This song describes very well the complexity of a siren and it's counterpart... the mermaids. For those confused, they are actually two different species with the siren bearing more human traits and originally being described as part bird in greek mythology until they became synonymous with the concept of part human and part fish beings. Both sing to entice sailors, but while the mermaids are sometimes depicted as more harmless, the sirens abduct and devour those enchanted by their songs. This siren here is rather a peculiar case. She desires to love and be loved back but her inner predatory nature makes it nearly impossible and if I'm sure, probably leading to a twisted form of obsession and madness.
