Scream 7 left me feeling like how Richie felt about Stab 8
literally was saying this omg
I SAID THE EXACT SAME THING!!!
I've been feeling that since scream 5
That it suck balls?
Dude I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one making this comparison leaving the theater opening night. I was like damn scream 7 sucks, I’m betrayed, those actors are dead!
I just kept thinking
"Who the F greenlit this script?"
🤦♂️💀
I was like “there’s no one they were okay with releasing it to the public” lmaoo
It would of made more sense if the 2nd killer was the son
@tommyrandazzo8091 well no. people actually wrote the script.
@tommyrandazzo8091I think even A.I. would write a better script than this.
@thepistolguy859
No, it would've been better if Stu was actually alive and pulling the strings.
Or it would've been better to just leave the A.I. Stu out of this seeing that none of the two killers had any type of relationship with Stu.
Kinda like how they brought Billy back. Made sense cause he had a daughter and the daughter is traumatized and sees him. Boom. Makes sense.
Stu part does not makes sense in this movie.
The kill at the bar when they put him
On the beer tap that to me feels more of like a Michael Myers kill rather than a ghost face kill
And at the reveal, it's confirmed that the mother off'd her own kid.
How tf did that bih lift him up?
WHO WROTE THIS SH*T?
@CS_GOD64 She never said SHE did it, just that he was killed and deserved it for being too much like his father.
It was terrible...
Same thing i said
Good the kills were getting boring
Scream became the horror movies it used to make fun of... Ironic.
And also that Beer Tap death was straight outta of a parody movie like the Scary Movie franchise
They have massacred my boy😢
People have been saying that since Scream 3 lol.
@3CFilms by Marlon Brando (Vito Corleone) 😢
@meowy0407it felt too comedic yeah. Like it would make sense in a unserious slasher like heart eyes or silent night or anything like that
Scream 8: Stu's actually alive and is pissed that his house is burned down!
That would be so pathetic, they need to stop relying on nostalgia bait and make something more fresh and original, scream is starting to feel outdated
The Reckoning
I do think having the killers son be the only anti-AI character is funny
Someone on letterboxd said it best, “you either die a Scream or live long enough to become a Stab”. This feels so much like what a Stab movie is.
The Stu AI thing was a giant rug pull and slap in the face.
💯
You mean…slap in the “ghost face” 🤣
Many ppl THEORIZED about it being AI too . I was hoping theyd be wrong.
There’s one point where Tatum is running down the street, but she kind of stops to scream. It made me think of “whatre you waiting for” from scary movie loool
Yeasssssss😂 so much of the movie was giving tropes amped up to be funny not serious. I laughed a lot through most of it
I legit was like "what in the heck are you even doing"
Same. 😅
Gales entrance gives Gale Weathers will return in avengers endgame…
😂
Oh my gosh 💀💀💀💀
Hahahhahahhahaha😂😂😂😂
Unfortunately, she took out the best incarnation of a Ghostface killer in this movie. The guy was an actual serial killer, which is why he knew what he was doing and he was so lethal. And then we got stuck with those two idiots at the end. The guy who got killed had the real motive to be Ghostface. He could just step into a role that he was already born for. When he was the Ghostface killer, it was very interesting
She'll also return in Avengers: Doomsday...
one thing I hate is that they made Sidney and the cops kinda dumb. Like you're telling me the cops check under the bed and in the closets then make sure doors and windows are locked but don't check the attic? anyone who has an attic has always once worried someone is in their attic but yeah ghost face attacks her friends and NO ONE thinks to check the attic???? Like bro what
The cops were even made dumb in Die Hard ironically a title they could use for scream or final destination movies.
I pardon it because they had to find a way to place Ghostface in the house 😂😂😂😂😂. They should have left searching the house part alone though.
Why also didn’t Sidney call for the police to arrive at the tavern that her daughter and the others were hanging at? The killers used AI Stu to literally reveal where they’d be at. Instead Sidney wastes so much time running all the way over there.
@StormX6she tried calling mark
@anthonyjones3835and no one else 😂
The Scream franchise is the definition of you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain
Jessica could've been such a standout character if they had actually developed her relationship with Sid. Showing them bond over motherhood would've added so much depth, and giving us a real scene of Jessica reacting to her son's death with Sid there to comfort her would've made the reveal hit so much harder.
I heard another reviewer saying it would have been awesome to have her unmask herself after killing her own son and go a little crazy over what she just did.
Lots of wasted opportunities in this one.
I was thinking the same thing while watching it!
If you use process of elimination, it was Jessica who killed her son, because we know the ghostface who was chasing Tatum was the psych ward guy so knowing that we know the ghostface in the bar was Jessica so if that happened it would’ve made her seem more f’ed up
And if she was Leslie
@califf0761Jessica literally says she killed her son
That reveal had so much potential but ended up having the killers be so disappointing and having a crappy motive that felt rushed
Isn’t that almost how all the movies
@Allstarman89Arguably. But here, that is objectively the case, and it’s BY FAR the most extreme example of it in the franchise.
Bro reveal I didn’t even know who tf they were.. took my 5/10 min to figure out who tf was these people 😂😂
@Snipeee215same here. I was like who fook are these people. I barely seen them in the movie 😂
@Snipeee215 It was the opposite for me, I guessed the killers way earlier than the reveal. The look the orderly gave Sidney when she came to the asylum immediately gave away that he was obsessed with her. Thought it would be a Scream-3-scrapped-script motive of a 'Cult of Stu'. And I just had a feeling about the neighbour, although until he died I did think she was working with her son.
The burning down Stu's house would of made sense IF the killer was Stu's sister! Because they turned their childhood home into a place that part of it shows the area where Stu died with the tv!
Yeah would either of these particular Ghostface's care about burning Stu'd home?
Did he have one of those? 🤔
Honestly It would have been cool if it actually was stu and his crazy ass roommate
@Dumfuk343 It would have been awesome!!
Exactly, and Anna camp was perfect to do that role but she was wasted on that character she ended up playing
I felt as though this one lacked so much characterization for everyone besides the Evans family. The killers had little to no screen time and their motives were what really?
I wasn’t a fan of the killers in this movie. There wasn’t any real good motivation or connection to Sidney to have gone on a killing spree beyond them being just fanatics.
The CGI was shocking, after all the money they spent on part 6
The motive was a meta stab at the crazy fans that hated six because it had no Sid.
I'm weird. I liked this one
In Scream 7, Gayle had wrist tremors, took pain meds from her attack in scream 6, but Chad showed absolutely zero effects from getting butchered in scream 6. I hate when they put in continuity details and completely ignore other continuity issues
That mf has been pincushion’d twice now he should have muscle and nerve issues everywhere.
@joshbourne9679I would’ve respected this movie so much more if they showed Chad in a wheelchair for the movie and shown the daily pain he goes through and emotional trauma he has. Would’ve gave the movie weight
I think because he is technically still young can heal better and faster than someone of Courtney's age and trauma lol
That too! Love that Chad is Alive but you’re right there should be some sign of nerve damage or something
@3CFilms Dewey got half the stabbing Chad got in scream two walked around with a permanent limp for the rest of the franchise
You know... something I noticed...
It never rains in Scream movies.
this is the only scream movie where i genuinely had no idea who the killers were and it literally took me a minute to figure out who they are even after seeing their faces
Same. When the guy unmasked I asked who he was. 😢
The simp ex-google asylum worker was the easiest to guess. There was no way in hell they'd resurrect Stu in this movie so the asylum worker was 100% gf. Deranged and terrible mother was harder to guess. I initially suspected her, but once GF killed her son in really gruesome way, I scratched her from the suspects list. How the hell I was supposed to guess she'd be a nutjob enough to kill her own son cause' he reminded her of the abuser husband?!
i kept being suspicious of the guys because you know the theory all the scream killers wear a blue flannel lol
The moment that guy at the psych ward started talking about him knowing Stu was a dead give away that he was one of the killers.
@randomkillerx2157I knew it was him because I thought, Ethan Embry might not be a name anymore but no way he needs to sign on for only this scene
Stu being AI frustrated the F out of me.
Me to I was hoping for Stu to come back
I really want to know how the boyfriend wasn't one of the killers... when Tatum showed him the AI video for the first time in the tavern, and he suddenly had a full video of him in front of a green screen saying he wanted to kill her mother, and a full Stu Macher AI filter on his laptop... and he was "just seeing if he could make one"??
WHAT
exactly what i said, how are we just passing over that?? like what was his reasoning for doing that shii and not be a killer
I feel like the boyfriend did the killings at the school and think he was about to rat so they killed him
It’s called a red herring
It's just bad writing guys. Terrible writing.
@lewixssmithx That's a REALLY bad red herring. Lmao.
He made a video of him threatening to kill his girlfriends mom, and decided to design and implement a full, photo realistic AI face filter that looks exactly like a long dead serial killer, all within the what? maybe an hour they were all at the bar?
And did it all without his girlfriend or anyone else seeing, while they were RIGHT THERE with him?
A red herring still needs to make sense.
First reviewer that actually said something about the opening kill being given away in trailer. One of the most crucial parts of the franchise and it was fumbledddddd.
Yeah it should like a rule never show footage from the opening of a scream movie in the trailer!
You clearly haven't been watching very many reviews about the movie then....
Wouldn’t have been an issue if they teased it but they showed everything 😢
They did the same with Scream 5 and made it obvious she survived. I really dislike that they do that with trailers.
That happened? I deliberately avoid trailers for this reason, but they revealed a killer in the trailer???
The core 4 was so tired of being stabbed they just passed out 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.
Thats real tho but the others got brutilized
Yeah they played dead lol.
9:20 As a fnaf fan can I just say that I found it pretty funny that Mckenna Grace and Matthew Lillard were in the same movies back to back? It amused me lol.
I get what they were trying to go for with the killers. Crazed, parasocial celebrity stans. It was just executed weirdly, and they barely had any screen-time so there was no impact.
The more i get this motive explained it does start to kinda make sense. But if they were gonna do a crazed mother, I almost would’ve preferred if it was because her kid was friends with Sydney’s daughter, and the parent would know that might put their kid at risk if a new Ghostface showed up. So maybe the parent would take it upon themselves to burn down Stu’s house and try to kill the legacy characters so that hopefully no more ghostfaces are inspired to attack that family without Syd.
Still a crazy motive but might sound sensible to a crazy overprotective parent
Yeah they were going for the whole crazed fan thing but it felt super underdeveloped and it didn't really make that much sense
I felt like they should of just had the son and mother be the duo instead but it wouldn't be so "surprising" lol
If they have any deleted scenes with them they should put them back into the movie.
@QT_L25The plot still didn't make sense at many parts
My opinion did a complete 180 after that reveal. I was actually enjoying the movie, and then the mask came off. I had already guess that it was Marco and Jessica, but I figured they would have a strong motive to make up for that lackluster reveal. But boy was I wrong.
The weakest Ghostface motive.
I don't understand what made this movie so " Great" until the reveal
I looked at almost every metric and I feel like it's the worst or the second worst in the franchise if you look at writing, character development, The opening.. basically any objective metric
@NationalSportsEntertainmentNSE I liked the opening, and a few of the chase sequences, like the scene in Sidney's house. It was at least something different
I didn’t even know they were. I went back and watch it the second time and it was just a dumb thought.
I know I was loving it until the reveal. Even stu just being A.i. they could have had something better at the end.
Why didn’t Matthew just come back as the killer. He was right there?! Anna Camp could’ve been the Harley to his Joker, an obsessive mental patient sent ahead to set everything up for his return. Would’ve tied everything together in my opinion.
They filmed a alternate ending where he was revealed as the killer but some test audiences didn’t like that ending or him being alive
I BEEN WAITING FOR THIS PAPI 😩
Daddy chill
You wildin babe
@william3253 what the hell is even that?
@william3253😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Exactly: this one did not feel like a Scream film! I was disappointed and underwhelmed. I missed the Roger Jackson phone calls 😢
Boo hoo. You should have known this going in thats on you
@anthonyjones3835 nah. it really isnt. YOU arent a real scream fan bro
@ichliebe.vamolaoh really and why's that lmao I'm a stu lives guy myself.. they said months before hand AI would have a big part in the movie so what else could that possibly mean other than AI phone/FaceTime calls from Ghostface...
@anthonyjones3835reporting your comments.
The fact that the killer did all that in that intro for Sidney to not even know about it is funny.
Tatum’s drama teacher completely disappearing 40% into the movie is such a confusing detail. I was waiting to see how he was gonna show back up, but he never did. Maybe he’ll return in Scream 8
Just a good red herring
Tatums drama teacher will return in avengers doomsday
His a teacher.. her didn't need to be a big part of the plot
@3CFilmsA bad red herring exists just to exist. Serves no function. Compare to Randy, Derek, or Judy.
@Close_EncounterssGood One!😂
Ai was interesting concept it was just used incorrectly
Agreed
It’s also very relevant to the times we live in now
the only movie where the ads and trailers before the movie were more interesting than the actual movie
I’m excited for Mario Galaxy
The guy killer literally had no motive 💀💀
Don't be crazy. He knew it and he was an orderly or something. Clearly you have fallen victim to Kevin Williamson's alien level directing that us mere humans can't understand
I mean think about the nuance to the other ghostface killer. Not Carl the very well defined character
But the one girl. She did Pilates and Sydney wasn't in New York so perfect logic. And if you disagree, you are a toxic fan so the movie wins
@NationalSportsEntertainmentNSE it’s crazy we live in a world where you get called a toxic fan for having a difference of opinion 🙄 makes you ironically toxic when you think about it
He did he want to be the new ghost face
I mean, neither did Stu in the OG. I think he quite literally tells Sydney his motive on the phone in the kitchen at the end, “ peer pressure. I’m far too sensitive”.
@r4y1996 That's cool. Makes him interesting. He's basically there for the lulz
The new guy literally was just there, no motives, no relationships to the victims, nor the past killers......
It's like, why is he even there?
lol “what’s your Cash App”’🤣🤣
For a moment with the first ghostface being the random coffee shop customer, I really thought they might be going for a ghostface cult angle. Even if it was a small cult, I feel like that would have been a bit more cohesive than what we got. I’m not entirely sure I understand the motive this time lol
IKR. And then when you started seeing multiple Ghostfaces running around town hunting Tatum, I was so happy because I just Knew we were going to get what we were asking for. It was almost like a mini Purge.
I even thought Sidney was going to come across a couple of them and maybe that's why she couldn't get to her daughter in time. But instead we got a head scratching scene with her deciding to run all over the place instead of just having Gale drive her.
Pshhh. Whatever
Scream 7 unfortunately left me with more questions than answers and I've never really felt like that before after watching a Scream movie...
Sameeee
Hopefully there's more to it in 8. But I think it's the end of the franchise.
Tatum got over Hannah killed too damn fast. She was not worried.
I just tell myself that they’re compartmentalizing because there’s so much going on they don’t have time to mourn. But it really does come off like she couldn’t care less, especially even after her boyfriend.
@socks1w Even the friends at the bar were all too calm and joyful... it was weird. Then at the end Tatum is just fine she literally tells her mom shes okay lmao
Ya
Same thoughts. They could have at least given Tatum a scene to grieve.
@AllThingsInfamous1yea agree tooo rushed 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol i was half way through the Scary Movie 6 breakdown and it was unavailable as soon as i was about to post a comment 💀
I really wish at the end when jessica was ranting about how sydney failed tatum as a parent she shouted "at least jamie lee taught her daughter to fight in the halloween reboot!".
That would have been so good!!
Genuinely feels like a parody
Especially with Chad, Mindy, and Gale.
It feels as if Tori Spelling should play Sydney Prescott. That's the level of parody it feels like.
i thought they all felt that way
@BlackHammer0891no. It’s Gale’s time to go after this. Same with one of the twins.
1000% agree on the opening. I think it was purely written to sell the movie in the trailer/posters because burning the Macher house is a flex.
Ghost face: " hey I'm at the grocery store do you need anything?" 😂
Chad and Mindy are becoming my fav characters. Not in the movie excessively yet I think they were a highlight.
Yuck
They're funny. I like them and hope to see them survive another round of stabbings lol
No. So annoying.
Yeah, love the twins. But they are Randy’s niece and nephew, so maybe I’m biased🤷🏽♂️
@elliloveeeeexample?.
I miss the quippy lines of the OG scream movie "oh am i supposed to die now"
I have never heard so many people sigh at a movie screening before. It was actually so baffling.
No way😂
Ya, my entire audience groaned outloud at the reveal
It was good until the reveal. And mostly 3rd act.
For the start of the movie, i was thinking the rest was gonna be ghostface trying to frame sid for the house burning and deaths
This wouldve been great
It’s funny because I loved the movie yet I agree with every single thing you said
Ay i appreciate the honesty
3:42 I never thought about that until you said it! That makes absolutely no geographical sense!🤣
It's weird that in a franchise where you have a nancy loomis and a detective bailey who literally became ghostface because of their kids being unalived... anna camp decides to become ghostface and unalive her own son
Nothing wrong with that
Did she kill her son? I assumed it was Marco since you would need some raw strength to lift someone off of the ground by just their head before spiking it through the beer tap.
@timritenour1651but he was chasing tatum and we know that when he says to Sidney that he would had been dead if tatum didn't missed the shot, so jessica was bussy attacking everyone at the bar
The Good Mythical Morning video Mckenna Grace did for press is longer than her appearance in scream 7
16:09 me being cringe with my family in the video call.
What surprises me is that as much as they like to go back to the well with Scream 1996, they always overlook one of the big points of that movie, sometimes no motive is scarier. Billy says that in the first movie before he tells Sydney about his mom's affair. After that point, he stops being the entity that is Ghostface and becomes more human. He becomes emotional and reckless and that eventually leads to his downfall. Most of the killers in this franchise are like that. I think this movie would have been ten times better if this killer didn't have an emotional connection to Sydney at all. Imagine if this Ghostface saw Sydney as nothing more than baggage that was weighing the legacy of Ghostface down. The attack in New York would be their proof. In universe, there's a Ghostface attack, Sydney wasn't there and everything still worked out. Out of universe, Neve wasn't in Scream 6, and it was still successful without her. The killer could have been a manifestation of a question I think we all had after that movie came out; can Scream survive without Sydney? If they had used that as their main thesis for Scream 7, I think it could have worked even with the outside circumstances with Spyglass. This could still be a Sydney focused story, the Carpenter sisters can still be absent without feeling left out, Gale and Sydney's family can still be important. I have so much to say about what this movie could have been, but this is turning into some kind of manifesto, so I'll end this here.
Scream 8 writer right here.
I personally enjoyed it but it’s definitely the weakest. It felt like there was a lot of scenes cut out.
Stu’s house was burned down and we didn’t even get a reaction from gale and Sidney.
What was the point of tatums bf talking playing with the ai
Mindy and Chad were wasted. At this point they should be assets to defeating ghost face not just there to get stabbed and live yet again
I liked it until the end and the reveal. It was so good up until that point. Hopefully they will extend more on this story in 8.
I also hope Stu actually comes back. Why bring Matthew Lillard come back why not have him actually be alive and have a cult.
I don’t mind letting Williamson cook in the writers kitchen but don’t let him back into the Directors kitchen
Directors bring to life whats written. It should be the other way around
@SBzKillFrenzyAny director can do that. Williamson wrote the original and first sequel that’s what they meant.
Christopher Landon is a way better director for a Scream film than Williamson tbh
And it's a shame that Landon had to leave because the version that he was supposed to be making with Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega never come to fruitiion
@h1d4pj0k0w1that’s something that makes me sad because I think Landon would’ve made a great movie especially since he made 2 great ones. Hopefully they one day get him back
I sadly agree. But very open to seeing another scream FULLY written by him
I instantly knew Jessica was GF the first and second scene she was in.
The only 2 scenes 😂
@logangallant229😂😂😂😂😂
Sidney didnt even know the house was burned down seemed like they did it just so they dont have to use the house anymore 😂
I had fun with it…but mane the ghost face reveals just killed it for me…I was deadass confused by why tf they went with Jessica and the worker from the hospital? wtf!…n the motives were juss plain stupid asf 🤦♂️
Its like kevin had about 5 ideas and did not know how to connect them so now its a mess
Agreed! The attempt of meta commentary is there but none of gets fulfilled
The only credit i can give the movie is the soundtrack. i liked it
Don’t forget the scary movie 6 teaser
Monday! When the trailer is officially online so I can show footage without it getting taken down
Ever go to a movie, see a preview, and want to see that movie instead? 😂
To add onto the opening I think if Stu were alive, the news of his house going up in flames would piss him off. That house was his legacy, it was a physical place that brought him a long lasting infamy and was a display on everything he and Billy did. Which is exactly what he wanted. It was the real life movie set of his own horror movie. And it got destroyed.
If that’s the opening they wanted to go for I feel like they would have benefited on bringing Stu back for real because that could be one of his motives. His home, his museum, his movie set- gone up in flames. Gotta make another, right?
Did Mindy or Chad even mention the Carpenter sisters 🤦♂️ Chad & Tara were starting a relationship at the end of 6 & here its like they never existed 🤦♂️ so much for the Core 4
My man Chris looking fine 🗿
Ay chillllll
Woahhhhhhh
@GengarsHollow22woah🧌
So were the neighbors that were ghostface in the end the same ghostface that killed the couple in the intro
ghost face motive...."I read a book" hahaha....
😂😂😂😂
" oh it was such a great book! " 🤣🤣
15:42 If Don Mancini getting full control of the Child's Play franchise has taught us anything it's that a series writer becoming the director isn't necessarily a good thing.
I just left the theater to see this and I’ve never wanted my money back so bad😅
Couldve been top 3 scream movies for me if it was actually Stu
++++++
A 100%, should had more things burned down
how you gonna bring someone back from the graves , like how. stu fake his dead?
@musialae exactly how the killer guy explained when he lied to gale & sidney.. stu was wondering the streets & killing people, then got checked into that metal institution.
@musialaejust the way the bring back all the dead characters in the movies and shows… like it’s not a super rare thing to do tbh
I know this would likely never happen but for scream 8 I would love for it to be from ghostface perspective just to switch it up
That’s what the original Scream 7 script was supposed to be with Same and Tara as the killers
@DoniPlayedYouthat was never the plan
They had a real chance in Scream 6 to get into the GF cult group.. it almost looked like an OG Ghostface killer was hunting down this fan-cult. Which would have been sick, not knowing the hero and the members, hunting each other. Idk. This was so weird. Just two randos who didn't like her book, and did Pilates to become John Wick in a mask somehow.
And the two F4 survivors just somehow walked outta the bar?? What?
@ChristianAuldridgegoogles free
@28:36 I love all the Scream films and every single member of the cast. I don’t like 7 because Melissa is gone, I liked it because I genuinely thought it was good. I know I’m not alone in that, and I’d love for her to come back in a future installment when cooler heads prevail
Yes
Damn I was hoping Cris mentioned that damn tv screen scene with all the past characters right before the ghostface reveal.
specifically david arquette's hairstyle, they could have easily thrown a Dewey style wig on him 😂
Yea failed they could have used Dewey to call Gale
Not a montage with killers lol
I did appreciate they had Laurie Metcalf come back for it. I hadn't seen any mention of her being in this before I saw it. Nice surprise.
3:48 They do mention someone removed the Stu burial papers, so I assumed thats why Ghostface went to Woodsboro...🤷🏻♂️
I think the documents were long gone before the events of this film
the way you described the movie reflecting the toxic fans in real life is just making me think its actually more meta than we initially thought lol, "this movie is making of you", thats so Scream
Scream 8 kim kardashian as ghostface, whats next😅
They should have GhostFace Killah as the GhostFace.
@joshuasutton983that would lowkey would be fire
The way you posted this when I just finished the movie (I was still in theaters as well😭)
Dawg said John Wayne Gracie 😭
i personally liked it. i didn’t love it. had a lot of issues. had a lot of things i thought were cool. i will say this movie has the coolest ghostface shots. overall i don’t understand the hate for it but i can understand the disappointment.
I still respect your opinion and I’m glad you enjoyed it. Here’s hoping we all agree Scream 8 is awesome.
@3CFilms yknow I appreciate that despite this movie not being the greatest you still hold out hope the next will be better, not enough people are optimistic nowadays
Coolest ghostface shots?? Yhh you are not a scream fan😂
@Userg2001whaaa the GF shots were EPIC
@3@3CFilmsme here! hopefully 8 is way better. i also agree, new director. btw thanks for replying goat
31:48 But that’s the problem guys, if you keep pushing these watered-down versions of franchises you just keep telling them „MORE, please, here’s the money“
That's what's happened to the mcu, but woke mob keeps demanding more 💩
Also doesn’t really explain why the boyfriend had the AI Stu on his laptop
True
I find the parasocial motive interesting tbh, this whole thing about starting fresh to make way for a new cycle of trauma was interesting to me tbh. Which is how it connects with the opening. I didn’t care for the other killer he was pretty forgettable. I also love that we did get a taste of that original idea from scream 4 of killing a killer early on in the film. I really need to do a rewatch tho bc with every convo I have about the film the more I begin to dislike it which hurts me sm as a fan. My favorite thing this movie did was not having Stu be alive again. That whole Stu truther stuff was always a chop for me and I’m happy they didn’t do it. I just really appreciate your brutal honesty and not glazing the film but not hating it immediately.
Ironically in Scream 5 the deatmeat cameo scene of them talking about Stab 8 and its just too far gone is how the Scream franchise ended up with a series of unfortunate events from 6-7💀
I think i like scream 5 eqch time i rewatch it that one felt just modern enough but felt like a solid end.
I've had that position from the beginning and people have said how much better 6 was
And I thought that was going to happen again and people seemingly have some logic this time around
I still think 5 Is much better than 6 4, and 3 but yeah.. Not sure why it's not in a higher class from a consensus standpoint. Especially if people really like 6 and like 7 at all
You summed it up perfectly for me. I agree with everything you said.
It's actually so ironic how in scream 1-3 the third one ended up being bad due to some problems behind the screen and now in scream 5-7 the seventh one ended up being awful as well due to controversy behind the scenes 😭
The cursed Trilogy effect 😅
Wrong, it's 4-6
Scream may never get its perfect arc trilogy it sought after with part 3
No, I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head with the way, the franchise is and what they should do with it.
I can't be the only one that thought Tatum's boyfriend looked just like Cotton....
I was distracted thinking he looked like Stiffler from American Pie
If Scream 8 happens, they better have Stu back in person and not as an AI copycat, because that felt like that's all this movie had going for it after the production problems with the story
Im sorry but this was all the Stu we were ever gonna get. They will not bait us or use him again 100% guarantee it
He’s never coming lol
Unless the backlash gets huge. Wishful thinking though.
Scream 8 has already been green lit
@robbyroba I think it already has. The Internet has declared this movie basically unwatchable.
thank you chris , i felt the same way and im a huge scream fanatic
Just wondering, do you think they could bring back stu ever ?
27:07 EXACTLY!! The reveal/3rd act was lacking that grandness to it. It’s like they phone it in
Also sorry for not sending a superchat yesterday, I fell asleep. So here it is: Live 17 waiting for a 3c short film.
Never apologize for that. You just watch and enjoy the content 🙏🏻 I appreciate you!
I feel like every time stu facetimed them the scars was like in different places 😂😂😂
They had a huge missed opportunity for one of the Ghostface killers to be the play director who noted how lack luster Tatums performance was on the stage. His motive could have been to improve her acting skills and fill her with energy by killing her friends and family. Sure, there was something that the movie had to say with parasocial wine moms and fan girls/boys but I think that if they were going to play the movie straight with very little meta refrences like they did, they would have benefited from ditching that and embracing the story surrounding the play, coming of age, the relationship between mother and daughter, and enduring through generational trauma.
I thought he was the killer cause they shown him again during the crowd when the first ghostface dies
There for the taking 😂
@doshi066they showed all of them, but he was the first and the timing was wild for him to be there. But then you realize they were all there.
I definitely agree with your criticisms, and I hope Williamson can learn from this and if he does end up directing scream 8 he actually learns how to add some style
Can we talk about how Mindy never talks about Anika like she literally saw her girlfriend murdered in front of her and never talks about it.
Yup or being up Sam and Tara
the last good motivation was scream 4 man. 5 was cool but 6&7 man especially 7 man please get new writers and directors asap!
Hey Chris, not trying to be a glazer, but I just wanted to say how much you’ve impacted my life and my love for movies! You are an amazing content creator and always make me laugh! Much love and I pray Jesus blesses your family and new baby!
Oh man stop! With the crazy toxicity online with my honest thoughts on this movie it is very heartwarming and reassuring to get a comment like this. It means the world thank you and I hope nothing but blessings come your way🙏🏻
@3CFilmsthank you man! Much love and yeah our world really needs some love and some Jesus lol! You are the Best!
Honestly Gal Weathers has perfect motive for being ghostface, her entire career is basically only because of the murders, she lost Dewey to ghost face, it’s her whole life at this point.
When they showed her trembling hand, I was waiting to see the ghostfaces hand also tremble. I would have been shocked if she had turned out to be ghostface. But shocked would have been better than disappointed lol.
Whoever came up with that motivation is on crack.
I was apart of the group begging for Stu to return. His character was just so iconic to me when I was a little kid and saw Scream for the first time. The fact that he was finally brought back and done so dirty in Scream 7 breaks my heart tbh 😔
I think he's still alive and stu was controlling them and had them use AI to keep him being alive a secret. Look at the AI VIDEOS in the first one his face is all scarred up etc and the other calls he looks nothing like that.. I think the first call was very real but they used the AI excuse to hide him being alive pulling strings
@anthonyjones3835could be. Or it could be just them making a continuity error which I could for sure see plausible. I think that if that was the case, fans have been asking for Stu to return for so long and to finally bring him back to blue ball the audience just for potentiality in another sequel is wack. I think how Cris said this should be the last movie to heavily rely on nostalgia, bringing old characters back, all of that should end wi the this one. Scream 8 needs to be something new and refreshing as a whole.
@anthonyjones3835I think that’s how they could fix it, the reveal ruins this movie from been good, i was waiting for a end credit scene a call to Sidney frm him like u think it’s over it’s just begun like s7 was a part 1 of something, I think if they bring stu back in the next one and show he was the one controlling them and the rest he killed dewy cause amber def didn’t lift him 🤦♂️😂, and in the next one with another killer, Sam mom would make a bit of sense maybe, but in de end he gets cot then scream 9 is about the trial of stu and ghostface and the trauma all survivors from over the years with a ghost face mixed in killing them bring the trial into dispute, and in some way set up a massive number 10, extra points u say could work,, it be interesting if gale (now they have nothing for her) was always one of the masterminds behind it all, all of these years after all her character gained the most and is nothing without ghost face, maybe in number 9 and I’d also like to see Tara get murdered and Sam snapping as hinted in the bed if 7 before Tara pulls her back from the brink, this could happen prob in number 9 during the trial, if the actors were offered enough to come back, number 10 could even be a ghostface sam hunting down sidney causing lots of pain maybe both dying Sidney heroic for her daughter and Sam lost in mind already and is now like her father I think both dying and facing off in scream ten would also bring it right back to the original, just some theories 🤔
Because HE’S DEAD for fucks sake.
@Chicoandthemanit’s a movie my guy if a character didn’t explode into tiny pieces then there’s always a chance they could return.
