected on the outside wall, 84,000 spectators... It will be the best stadium in the world
As a united fan option A is the best option just increase the stadium capacity and upgrade and maintain whatever infrastructures that needed to and keep the name old Trafford that what make manchester united man united
@S. The logical option isn't always what's best, but sometimes preserving history and maintaining your roots is. So it costs more money, so what... These people have plenty of it. It's never really a matter of money anyhow but more about what the greedy pigs at the top VALUE. Building a completely new "futuristic" stadium along with soulless oil money owners coming into the mix would change the very essence of what United has been since its inception. What do you value more is the real question...
@S. Haha, if you're going to pull figures out of your ass at least be realistic about it. 100 BILLION!?! Maybe in 1000 years😂 A 100X price difference between the two? EXTREME 🤣 Yes, there is a line but proper context matters to find it. Thanks for the laugh tho!
Option B looks good to me, Old Trafford remains where it is, with a touch of the future to it. Maybe the design should have a roof that can open and close but it looks good. Option A will be cheap, lack upgrades us fans have been complaing about.
I'm an American from Green Bay and we have the oldest stadium in the NFL. Option A is what they did to Lambeau Field and of the three options here that looks to be the best. I dig how the stadium is built above the railroad tracks and expanded seating should put Old Trafford at 90,000 or more. Also, the organizations gets to hang on to the legacy and history of their stadium.
We need to move to the modern era. Option A has zero "upgrades" we fans have been asking for. Option B looks good to me, Old Trafford remains where it is, with a touch of the future to it.
@Jimbob960 You beat me to it. After I posted my reply I thought of an option A and B combo. Expand the stands above the railway to give the stadium symmetry and then wrap that silver skin around it. Include whatever upgrades.
@Jimbob960 I understand. History and legacy vs. hosting World Cup games. NFL teams build based on hosting a Superbowl and now World Cup games. I mean it shouldn't be a tough decision but I really like preserving things, especially old architecture.
B or even C - if they strip back the current stadium a little less than is shown here and turn it into a junior stadium and legacy centre with museum , shops and cafes etc. That way we get the best of both worlds.
I personally like the expanded version (option A) more. It keeps the distinctive truss roof intact while adding an upper tier to the main stand, making the stadium more symmetrical and increasing the seating to close to 100K. However, option C makes the most business sense i think: a brand new stadium plus the redevelopment of the neighborhood. We need a new stadium with supporting amenities/infrastructures to remain competitive off field and which would last at least a century, just like the old ground will when it finishes its job.
I could see options A and B getting combined. Revamps the look (which it for sure could do with) and adds capacity which is always nice. Also makes all sides equal which looks good in my opinion.
Seeing Old Trafford being taken away piece by piece at the end of the video was heartbreaking. Option B looks like the Alianz Arena, futuristic but no soul, at least it will still have the heart of Old Trafford within it. Option A seems like the most favourable option for me, expansion and upgrading the current infrastructure
Tbh we don’t know what the structure is like at old Trafford it may not be able to be expanded Let’s wait for the new owners to do all the relevant checks and consult with us Sorry I mean let’s hope they consult with us I expect they will but after 17 years of the glazer I have negative views of owners
@@pabloes588 well all the other stands were originally the height of (suppose for this I'll call it the little one) and they all got built on later so it should be possible but the train line makes it interesting I suppose 👀

As a United fan from VIetnam that has never been to Old Trafford, i also like option A but with some suggestions i would like to add: 1/ Transform Stretford End to the largest single-tier stand. (Imagine massive tifo our die hard fans can assemble) 2/ Relocate disabled section (it's so inhuman to put them behind the goal) 3/ Bring back player tunnel to the center of stadium with modernized interior but the external brick look of the dugout must be preserved at all costs 4/ Need entire new roof design with modern, clean look, less sloped, no more hideous structured-exposed and retractibility. 5/ To maintain the "English ground" spirit, the new external must avoid the generic bowl-shaped design that makes the "New Trafford" look like an NFL stadium. 6/ A new state of the art museum 7/ Although the 360 giant screen (like SoFi stadium) is impressive, i personally think it only fits to NFL atmotsphere. I prefer the corner screen. 8/ Add creative attractions (Tottenham skywalk is a good example) 9/ The Bridgewater canal in front of Sir Alex Ferguson stand must be cleaned.
Option A is the best without any doubt. It requires less investment than the rest and is also the one that best respects the enormous legacy and history of this mythical stadium. Demolish it or change the facade would be a sacrilege
Never had the honor to go to Old Trafford. Have tried several times and life plus pandemic got in the way. Personally I feel option A with additional upgrades/updates to infrastructure, amenities and concourses. The look of Old Trafford is iconic. Most football fans know it on sight. Plus the history it holds.
The inside of old Trafford is in such a state the only good option is to rebuild. To improve the stadium as much as it needs wod meet it will be totally new anyway. I'd rather see a new state of the art stadium. Old Trafford is iconic yes but as much as I would hate to see it go it needs to be done.
Option A would only expand the stadium which realistically isn’t the main focus, Option B doesn’t expand the stadium yet Option C would expand the stadium and modernise it, More seats and modernisation are priorities in the stadium
I've thought quite a bit about this issue over the past 12 months and, for me, I considered A and C but not B. TBH, like many here have said, a combo of A and B would be the best option.
I would vote for an option A. But only if it includes not just expanding, but also improving all sides. All of our stands need some care. Expanding won't get rid of the leaks. I'd like to keep old Trafford looking like old Trafford, but let's restore it, get rid of the leaks, and renovate the inside to include a wide selection of fan experiences like Tottenham has, they have several bars etc in their stadium. Let's dl something similar. Even better would be including a bar/restaurant that's not just open on game days. Imagine a United fan visits Manchester for work, or another reason, oh no, no match at OT this week, no problem, you can still have an OT experience and visit the United pub and restaurant, and even watch the game. I think there's so many ways to improve OT, and all these look great, but I think the best is expand and restore.
@@andreww3621 we do need to modernise, honestly B looks like madrid's new stadium with the top open. If we could have a closed top then option B for sure, Old Trafford remains where it is.
@@rhowell1978 I mean, you are right, Old Trafford is quite old 😅 but i'd like to believe thst the foundational/structural integrity of the stadium is still quite sturdy. B looks good to me, just wish it was a closed top.
You’re such a tease!!! Thought there would have been some prolonged shots! - anyway as a non MUFC fan who’s never been to OT - I’ll say expand it - maintain the same aesthetic and build over the railway line. Although love the renders of a new stadium and what an updated version similar to Bernabeu could look like Ok - seen the full version - your best work yet - I’m not talented enough to visualise the expansion but you’ve done it. This video is on repeat. Incidentally, I imagined the south stand having more sky boxes for prawn sandwichers and relieving the seating in the north stand to improve the leg room - still would be larger capacity than the 75k capacity and the external appearance would look similar. Beautiful stuff - been waiting years for this !
While the concepts look good and would be put in any design pitch, anything other than option 1 would be destroying any sort of character Old Trafford has. I'm not a Utd fan, but I feel that expanding on the history of the ground would be a far better choice over soulless corporate design. Same goes for most other teams. Embrace the heritage.
As a Spurs fan - I know how this feels - and there were potential renders of how to expand WHL amongst the built up areas of Park Lane and Worcester Avenue. But sadly, economics and design restrictions impact any ability to embrace heritage. I’d like to see how Bondibot expands Anfield (impossible? Without building over a church for the Kop?)
United fan here, a lot of the fans I’ve spoken to are in favour of redevelopment rather than knocking Old Trafford down and building something new. Last year, the same company who oversaw the design of Spurs new stadium were appointed to come up with plans. Redevelopment and a new stadium are said to be options, be interesting to see what happens under the new owners when they take over
Its more than century old foundation,I'm not sure how redevelopment makes sense. After 10-15 yrs we might need to upgrade it again..might as well build a new one
I am a united fan, been a great stadium, now its out of date. Can't be expanded because of the train line. Sell the land, move intp Manchester proper, build 100,000 super stadium. We can fill it.
Oh thank god you have sense yea I saw option A and I'm like THIS someone please immediately send this to whoever becomes our new owner that is what we need with some renovations to the roof but outside of that this is all we need
@@kurtpunchesthings2411 Hi, i'm not in Manchester but i read a lot about the waterproblems during rainfall. Are the fundaments of the station in line with today's demands? Would a whole new stadium not only cheaper but also longer lasting? Thank you Ron The netherlands
I love this 3d visualisation of what an upgrade or new stadium would look like for Man Utd, if I had to choose - I would actually back an upgrade 100% because it continues history & legacy at Old Trafford but it also embraces a whole new era for the club. A rebuild with training ground - I like and it resembles to what Tottenham Hotspur has done but upgrade is more my option
As a City fan myself, your club has a great history and id hate to see this stadium be demolished, A is the best option, but they should improve the roof alongside option A
They desperately need Option C, the stadium is beyond repair at this point. It's the main reason behind the club's sale as the current owners would be required to invest in the club for the first time in their 18 year tenure.
I hear you - sad though - would love to see an expansion - unless they keep some of the existing externals into a new stadium and not make it look like a cookie cutter new stadium
@@essexginge9167 That was money earned by the club.. not owners personal wealth.. the club still owe 300+million on those player purchases.. club doesn't have money needed to do this work.. glazers don't want to use their own.. that's why they're looking for investors or sale. As a United fan born in 2001 I’ve not had the chance to see old Trafford same as my siblings but my dad and grandad have been a lot when I wasn’t born. Me personally B and C catch my eye the most whereas my dad is A and B. I’d want us to modernise the hell out of old Trafford but I know the generation before 2000s all have a different connection with that stadium which I also understand.
Option A all day long, from a united season ticket holder. The modern bowl would look out of place and horrendous. Keep the character of OT and the history and atmosphere
I think a is the option, old trafford looks awsome from above, keep the spirit n history, think all these new grounds affect the acoustics also, keep what we got n just expand capacity
Option C looks better than the upgrade-better have the new stadium built before you do anything with the existing one because the club needs somewhere to play the home games during the time while you’re building one beside it
Option C is the best for common sense - for the reason given above and any OT redevelopment could be pretty costly - I’m wondering how they could improve legroom in the Fergie stand. It’s almost 30 yrs old and should not be rendered obsolete. Just needs TLC. But Option A is the one I’d love to see. Whack another 8k spectators on to the Charlton end - but have sky boxes near the top for corporate. The external aspect will look the same - then reduce the capacity of the north stand slightly to help with better sight lines, fan comfort etc.. I’m guessing the capacity could be 85-90k then. Shades of Borussia Dortmund’s expanded ground
Option 3 is more like the way forward for me. Maybe you can keep the original pitch with a smaller structure for academy matches. It’s certainly the more progressive idea with a nod to the past👍🏼. Old Trafford as it stands today is crap inside, the layout and the atmosphere👎🏼. And given the size and history of a club like United the museum is pants too.
Nah yall high option C looks disgusting no charscter or soul whatsoever Option A is the expansion and renovation we need while keeping with our classic style
Option A + a super upgrade. Increase the stadium capacity to something around 90k, build a new roof (higher than the option B), a walkable platform over the stands and a giant panoramic window to the city. Old Trafford has a wonderful view of the City and that opportunity should be exploited in a expansion. I can imagine MUTV doing interviews with new players with the skyline of Manchester in the background. Manchester United own the land arround the stadium, enough land to build a smaller stadium for the woman's team and academy and 8-10 football pitches. I say we build our training ground there. All of this will probably be cheaper than building a new stadium, it would look amazing and we keep and transform our beautiful Old Trafford in something that respect our tradition, history and it's original. No abstract totally futuristic facade.
Somewhere between A and B would be right I think.. extend over the railway but add a new modern roof and refurbish and modernise the whole place. 1.5 billion should do it. Do what they did in Madrid but with a more traditional external aesthetic. Also, sell the areas around the ground to developers for retail units, cafe's, cinema, music venue, museum, public gardens etc to create jobs for people, help the economy and put money back in to the refurb.
Option A - Mirror the North Stand on the South side with No 3rd tier. The Owners were the ones who stop the Original project by using the excuse of the rail track complications. As stated previously, the design has already been laid out for completion of the stadium by original designers, to finish before the train track but the owners compromised by installed the 3rd tier cos the fans were complaining about the capacity at that time. Alls well we like to think that once the owners depart or bring in SJR and his team we can address the layout for the necessary expansion of the South stand, East & West quadrant issue ASAP because Wembley is to far to deal with the fan base, we're sure that can be achieved with minimal fuss, going by our walk around the stadium experience by observation. Take Note: The expansion should not exceed the rail track. We feel in 18 month to 2 years copying Real Madrid project with the right people it can be achieved in line with progress on the pitch! Worth a view, please share!
Man Utd's Old Trafford stadium that a bit if TLC won't cure. All it needs is the Upgrade of the Sir Bobby Charlton's Stand with a 2nd tier to complete the original design & the removal of the 3rd tier of the Sir Alex Ferguson's Stand & replaced by TV Screens for all 4 corners. We also want a levelled new Roof + modern refurbishment of the rest of the stadium to warrant a 90K capacity in comfort.
SBCS 25K + SAFS 25K + SES 20K + ES 20K = 90K. Take Note: The expansion should not exceed the rail track. Old Trafford known as 'The Theatre of Dreams' unique in style is the Super Bowl of stadiums & is potentially The best Stadium in the country, possibly the world. So Option A - Mirror the North Stand on the South side with No 3rd tier.
We want an Expansion to approx 90K capacity, Modern refurbishment & a Levelled Retractable New Roof! There's an completed stadium design on WHF!🔰@UtdWesleyy with a comment stating: So apparently we are looking at an expansion of Old Trafford. It’s been talked about for years but put off because of the complications around the south section of the stadium but if we do manage to do it…🔴 2 Tier SBC Capacity: 88,000+ We're sure that can be achieved with minimal fuss by observation cos its already laid out going by our walk around the stadium experience. Take Note: The Stadium Expansion Must Not Exceed the rail way track! Worth a view, please share!
Go for option C - but do it right - 85,000 and redevelop the land OT is on. Sometimes it is better to start afresh. Its the fans that make a club. Who talks about the twin towers at Wembley anymore? No one. Also do a deal with the FA to permanently alternate England games between Wembley and the new OT.
@@mc4240 - Is the Tottenham Stadium a soulless bowl? No. It depends on what you build. Now why on earth would the new owners build a soulless bowl? They wouldn’t. If you are going spend s billion plus, you’ll want to build the best stadium in the world.
It's gonna have a new training facility and parking lot, plus let's not forget the high end accommodation it's gonna come with it. To be honest tho I also love option A but basically they just added seats no big deal however in option C there's a lot to look forward to... just saying 🤷♂️
Old Trafford is not just a stadium for me( and the other fans of Manchester United I believe), it's everything for me. Old Trafford is the place which made my sweet memories. Many trophies had won there by Manchester United. It's like a Palace like Antiquity for me as a Manchester United fan. If the decision was up to me, I'd prevent it from rebuild, but it should be upgraded for more modernizing and also increasing the capacity.
I hope they go for option C. I also really like option B but the only problem with option B is that the already existing Old Trafford needs alot of repairs. So what I would do is renovate the whole stadium and then go for option B.
Option C for me too, but not just a metallic blob, add design elements from the existing Old Trafford. You could even make the existing pitch area some sort of garden tourist attraction instead of just a new car park. Imagine being able to have a picture taken in the same place as the old centre spot, amazing.
I'm no Utd fan as a Liverpool fan, I would say Option A would be more realistic for the upgrades of Old Trafford Option B seems too far fetch & looks like they are just trying to be an exact copy of the New Real Madrid Stadium & Option C same as B
What people don't understand is the stadium on the inside looks so outdated it's embarrassing. The seats and pitch looks pretty. But once you go inside it looks like you went back in time. Option 3 should be the only way but some people are afraid of change. Build the new stadium while we still play in the current stadium.
Completely agree. Plus the heritage factor is somewhat overstated. Old Trafford has been amended so many times over the years. There's always change. So long as it's within the vicinity of the existing stadium it's good enough. Almost every team has modernised their stadium over the last 20/30 years or so, with a huge number moving entirely. Arsenal West Ham Man City Spurs (probably the best move) Bolton Southampton Sunderland Middlesbrough Coventry Leicester Brighton Derby County All moved I believe. Everton are moving soon. It didn't stop any of them.
Would absolutely love to see a Highbury version of this video. I've always been fascinated by what potential expansion it could've had or just a concept at least.
I feel like Highburys footprint was just too small to do any major expansion on. Remember how tight the advertising boards were to the pitch?! I'd say if it doesn't add more corporate boxes and upgraded hospitality, it's hard to justify!

@Paleocon. Option A is pointless, it doesn’t fix Old Trafford’s many problems and ultimately the ground needs to be rebuilt. Most of the stadium was built in the 90’s without any planning for the future, it’s cheaper just to build New Trafford next to it and redevelop Old Trafford in the women’s and U21 stadium.
Option A .Old Trafford has a name, soul and character like a tipical english stadium. That is its strength. Not these oval stadiums looking like an egg, similar each to each other. Greetings from Croatia
Option C. The original foundations of the main stand pre-date WW2 and the proximity of the railway line makes it very difficult. Also, where will United play if they just update Old Trafford? So, a New Old Trafford with a smaller adjacent stadium for the other teams including the women's team so they actually play in the city rather than over at Leigh.
Play on in the current stadium like Real Madrid did. It’s only one stand, foundations can be replaced and the train line incorporated. Then build a secondary smaller stadium in the adjacent car park rather than moving the whole stadium there 👍
I’m not a Man U fan but has to be option A, Old Trafford is such an iconic looking stadium. The other 2 while looking modern lack character and individuality.
Option A for me. It will take the capacity close to 100k. I'd love to keep the old look, after that then the stadium can be modernised inside for a better fan experience.
Tbh I'm not really worried about the capacity I like it because it's keeping with the style of Old Trafford I think at most it would get up to 86,000 capacity doing this not really sure because I'm pretty sure in England it's illegal to go above Wembleys 90k
@@kurtpunchesthings2411 Who told you that it's illegal? That seems like the most petty law ever if the case. Option A is the best in my opinion too. I know it doesn't look the most modern but Old trafford is unique. I would like upgrades to the north and elsewhere additionally on top but not a new roof structure.
Definitely option A. I’m not a fan of the futuristic looking stadiums, as cool as they may look, but with that said, the stadium has been left to fall apart for that long now, is it worth trying to repair and rebuild? It’s going to probably need a whole stand knocking down and rebuilt just to ensure it’s safe and can last another 100 odd years
@@fromthefountofyouth Of course it is bad, very bad for the finance of the club, are you aware why all the big clubs around the world want to have new stadiums? Not because they don't like the rain! But because they create an enormous amount of revenue in commercial activities. And not to count the rent of Skyboxes for the rich and famous, that's big business. And you can create that only with a brand new stadium configuration.
@@Tod_oMal You don't need a new stadium to market Old Trafford, you just need a clean, functional stadium with modern amenities. Anfield isn't as new and glitzy as the Spurs stadium, yet was only one of a few who made over £100m in stadium revenue. A stadium will host about 30 matches in a season (including the cups and depending on progress in them) but it isn't just about what you earn from games but also when there aren't games, like tours, events and experience.
Option A would be the most feasible from a financial viewpoint. People need to keep in mind that Man Utd are deeply in debt, not currently profitable and not forecast to be profitable anytime soon, so obtaining funding for a rebuild project costing $1 billion would not be easy. If OTOH they were bought out by a billionaire willing to spend his/her own money or putting up their assets as collateral then that could be a game changer.

As a Liverpool fan, I would hate the see an iconic stadium like Old Trafford be demolished and all its history with it. I hope they expand like FSG has done with Anfield and keep that history and glory…..
As a lifelong Utd fan of 36 yrs (since 5yrs old) I think it's time to rebuild. We need to set the standard that is Manchester United and a top of the range brand new stadium with 100,000 capacity sets the tone. Or as someone else said, at the very least a combination of a & b.
Old Trafford has lost its appeal as a state-of-the-art stadium. Needs a new build and 100,000 capacity, Has to compete or be better than Real Madrid or Barcelona stadia. For me option A is no good, We have countries with smaller GDPs we much more modern stadia - Qatar and Saudi Arabia for example. If we're not careful. we'll get overtaken, and not host major events in the future maybe. History has to take a back seat if we want modernisation.
Very nice video. Option A for sure. Old Trafford has such a great look and Option A will retain this iconic look. The other options whilst cool will just mean that the stadium will just blend in like all other new type stadiums.. Option A is stunning.
Options A and B close the possibility of further upgrade of the stadium. Option C gives the most long-term results. A larger and modern new stadium in the middle of the plot is by far the best option.
Option C exchanges the certainty for the promise. Throws architectural and historical identity in the trash. A football club is made up of its history and traditions. Its a huge advantage to preserve and value your past whenever possible
I would go with option c ... It's impossible to increase the size of the stadium because of the rail line ... Rebuilding offers us a new strong and massive structure.
No it's definitely possible to build over it yes it will take time to accomplish this but we can play home games in the Etihad while its being built hey don't look at me like that we've done it before back in the day when Old Trafford suffered catastrophic damage during the Blitz we played at Maine Road for a few seasons Point is I want this project to be done right and that means closing our stadium for a few years while the engineers and construction workers get it done Option A all the way
@@kurtpunchesthings2411 I don't think Man City will let Man Utd play at their stadium. Not after they were one of the (9 or 11 teams can't remember how many) teams which complained to Premier league over their latest incident.
For all those saying Option A (expand) this will be very difficult and much more expensive for the owners as the railway line is public and cannot be bought or easily built around, so for me Option C makes most sense, as the Glazers have been buying up the land around Old Trafford for years, and even a massive construction project like that would logistically be less of a challenge than Option A. Option B is pointless, since if the club is staying on the same site they may swell keep the same design with perhaps a new roof or two, to preserve the history of the club.
Option A for me. Expand increase stadium capacity, while upgrading the infrastructure inside Old Trafford. We'll have to move the Munich clock and plaque to the new outside of South East of the stadium. The other options are a no go for me, we would lose the character of Old Trafford and the new designs are all so similar to other new stadiums.
I prefer Option B because the stadium can be nicknamed "The Bed Pan" That way when Manchester loses a game, the puns will be absolutely incredible.. "Manchester's chances of winning a championship were flushed down the toilet today..." "The visiting team relieved themselves at the expense of Manchester in The Bed Pan" Whenever Manchester scores a goal, the sound of a flushing toilet can be heard throughout the entire stadium and surrounding area. Option B MUST become THAT reality.
Personally as a Newcastle fan I despise Manchester United. But I respect their history and heritage. And part of that heritage is it's existing stadium. Someone else commented go for option 3 as the existing stadium resembles 1980's and 90's outdated design. But again that's part of the heritage and like it or not old Trafford has an iconic presence known to football fans as someone else commented. Do United fans really want to lose that. In my opinion option A to retain its current look. Do United fans really want to be unable to differentiate the Bernabau from New Trafford. I think modern stadium designs are ugly spaceship like structures that look like something from a future Dystopian world science fiction books. Let football stadiums look like football stadiums.
Option A classic design and keeping the character and theme. Crown for the Kings of English football. The other two following the pack in design. Madrid are cladding their stadium similar I believe. Plus option B&C look like a bed pan.
If Option A included a brand new railway station, that could not only serve the stadium, but also the local area (in sore need of at least a little bit of redevelopment), then surely that would mean you could also expand the other 3 stands, courtesy of the fact you'd be able to close at least a tiny bit of the car parks backing onto the other 3 stands...
@@BrokenFaceComics a) the line is not freight only. It's on the Manchester-Liverpool via Warrington Central line. Sure, trains don't stop at the stadium now, but that's not to say they may not in the future. And b) sure, the Metrolink is a decent option, but it's pretty slow, at least compared to a train. So the answer is probably both should happen.
@azer It would be more complicated than a regular stand expansion or new station, but as long as the engineering is sound (which it should be, as its entirely possible), then it could be approved, I reckon.
@@mastertrams it is 100% possible to accomplish this the only issue is the stadium would have to be closed and we would have to play at the Etihad during the construction time
The key thing here isn't whether the ground is rebuilt or improved it's about retaining what has made Old Trafford the best stadium in the world for decades. Apart from the 3rd tier of the North Stand, you get a great view from anywhere inside OT and you feel close to the action. I've never been to a stadium that holds over 80k that's any good whatsoever. For example the new Wembley is terrible just like the Nou Camp it' lacks the ability to create a tremendous atmosphere. You don't want people having no space to sit in like Anfield. OT is already tight enough. What IS needed is a big section of safe standing for a minimum of 12,000 slap bang in the middle of The Stretford End. Another area of safe standing is required for around 8,000 slap bang in the middle of The Scoreboard. Surely having safe standing can use less space and therefore allow more people to be close to the action elsewhere in the stadium? They need to employ the finest architects around and think outside the box to ensure that 100,000 can watch the match with no barriers to viewing, not be too far from the action. This will not be easy. It might not be possible. If it isn't I'd much rather have an amazing stadium that only holds 75,000 than a poor fan experience that holds 120,000. Now let's get rid of the Glazers. #GlazersOut
Option A for sure. However, it should be an expansion and upgrade. Replicate the North Stand and quadrants, however with a new lifted roof over the whole stadium. A bit like Wembley.
Options b and c aren't bad, just think that the stadium should have a different architectural design, although the designs aren't bad, they dont feel like how old Trafford should look, stick to angular shapes but modernised
I would say option A makes the most sense. At least then the train station would also go straight inside. I’m not a fan of the future styles stadiums, I had a strange thought though that it would be quite nice to see a football stadium with grass on its roof or solar panals etc ( I’m not a environmentalist but just thought it would be nice to see)
If it was option C I would want it to look different, not like just any other modern stadium. Also make the seats go up more rather than further out, creating a scarier atmosphere for opposition
I not a Manchester United fan but been over 30 times with Coventry City and I would love to see a rebuild as I know parts of the stadium are in bad condition. Just look at the new Spurs stadium it fantastic, Old Trafford needs a bigger crowd at least 90k
I would love to see how a rebuild would look, but option A/B makes more sense, keep the history and spirit of the ground
agree about the history aspect of it, but the condition of most of the stadium is awful.
The fans? You mean the dreary tourists don’t you?
Buddy rebuilding is best option , will give better comfort of watching game , ManU is all about fans , not few bricks .

@samwize28 what if it cost more than building an actual stadium. Could also take longer and we may have to reduce the capacity
@@andreww3621 The stadium isn’t the club, if you wanted to preserve your roots the club would still be playing in a field on North Road!
@@buubakrsaddiq I like all three ideas but it's the slanting shape of option B that kind of turns me off about it. What upgrades would like to see?
I would like a mix of Option A and B. Would like to retain the old style/foundations but there is certainly room for improvements and a new roof!
Tbh we don’t know what the structure is like at old Trafford it may not be able to be expanded
Let’s wait for the new owners to do all the relevant checks and consult with us

As a United fan from VIetnam that has never been to Old Trafford, i also like option A but with some suggestions i would like to add:
1/ Transform Stretford End to the largest single-tier stand. (Imagine massive tifo our die hard fans can assemble)
2/ Relocate disabled section (it's so inhuman to put them behind the goal)
3/ Bring back player tunnel to the center of stadium with modernized interior but the external brick look of the dugout must be preserved at all costs
4/ Need entire new roof design with modern, clean look, less sloped, no more hideous structured-exposed and retractibility.
5/ To maintain the "English ground" spirit, the new external must avoid the generic bowl-shaped design that makes the "New Trafford" look like an NFL stadium.
6/ A new state of the art museum
7/ Although the 360 giant screen (like SoFi stadium) is impressive, i personally think it only fits to NFL atmotsphere. I prefer the corner screen.
8/ Add creative attractions (Tottenham skywalk is a good example)
9/ The Bridgewater canal in front of Sir Alex Ferguson stand must be cleaned.
Hi mate, a good option to go to old Trafford is with a hospitality package :)
Where do you live mate? I'm a season ticket holder and have easy access to tickets
The inside of old Trafford is in such a state the only good option is to rebuild. To improve the stadium as much as it needs wod meet it will be totally new anyway. I'd rather see a new state of the art stadium. Old Trafford is iconic yes but as much as I would hate to see it go it needs to be done.

Option C's demolition of Old Trafford never occurred to me. Also, it seems to come out in a dream. Option A is still more acceptable to me.
Yeah Option A should have been what Old Trafford is currently had the leeches give a shit

The concourses are so grubby and dated - I was shocked tbh
COMBINATION OF BOTH A AND B WOULD BE PERFECT. EXTEND THE SOUTHSTAND AND MODERNISE IT COMPLETELY

Thought there would have been some prolonged shots! - anyway as a non MUFC fan who’s never been to OT - I’ll say expand it - maintain the same aesthetic and build over the railway line. Although love the renders of a new stadium and what an updated version similar to Bernabeu could look like
Ok - seen the full version - your best work yet - I’m not talented enough to visualise the expansion but you’ve done it.
I 2nd that.
Option A is the best for historical value since old Trafford is one of the most iconic Stadums in Europe
Option A is more precise in maintaining the spirit of place so that future generations can keep the spirit longer.

As a City fan myself, your club has a great history and id hate to see this stadium be demolished, A is the best option, but they should improve the roof alongside option A
Option A looks so sick, gives the idea of "the missing part is done" if you know what I mean.
All look grate but i do think they will got for option A or C but they do need a new roof all around
They desperately need Option C, the stadium is beyond repair at this point. It's the main reason behind the club's sale as the current owners would be required to invest in the club for the first time in their 18 year tenure.

Option A all day long, from a united season ticket holder. The modern bowl would look out of place and horrendous. Keep the character of OT and the history and atmosphere
They should do Option A
And refurb the entire stadium and it’s seats as is fix the roof etc
Nah yall high option C looks disgusting no charscter or soul whatsoever
Option A is the expansion and renovation we need while keeping with our classic style
@@kurtpunchesthings2411 could they rebuild the entire thing to look like option A. But with a better roof, 360 deg screen?
This basically.

Somewhere between A and B would be right I think.. extend over the railway but add a new modern roof and refurbish and modernise the whole place. 1.5 billion should do it. Do what they did in Madrid but with a more traditional external aesthetic. Also, sell the areas around the ground to developers for retail units, cafe's, cinema, music venue, museum, public gardens etc to create jobs for people, help the economy and put money back in to the refurb.
nah you need land to develope in time you could add that to the club revenue

Option C for me too, but not just a metallic blob, add design elements from the existing Old Trafford.
You could even make the existing pitch area some sort of garden tourist attraction instead of just a new car park. Imagine being able to have a picture taken in the same place as the old centre spot, amazing.
I think a mixture of 1 and 2 a hybrid if you like , option 1 with option 2 roof and cladding

Greetings from Croatia
Option A seems like best idea maybe tweek the design slightly to modernise it a little and totally gutting the interior
Then build a secondary smaller stadium in the adjacent car park rather than moving the whole stadium there 👍
Madrid did a season away from their stadium and played at the training ground when the foundations were being reconstructed

all three would be in 95k area
@@codydouglass I mean I can't imagine the FA would ever allow an English stadium to pass Wembley in capacity so I'm just assuming it's a law
Option A. Keep it in the past - that's where the club belong. Option's B and C are the future.
Option A but improve the remaining structure to stop leaking pipes and rat infestations from reoccuring
Definitely option A. I’m not a fan of the futuristic looking stadiums, as cool as they may look, but with that said, the stadium has been left to fall apart for that long now, is it worth trying to repair and rebuild? It’s going to probably need a whole stand knocking down and rebuilt just to ensure it’s safe and can last another 100 odd years
Option A. Maintain the heritage!
Always C.
With A or B you will always have an old stadiun setup, no matter what you do.
And that's bad? For context, people come to London to see Buckingham Palace not The Shard. I'm sure you know the reason for that.

Why not A+B?
As a Liverpool fan, I would hate the see an iconic stadium like Old Trafford be demolished and all its history with it. I hope they expand like FSG has done with Anfield and keep that history and glory…..
As a United fan, I don't care what you would hate. Your stadium is shit and looks like an updated Boleyn Ground.
@killbot86 haha behave yourself darling!, it's dead after the first song. Off you trot to buy another LW now.

u have more sense than most united fans here lol
I like option C with the idea of keeping the current OT pitch and renovating into reserve team stadium
For me option b and c are the best for a great rebuild if Qatar buys Utd and brings Mbappe to us
There's enough bowl style stadiums, option A that steel in the roof🤤🤤🤤🤤
Option A all day long! Great work
As a lifelong Utd fan of 36 yrs (since 5yrs old) I think it's time to rebuild.
Fake fan
I choose type A only, The magic that must be preserved.
Option A.. Expand.. Restructure and replace the old structures which needs replacement..
I would go with option c ... It's impossible to increase the size of the stadium because of the rail line ... Rebuilding offers us a new strong and massive structure.
No it's definitely possible to build over it yes it will take time to accomplish this but we can play home games in the Etihad while its being built hey don't look at me like that we've done it before back in the day when Old Trafford suffered catastrophic damage during the Blitz we played at Maine Road for a few seasons
Point is I want this project to be done right and that means closing our stadium for a few years while the engineers and construction workers get it done
Option A all the way
@@kurtpunchesthings2411 I don't think Man City will let Man Utd play at their stadium.
Option B is pointless, since if the club is staying on the same site they may swell keep the same design with perhaps a new roof or two, to preserve the history of the club.
ahah liverpool fan midtable. go talk about ur irrelevant club
Typical Liverpool bastard advocating for old Trafford to be torn down go away this video is not for you
Option A for me.
I prefer Option B because the stadium can be nicknamed "The Bed Pan"
That way when Manchester loses a game, the puns will be absolutely incredible..
"Manchester's chances of winning a championship were flushed down the toilet today..."
"The visiting team relieved themselves at the expense of Manchester in The Bed Pan"
Whenever Manchester scores a goal, the sound of a flushing toilet can be heard throughout the entire stadium and surrounding area.
Option B MUST become THAT reality.
Or maybe make a mall just for Manchester United fans beside the Old Trafford after expanding or upgrading it🔥
Personally as a Newcastle fan I despise Manchester United.
This is amazing! Thank you for doing this!
Old trafford needs option A and renovation
Option A classic design and keeping the character and theme. Crown for the Kings of English football.
The other two following the pack in design. Madrid are cladding their stadium similar I believe. Plus option B&C look like a bed pan.
As a United fan I will prefer option C cose it will give a new look and fresh from ground also it will redevelop Trafford
The train line is freight. Increased Metrolink capacity is the most viable alternative.
@@mastertrams can they even build on the railways ?? Will it be approved
@azer It would be more complicated than a regular stand expansion or new station, but as long as the engineering is sound (which it should be, as its entirely possible), then it could be approved, I reckon.
@@mastertrams it is 100% possible to accomplish this the only issue is the stadium would have to be closed and we would have to play at the Etihad during the construction time
Option B looks like how the Bernabéu will be when it's finished awful
How is that awful lmao

#GlazersOut
In my personal opinion, option B and option C are for the future of Manchester United
Option a, keep the spirit❤
I not a Manchester United fan but been over 30 times with Coventry City and I would love to see a rebuild as I know parts of the stadium are in bad condition. Just look at the new Spurs stadium it fantastic, Old Trafford needs a bigger crowd at least 90k
