      Sometimes you have to play for yourself also not only team...
      If he has played sensibly from semis we would easily best Australia in that match.
      No doubt he is a great player and captain but he had to play a captain's knock from semis, you can't be a sloger in knockout games.
      His biggest mistake was in understanding the pitch early on, he should have known that new batsmens will face prblems on that pitch once ball lose its shine after 10 overs and he was set after 10 overs and put a huge powerplay score still he tried to be over aggressive and threw away his very imp wicket.
      Look at what Travis head did, he stayed in that pitch as a opener and didn't there away his wicket.
      That why they are Australia.. they think very sensibly and practically..

      Rohit Sharma is the biggest choker. He never performed big in semifinals and finals. He never takes responsibility of posting a good total for the team. Virat needs to do that every single time. And when Virat doesn't bat deep, India collapses. Rohit couldn't even do a proper field setting in the final match. Crumbled under pressure. Except Virat, all the batters choked. India could have only won the match if Virat had scored 120-130. We lost 3 wickets in the powerplay and KL Rahul due to fear of failure started playing slow. It put pressure on Virat.

    • @Indian-j2l
      @Indian-j2l Год назад

      Exactly, there was no need for him to throw away his wicket as India were in a very strong position in the powerplay. It was because of his wicket Shreyas Iyer got out without making an impact. I totally agree with you.@@chintanmehta8938

But fans don't stand there under the Sun for eight long hours every match and not to mention the exhausting practice schedules that the players go through. Yes, the players make crores but for those who have played the game for so long, winning a world cup is something they want to achieve, say, for someone like Rohit or Kohli. Ones sitting on their desks in the Air conditioned office and watching it on Hotstar while managing work, why should they be paid anything? Wow, you do realise it's an ODI game right? Things don't work like T20s here. How do you think Rohit would have played if India were 3 down for just 80 runs after only 10 overs? Do you think Kohli and Rahul should've also threw their wicket like Rohit in next 5 overs and then let Surya and Jadeja bat? Both Surya and Jadeja were useless as batters whole tournament so it was apparently Kohli and Rahul who were the last recognised batting pair in that line up. If they had also tried to play like Rohit and lost both their wickets under next 10 overs then India wouldn't have even touched 200 leave 240. This is the effect IPL is having on kids mentality. They don't understand the difference between an ODI game and T20 game. We saw how badly the selfless English team was belted this whole tournament.

    And 6 months later they won t20wc❤🎉 You gave your best in that 2023 wc finals..80 runs in the first 10 overs was a perfect start on that bowling pitch.People say you didn't need to hit that shot as 10 runs already came in that over but that was your intent through out the whole tournament.I am sure if you knew that others will threw their wickets , you would have not taken suck risk.But all is well if the end is well..Virat and rohit both deserved this wc and yes not to forget Bumrah...That legend also deserved an icc trophy as he gave his all in 2023 wc still couldn't win.Siraj Miya literally cried on that final's loss..but at last he also lifted that trophy.The one man for whom i feel sad is Mohammad shami...Who has been playing for India since 2014 in every icc tournament..Taking injections just to play for the country and the team.He missed out on that t20 2024 wc, hope god has some better plan for him.( SORRY guys if its too long😊 )

    Before the word cup I had no faith in the team and I was disappointed. But the way India performed in the world cup absolutely surprised me. India played the type of cricket which I haven't seen them play from a very long time. This was close to being as dominant as Australia were in the previous era. However, the fear of failure got to the team in final. Also my respect for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli grew after watching how they played in the Word Cup. Australia were better on the day and even they had been playing good cricket. After a long time I did not feel disappointed when India lost the final, because the brand of cricket they played in the world cup was defined by Brave, aggressive and disciplined plays, which I saw after quite a long time. i felt bad when India lost in previous tournaments because India did not play the brand of cricket they were capable of playing. Australia won the final, but my respect for my team grew manyfolds, obviously the trophy would have been great but way India played the tournament, I am satisfied to the fullest.

    Sport is cruel! Only one will win, which means another will suffer. I think, on the flip side, it teaches us to learn and move on from failures.
    In Cricket, India should try to eliminate corruption at the grass roots level (which is almost impossible, I think) and create a team that can play like the Australia of the 2000s or the West Indies of the 70s abd 80s. This will give a great joy to watch despite the result.
    Congratulations on the recent victory! ❤
