I think he is the parfect fit. He's 22 and has the tecnique, physique and football intelligence needed. I think he will blossom this season and be one of our main characters for the coming years.
Only thing about grav that you can fault is his defensive work everything else with the ball is the best "6" we've had. He's what Macca was from last season with a bit more mobility to hurt opponents centrally. It'll be hard to find someone with the defensive contributions of Fabinho and the ball playing ability of Grav - think Busquets. It would not be surprising to have Slot coach the defensive part into Grav and keep him there permanently
And don't think you can fault his defensive work as he has made the most tackles an interceptions in the last 2 PL games then anybody else on both teams. Also we haven't conceded a goal. So I think people are just saying that he isn't good at defending when the evidence says different.
@@erik-tea-bag I would say I put a question mark on Gravenberch's defensive work for Klopp last season as an 8, while acknowledging that playing a 6 for Slot is probably easier on the defensive side than playing an 8 for Klopp. And if it takes a bit for Ryan to grow into the 6 position, that is not a knock against the player. The good news is Gravenberch looks like a natural 6 for Slot when in possession. Unlike Trent, he is both clever and strong when receiving the ball with pressure on his back, and he often leaves opposition players for dead who dare press hard.
Gravenberch’s ball carrying forward is top notch! He’s one of the best in today’s football. His weakness is his defensive awareness. But if he improves that and a couple of more position specific skills, he’ll be one of the best #6 in the league!
Feels like a new signing. Not used much by Klopp. He seems like a confidence player. Slot clearly rates him and that will help him. I love his slick movement and passing. Takes the ball comfortably and progress past markers. Great positionally and technically. Consistency will be key. Makes game look easy. Very excited about his potential. Could be a key player this season.
I find languid players frustrating, but we cannot doubt their is a proper footballer there so I would hold off buying and intensively coach Gravenberch. Can this weighty responsibility be the encouragement for him to come out of his shell and prove the doubters wrong?
There is context to last season. Ryan wasn't playing at all at Bayern, he didn't have a preseason with Klopp and was settling into a new country and football culture. You can't say he had a poor season when you consider these facts.
Agreed. A lot of players look a little lost when first playing for Klopp. Fabinho got very few minutes playing for Klopp during his first 5 months at Liverpool. Heck, Gini Wijnaldum took almost two years to blossom from a talented but unreliable player into the machine that was instrumental in bagging the CL and PL trophies.
Gravenberch has to step up his defensive game. Slot knows thats his week spot. Against stronger teams there is a good chance Slot will choose differently.
I can’t understand why some Liverpool supporters still want Trent in midfield, the style and system of play under Slot it’s different to Klopp’s style and system, Trent’s strong attributes is his vision and passing. controlling the tempo of the game and receiving the ball on a turn to beat opposition press aren’t his attributes, we shouldn’t try to fix things that aren’t broken, at this moment in time we should get behind Ryan
There are pros and cons to Trent in midfield. Trent is an amazing midfielder when he has a some space work with and time enough to get his head up. Give him that, and he is actually very difficult to press, and he frightens the opposition back line because he is a clever two footed passer. But facing his own goal while receiving with strong pressure on his back and Trent is very average as midfielders go, and average is not good enough to play a 6 for Slot. On the plus side, Slot likes to break through the press and launch two midfielders carrying the ball forward in an aggressive 424. Trent's talents shine in this scenario.
@@ComradeOgilvy1984 I would add that having space to work with and time to think in the midfield position is much rarer than as a right back, hence why trent is better where he is now imho.
Hey guys, I think going forward Slot should consider in the future to play Bradley as a no.8 and play Endo as RCB in a back 3 when in possession. Nyoni/Morton can play as the DM with Bradley next to them and Elliott ahead, it's a nice midfield, and in the future it will likely be Bajcetic/Nyoni/ Gravenberch for our main options at 6, which is good to be honest. Morton has his chance this season to stay in the team for long term future but he needs to go up a level, including learning how to body players, which Grav Nyoni Bajcetcic all can do well. Our second XI could be: Endo Quansah Gomez Tsimikas (going into a back 3 in possession with Tsimikas running up and down the pitch on the left) Morton Bradley as a the double pivot (especially when/ if Jones gets injured) Elliot ahead
Pirlo ? 😂 Don't disrespect Pirlo like that ...Trent is Beckham , Pirlo can dribble , short pass , long pass and can pick the ball from the goalie ...Trent loves crossing from the wing
This is arguably the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Treat doesn’t receive the ball well facing his own goal. A necessity in that position. Ryan does, he excels at it. He’s got every building block to be a quality 6 in a double pivot. Trent hasn’t.
Given that Liverpool are unlikely to win the league, the goal has to be top four. So better not to sign anyone until Jan at least and see how the new system gets with which players
I dont think this will work. He is no Rodri, Kante or Caicedo. He doesn’t have pace and he is not that physical. He will get overun by bigger high pressure teams
We genuinely dont need another explanation about Slot's system and how it works. At this point, its become the Uncle Ben/Thomas & Martha Wayne of football.
Ryan has been doing okay however I still feel more can be harnessed out of Trent in that position. With trend, Conor and salah that right hand side could cause havoc. Trend just isn’t solid defensively in that RB role. If not Endo, James ward? Kimmich?
there's Bajcetic & Nyoni who could maybe develop into the role if given some minutes. Another temporary option might be to play Mac Allister as the 6 and use Jones as the 8.
Liverpool will have a split in the team in the near future. ‼︎ Because Slott will be moving a lot of Dutchmen to Liverpool in the future and using them in games. This is characteristic of Dutch coaches! Liverpool will represent the Netherlands in the near future.
I don't know about that. The Dutch players they have now were brought in by Klopp, not Slot. He also has not been asking for players he played with previously as far as I know. And I don't think he will to be honest. Not all Dutch managers are like Ten Hag or Van Gaal. And those both coached for United where there has been much more chaos for years and where the coaches had way more influence in transfer business whereas Liverpool have a technical director taking care of that. So Slot couldn't bring Dutch players if he wanted, but I don't think he even does. Gravenberch is just the best solution for this position. And Gakpo is not even playing even though he can be really good. There is no national nepotism with Arne. He's a cool dude that only looks at football
Pfff what a load of nonsense. Slot said Liverpool will only buy a player if that player is better then what they currently have. And I’m Dutch and I think there’s no Dutch player better then what they currently have ( except maybe Frenky de Jong, but I don’t see that happen ). But I’m surprised that he didn’t went for Hancko, great cb/ lcb from Feyenoord.
We have 2 players right now as a number 6. We don't need another. Remember, Alexandre-Arnold, Salah and Van dijk are all likely to leave us for free at the end of the season.

Anyone else here after his dominant MOTM performance against ManU?
Most definitely 😂
So Grevenbach will carry Slot all the way in his tenure, i guess? 😂
He is not there to be defending but to drive the ball forward... We will see endo against tough ball playing teams
Gravenberch made 6 succesful tackles in 2 games against Ipswich and Brendtford.
Endo against high pressing teams like City, Arsenal and Spurs? That's suicidal.
But he can be a safe ball player... He won't take risks like Gravenberch...

Underrated youtube channel. Nice content mate
The problem is that Endo doesn't suit the style of play. He needs to be replaced. Gravenberch is doing fine as a no.6 and no.8
No he doesn’t. He’s an ideal back up and a great pro. Wool.
In games against teams like City with a player who makes the play like De Bruyne, Endo could shadow him and derail their game
They've also got Bajcetic and Nyoni, so perhaps those could be the long term replacements
Endo can be CB
Very promising, but still a long way to go to be certain he is the right man i that posisition. Great video!
